    Breakfast & Just Some Help!!

    In general, I am not much of a breakfast eater....never have been. I also make smoothies for breakfast. I do all kinds of smoothies...fruit smoothies, vegetable smoothies. I have made sweet potato smoothies, Peanut Butter and banana smoothies, apple cinnamon smoothies, banana pumpkin smoothies, smoothies with spinach. It's a good way for me to get nutrients in without having to eat them and I love them. Fruit is naturally sweet, so I don't usually add any other sweeteners to mine. But, like waitingpatiently said, you can eat whatever food you want for breakfast, just make it healthy. Good luck!
  4. idahoanmom, you make some valid points. I agree that we don't always make time for ourselves. It's hard to do sometimes, but we should. I don't exercise everyday, but I do exercise 4-5 times a week and I feel good about that. I think the reason people are getting upset has to do with the harshness of the OP's posts, not so much disagreeing with what she said. We all know that exercising is beneficial to our health. No one is agruing that. Is it necessary for weight loss? Not always. I have a friend (not banded) that has lost 76 lbs over the past year without exercising at all. Not sure why she didn't, but nevertheless, she lost the weight in a healthy way. She cut out processed foods and started eating whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean Protein, etc. She has just recently started exercising, but didn't the whole time she was losing weight. Now, that definitely isn't my approach, but who am I to judge her methods? She did what worked for her and she succeeded. We have no idea what circumstances others are faced with, what medical conditions might be a factor, or what their lives are like in general. We have no idea. Everyone's journey is not the same. What works for some, doesn't work for others. And no, not everyone exercises. So what....let it go.

    Well, if I go back to my original doctor, I will let him know. I was very disappointed in him, so more than likely I will see if I can find another doctor that will take me on. Thanks again for the info. I am glad there is another option besides surgery!

    Wow, I had no idea anything like that was even possible. That is pretty amazing. I stopped going to the doctor altogether because he had me coming in every 2 weeks for a fill/fluid measurement for months and never really ran any tests. I haven't had a fill in about 1.5 years and I still have some restriction. I always thought that IF I did have a leak, it was either in the tubing or the port area. So, does the acrylic work for a leak....no matter where it is, for instance, in the tubing or port?

    Wow, this is an old post, lol. I don't know the answer to your question because I never had mine removed or replaced. My doctor monitored my fluid levels for a long time and I would be missing fluid here and there, but it wasn't constistant. Long story short, I think my experience could have been mostly the fill nurses making mistakes in putting in the fluid (not recording correctly or not measuring correctly). You may want to ask this question in the complications section....

    I got the recipe from Pinterest.com. 1 (12oz) pkg frozen shelled edamame- fully thawed 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1/4 c. grated parmesan cheese salt and pepper to taste garlic powder to taste (optional) Dry off thawed edamame in a clean kitchen towel. Spread edamame on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil and toss them around a little until evenly coated. Then sprinkle with seasonings and cheese evenly. Bake @ 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes (until cheese is golden brown).

    Not sure if you like oatmeal, but I recently saw a recipe for an smoothie that looked super thick. It was made with a ripe frozen banana (sliced), cooked oatmeal, yogurt, and almonds. I imagine the banana and oatmeal would work pretty well with the PB2. You could try starting with the frozen banana, cooked oatmeal (1/4-1/2 cup), PB2, protein powder, and a splash of milk and blend everything together. You can add more milk if needed, a little at the time, until you get the right consistency. If you don't like oatmeal, just adding the frozen banana and less milk will give it a thicker consistency. I use frozen fruit in most all of my smoothies and they are usually the consistency of a milkshake. You can even make banana ice cream by blending a ripe frozen banana and little to no milk....it is seriously like eating ice cream and the best part is that it is super healthy!

    Natural Sweeteners For Coffee?

    I think that was the problem with the first brand I tried. This new one is much better and didn't leave an after taste.
