I just called and gave them my new email address. They had the old one on file but I still didn't get it on that one either. I can't wait to see it! Now, if we can just get the support meetings going... -
Very cool! You will be an awesome addition to the team! Congrats and be sure to keep us up to date on it! We are becoming athletes!! I love it!!!

Need a recipe to cure my japanese craving
georgia girl replied to becky42's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Becky! I like Shogun too! I LOVE the Hibachi chicken but I've only had it once since being banded. I like sushi too! Sorry I don't have any recipes to cure your cravings but maybe if you google Healthy Japanese Recipes, you can find a good one. I don't eat a lot of rice since being banded, but I have used Spaghetti Squash as a substitute for Spaghetti Noodles in a baked spaghetti fake out recipe, and it turned out really well. Maybe you could use it as a rice substitute (kinda like lo mein noodles) with a japanese chicken recipe. The squash mixed with the japanese sauce might be pretty tasty. Just a thought... -

Cool! I'm glad your family liked the recipes! I use this spinach dip ALL THE TIME on lots of stuff. I always substitute mayo for the spinach dip in just about everything. -

...because I had a weekend full of bad food choices and it's time to get busy and back on track!! -
Renewed~ I can't imagine you overcommiting, lol! Seriously, I do know what you mean. That's why I say I may just commit to swimming right now. Just swim as long as I can. I will probably work up to starting the program eventually, but not right now. I just need to get back in the swing of swimming first.

We don't have an outdoor pool at the YMCA here. I think I saw a sign at the indoor pool that had the laps to mile equivalent on it. I don't remember how many made a mile, but I think it was A LOT!! I'll check next time I go. I'm sure the life guards would know though.......

Hey Renewed! I think I am going to shoot for swimming 3 times a week for now. When I start running again, it may be more like 2 times a weeks. I'm not sure if I will follow that program to a T, but thought I would at least give it try. But for now, I may just swim until I have to stop, rest a bit, and repeat until I tire out.

Hey SugarBean! I haven't swam much since I was a kid either. Swimming is A LOT harder than I remember, lol!
-
Hey Les! I'm doing fine. We didn't swim yesterday but I think we may go tonight, not sure though. I thought about trying the C25K on the elliptical since it's zero impact. I could use my podrunner and speed up and add a little resistance when it's time to run. What do ya'll think??

Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits Before/During/After Pics

Mia, that did not sound like fun! I've never given any thought to liquids being a problem either. Glad you are back and doing okay. I had my very first pb yesterday. I ate too fast and boy, that was painful!! I took a sip of drink thinking it would help....NOPE! I pb'ed the drink. I knew better than to drink too, but in the moment I thought it might help. Anyway, lesson learned! -
Okay, I found something online for swimming. It's kinda like the couch to 5k but for swimming. I thought I would post it for those who like to swim on off running days. Whosya said swimming was an excellent exercise to do on off running day since it is completely opposite of running. It looks pretty hard but I may give it try. Here is the link --> About.com: http://www.ruthkazez.com/SwimWorkouts/ZeroTo1mile.html

I am missing my scales too! I can't believe I have lasted this long. It's probably a good thing I'm not weighing because I had a weekend of bad food choices. I am back on track today and ready to get busy!

 Definitely not TMI.....

Hey Jeannie! I'm glad you posted. Hopefully my knee will clear up soon so I can get back in gear training for our 5K in November. I think we will be ready, even if we had to walk some it, that's okay. I'm really excited about it!! Good luck with week 2!!
-
I haven't ran since Wednesday! I sure do miss it, but my knee is not ready. I am going to hold off on running until I hear from my doctor Friday and maybe do some swimming until then. Renewed~ Good for you! I'm glad you are listening to your body. Don't worry about having to repeat. I know you will work up to the 25 minutes. If anyone can do it, you can!! Leslie~ I'm glad you got some new shoes. It really does make a world of difference when you have a good pair. I really like my Nike Shox.

Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad

Hi Jo Anne! I'm glad you liked the recipe. Good job on your weight loss! You're doing great. Keep up the good work and good luck with your surgery! -
Mamato3~ You are doing such a great job! Hope your hips feels better soon. I really missed my run yesterday. I did get some cardio in though. DH, DS, and I went to the YMCA pool yesterday evening and I got some laps in. I forgot swimming was such good cardio! It seemed to tire me out more than running. I guess because I'm using different muscles. Anywho, great workout and it didn't bother my knee or leg at all! It bothered my ankle a little, which is weird because it has felt fine. Nothing bad though. I enjoyed it and hopefully burned a lot of calories. Keep up the good work everyone!!!

Sorry Bozzj. That didn't sound fun at all!! Today: B'fast~ protein shake Lunch~ 1/2 c 3 bean soup, 1 heaping tbsp shredded cheese Snack~ 2 tbsp Smuckers Natural Crunchy peanut butter mixed with 1 tsp natural honey and 3 thin crisp triscuits Dinner~ 2 or 3 oz of smothered meatloaf and maybe some fresh cherries for dessert?? I didn't know peanut butter would be so filling. I have stayed away from it because I figured it would go straight down. -
Just did it! Renewed my subscription! Ready to start using it again!
-
Okay, I've got to start wearing mine again. I usually wear it on the days I run but that's about it and not always all day. My subscription is up tomorrow I think? I need to renew it and make myself wear it again. It is a wonderful tool and it's crazy that I haven't been using it! I, georgia girl, vow to get up tomorrow and put my bodybugg on...and leave it on!!! Actually, I am going to put it on NOW!!!
-
Renewed, I agree with Kathy. I say do the run first or space your video and run out more. Your body may just need a little break to catch up. Get you some rest girl and slow down some. A day's rest may be all you need to revive yourself. Take care!!

Gloucester~ Find something you LOVE doing! For a long time, I would go to the gym, get on the elliptical and do some weights. In all honesty, I got bored with that pretty quickly and stopped all together for a while. I had seen the Couch to 5K thread a lot and never bothered attempting because I didn't think I could do it. Well, one day I was reading the thread and a very close LBT friend of mine inspired me to give it a try. Well, I did and I LOVE IT!!! Who knew??? I now see exercise very differently than before. Before, I dreaded it and now I look forward to it. Find something you love to do, whether it be swimming, dancing, aerobics, walking, running, biking, or whatever! It doesn't matter what you do as long as you are moving and enjoying it! I'm telling you....finding something you enjoy doing will change your view on exercise. PS, listen to the angel. Get up and start moving! You can do it!!
