I hate it when people post just to post.....
georgia girl replied to TerriDoodle's topic in The Lounge
Hmmmm....I thought it showed an air date of 7-30-08. Usually that's how I can tell if it is new or not. Anyway, I agree with Denise...they need to leave it on!!!! -
Thanks Kathy! That is funny. I guess it didn't bother me running outside because I ran at a local elementary school and no one was ever there, mainly because it's summer and I typically run late in the evening. If I am being totally honest, it is harder to run outside, for me anyway. Probably because the ground is unlevel and there are hills and such. I will probably still run outside a good bit, but I won't be afraid to do it at the gym if I can't do it outside anymore. I am noticing that my left knee is bothering me just a little. I bought a knee stabilizer tonight, so I'm hoping that will help. It would crush me if I had to stop jogging. I'm loving it and it's been a long time since I have really enjoyed being active. I wonder if the treadmill would be better on the knees???? Renewed~ Girl, your message box is full. I tried to send you a PM and it wouldn't go through, lol. Mine is actually getting pretty close to being full again too. Guess I need to delete too....

Thanks for the tip guys. I will try both. Well, I did something tonight I didn't think I could do. It's been steady raining here since this afternoon, so I didn't get to run outside today. I took my butt to the YMCA and did my running on the treadmill! Luckily there was hardly anyone there. I thought to myself, now would be a good time to see how it goes, so I did it! I was worried about people staring at me and I was paranoid that it would sound and feel like an earthquake when I started running, but it didn't!! I took off my headphones to listen and by golly, it wasn't bad at all! I figured I would be stomping loud like the guy that annoys Bonnie so bad, lol. Anyway, I think I actually did better on the treadmill. I honestly thought I was probably running about 4.0 mph outside but it was more like 4.5 mph. I was pleasantly surprised. I like the fact that it kept me at a steady pace. I know that's a little slow but I will work on speed later. The run was wonderful. My breathing was much better and I had a good stride going. I think I will do another day of week 2 on Sunday and then move on to week 3 Tuesday. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Never mind Mac. I looked at my program guide and found it. Didn't it used to come on TLC? Now it comes on DHTH. Anyway, I set it up to record and all is good now. -
Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good idea Denise! I just got a fill (fingers crossed this is the one) and I haven't even attempted meat yet. I've bought the rotissery (sp???) chickens from wal-mart before, very tasty. I'll have to try that if I have any problems. Thanks for the tip! -

Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I made some egg salad a few weeks ago and used the spinach dip! I loved it!! I also used it in deviled eggs instead of mayo....yum! I go through so much spinach dip, it's crazy!!!! -
Anyone wear anything to help with the jiggle while running? (Hehe, the word jiggle makes me think of the jello commercials, lol). Okay, back to my post. I have a lot of mid-section jiggle (hehe) and was wondering if there is anything out there, especially for runners, that would help with it. Since I've started running, I've had some rashes under my apron that I usually don't get (sorry if that's TMI). I'm sure it has to do with it rubbing during my runs. Anyone wear anything under clothes that helps with that?

Great!! Sounds like a plan!

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I've been doing pretty good. I've upped my exercise and I just got a fill this past Tuesday and hopefully I will keep restriction this time. As many of you know, we thought that I might have a leak. Still not sure yet but Leslie is going to keep a close eye on it. I was missing a little over .25cc in a 4 week period....not as bad as last time, so that is reassuring. Bagweaver~ Hang in there. Those dry spells can be very discouraging. Just keep doing your very best and hopefully your plateau will be over soon. Bamboobabe~ Hope you reflux gets better soon. -
I know!! What a wonderful bandiversay gift! I called my SIL and she said she would think about doing it. I emailed her the podrunner intervals to download. She said she would give it a try and let me know. You and J are more than welcome to sign up too. I think it would be great practice for the Chili Run....
-
Well.....I guess since you made it official, I needed to also. I DID IT!! I registered for the Chili Run. I'm soooo excited!! You, me, and J will be doing this together. The YMCA here in Moultrie has a Race of the South Sept. 20th (my one year bandiversary!!). They have a 10k, 5k, and a 1 mile run. I'm thinking of signing up for the 1 mile run, but I'm not sure yet. I might could talk my SIL into doing it with me..... Anyway, I'm excited about the Chili Run!!!! Can't wait!!

Today: B'fast~ low carb slim fast Lunch~ 1 cup 3 bean chili Dinner~ 1 cup 3 bean chili Snack~ probably Protein shake after my run -
Kathy~ Congrats on the job interviews! I hope it works out for you! Let us know how they go. Leslie~ I also have a hard time with my hubby and exercise. He joined the YMCA over a month ago and do you think he has been? Nope. I've decided I'm just gonna quit asking and hopefully he will step up and take control. He has about 50 lbs he needs to lose. I do think he is starting to see how beneficial exercise has been for me. Just keep doing the best you can and don't stop. On the other hand, I can understand why he would feel uncomfortable at the gym. I started going to the YMCA when I was 330 lbs. I too felt like everyone was staring. Now that I have lost some weight, I don't feel quite so intimidated. I still don't feel comfortable running on the treadmill there, that's why I run outside. It's getting better and better as I become healthier, so maybe it will just take some time for him to warm up to it. Anyway, ((HUGS)). Hang in there girlie!

Since we keep bringing up the Rocky music, here is a funny clip from youtube... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqOBR_Xbw2I&feature=related]YouTube - ROCKY - REMI GAILLARD[/ame]

I use the Flintstone Gummies. I love them and never had a problem with them getting stuck. I just bought my son some gummy vitamins by Sundown Kids (?). They are super hero vitamins and I tried them and I like them too. They are much softer than the Flintstones, almost like a gumdrop.

Whooooo Hoooooo Renewed!!! 20 minutes is freakin AMAZING!! I'm so proud of you right now! You give me hope girl! BTW, you are a HUGE inspiration to me!! I couldn't have gotten through some of those dry spells without you!
