Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I use Swanson most of the time. If you don't like canned chicken, you can always cook the chicken yourself and chop it up. It's a Crockpot Meatloaf and it's sooooo good. Here's the link to the recipe --> http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f82/smothered-crockpot-meatloaf-71773/ Enjoy! -
I have a kinked/twisted tubing situation.
georgia girl replied to rondawood63's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi rondawood63! Sorry you are going to have to have another surgery. How did you know you had a twisted tube? Did you have any symptoms or pain? Good luck with your surgery and take care. -
Hey luluc! Sorry it took so long to reply. I haven't checked this thread in sooo long. My veggie kick didn't last that long, lol. Well, it lasted a little over a month. Even though I am eating some meat now, I don't eat near as much as I used to. I think all the years of low carbing and eating so much meat just turned me off from it for a while. Well, did you and DH do the meat fast?

Dr. John Bagnato - H2O - Challenge

Pretty cool. Here's what mine said: 134 ounces of Water today, or 4 liters. If you eat a healthy diet, about 20 percent of your water may come from the foods you eat. If you eat a healthy diet you can drink 107.2 ounces of water today, or 3.2 liters. I know I haven't been having nearly enough. That's a lot of water. -
Mamato, I'm so sorry about your husband. Looks like ya'll have a pretty long and rough road ahead of you. I'm praying your husband gets better soon and praying for stregnth for you in taking care of him and the kids. ((big hugs)).

Creamy Spinach Chicken Salad
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Frustrated~ I like almonds in mine too. I've tried dried cranberries and they're good too. I haven't thought about pineapple though....I bet that's really good. I'll have to give it a try! -

LOL, Jo Anne! I'm glad you liked the recipes, but I don't think I would be very good writing a cook book. I just love to play around with food. Sometimes my "playing around" turns out pretty bad....just ask my hubby, lol. If I make something that turns out bad, I usually play with it until it's good. I can't leave it alone! I guess it's the perfectionist in me, lol. -

I'm so sorry BBK. I know you are beyond upset, I know I would be! ((HUGS)) Praying that everything goes well tomorrow. -
Thanks areellady! I took both pills this morning they went down fine. I'm still getting a slight burning sensation in my chest, but it only lasted about 30 minutes. I suppose it could be the medicine itself causing the burn. It's a relief that they went down because there's no way I could mix the powder in my food again....UGH, so nasty!

Hi all. My family doctor put me on an antibiotic today (Clindamycin) and it comes in capsules. It wasn't available in liquid form and I have to take 8 capsules per day! I tried breaking them open and mixing it in yogurt and I threw up because the taste was soooo bad....YUCK! Now I feel sick! Seems like I read somewhere that you could put the capsules in a bowl of warm Water to start breaking the outside shell down and then swallow them. Anyone had any luck with that? I've never swallowed a whole pill since being banded, so I'm not sure if it would get stuck. I'm supposed to take 2 at a time, 4 times a day. Do I put them in warm water separately, waiting a few minutes in between? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Thanks for all the replies. I did ask the pharmacist if it could be opened and he said yes. They didn't have the liquid in stock and he said that the liquid form tasted just as bad as the inside of the capsule. I ended up taking them whole about 45 minutes ago. I spaced them out by about 5 minutes. They didn't get stuck, but I do feel a bit of a burning sensation in my chest. Not sure why? Anyway, I'm not sure as to what I will do in the morning. I'm usually a little tight in the mornings and I worry about it getting stuck. I may just call the doctor and see if there is another antibiotic that would work. Maybe one that I could slice into pieces? Thanks for the links Laurinda. I appreciate it!

Should LapBandTalk have forums for OTHER Weight Loss Surgeries?
georgia girl replied to Froggi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I voted no. It's not that I don't want other WLS people on here, per say. I have nothing against people who have chosen other WLS options. To each his own. I have just read sooooo many posts here about OH and how WLS patients band together and gang up on one another. I would hate for this website to become divided that way. It's a scary thought really. By having all the different WLS on here, I could see how it might. I hope it doesn't because I really like the vibe of this website. I just don't like the "battle of the WLS" drama. That's my only concern with other WLS forums being here. -
I don't notice a difference during TOM. I wish I did though, I'd love to lose a couple of pounds during TOM. Unfortunately, I usually gain because my craving are OFF THE CHART during TOM! Ughhh

Had a nasty virus last night, so I stuck to mostly liquids today B'fast~ water Lunch~more water Dinner~ animal crackers and some milk -
I agree Denise. I don't necessarily come in this forum everyday, but it's really nice to read that other women go through the same stuff I do. I like to come in here, especially if I'm having a bad day and need some girl talk time, lol. I'm glad this forum isn't 'just about the band'! The band is important, but so is all the other stuff.

Hey LMJ! I'm not sure about the live cultures. The taste of greek yogurt is a little....tangy, I guess. I bought some plain and added a tbsp of raw honey to it. It sweetened it up pretty nicely. I think I have heard others say they like jam/jelly mixed in with it. The other day, I added an individual size container of SF rice pudding in it (added it to the vanilla flavor greek yogurt) and it was pretty good.
