Kathy, sorry you are having a hard time getting the diagnosis. I know that must be pretty frustrating. Hope you are able to get it soon. Renewed, great list!! Those are some great goals. I'm glad you're back!! Well, now I am only 4 lbs away from being back at my ticker weight. I had gained 10 lbs!! I've been doing low carb since Saturday, and I've dropped 6 lbs since then. YAY!! I feel great and the cravings have stopped. Have a great day ya'll!!

    Band friendly appetizers

Here are a few recipes I use a lot. Crock-pot Sweet and Sour Meatballs People rave about this recipe and it's sooooo easy! If you making for a really large group of people, just double the recipe. 1 pkg frozen HOMESTYLE meatballs 2 jars of Heinz chili sauce 1 medium sized jar grape jelly (I have used low sugar jelly and it was just as good) Pour chili sauce and jelly in the crock-pot, stir it together. It will be lumpy, but as it cooks it will smooth out. Pour in meatballs and give it a good stir. Cook on low for 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally. Ham Roll-ups I do this one a lot, since it's low-carb. Deli ham (I use the square shaped ones) Chive and onion cream cheese, softened Just spread the cream cheese on the ham slices and roll up. Cut into bite-size pieces and secure with a tooth pick. Sausage Cream Cheese Roll-ups This one is similar to the ham roll-ups. Deli ham 1 pkg cream cheese, softened 1 lb. ground sausage Brown sausage and drain. Put it back in the pan, on low heat, and add cream cheese. Stir until mixed well and remove from heat. Spread a thin layer of sausage mixture onto the ham and roll-up. Cut into bite-size pieces and secure with tooth picks. pineapple Cream Cheese Roll-ups As you can see, I do a lot of roll-ups, lol. 1 pkg cream cheese, softened crushed pineapple, drained Deli ham Just mix the cream cheese and pineapple together and spead on ham. Roll up and secure with tooth picks. Cream Cheese and Pepper Jelly Dip This one is really easy and tasty. 1 pkg cream cheese 1 jar pepper jelly Place brick of cream cheese on a platter and pour the pepper jelly over the top of it. Serve with crackers. Wheat thins are good with it. Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Appetizer Quiche 1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese 1/2 c. chopped onion 2 c. milk 1/2 c. Bisquick 4 eggs 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Mix milk, Bisquick, eggs, salt and pepper in blender for 1 minute. Mix bacon, cheese and onion and place 1 tablespoon of bacon mixture in bottom of a mini muffin tins. Pour milk mixture over bacon mixture (fill about 3/4 of the way full) and bake @350 until browned. As someone else mentioned, cheese balls and crackers are always a good choice. Veggie or fruit trays with dip. Crab dip, spinach dip, mexican dip....served with wheat crackers or tortilla chips is good too. I have a Christmas party to go to tonight and I'm making the ham roll-ups, both styles.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Hope you don't mind Kathy, but I'm gonna add this one to my list too! I've been trying really hard to get my hubby to lose weight and eat healthier. He is "suppose" to be on a special diet for his cholesterol, but he doesn't do it. Makes me soooo mad sometimes. I'm trying my best to encourage him without upsetting him. I just worry about him. I hope he takes the initiative to do something about it soon. Anyway, that is definitely one that needs to be on my list. 1. Hit ONEderland!! 2. Shop in regular sized stores (I'm in a size 18 now, so I'm almost there!) 3. Get to a healthy BMI. 4. Run a 5K in less than 30 minutes. 5. To help motivate my loved ones to live healthier lives. Whosya, glad you popped in! Half Iron Man? Good for you...that's awesome!! I think I'll work on doing some more 5k's and I would love to do a 10k by the end of next year. Good to hear from you!

Hi Mary Beth and welcome!! I do best on a low carb diet too. As much as I hate it, that's just the way it is. Best of luck to you!

    party meatballs

This is similar to the ones I make. I use a frozen pkg of frozen meatballs (homestyle), 2 jars of chili sauce and 1 jar of grape jelly. I've even made it with low sugar jelly and it was good.

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

LOL. I guess it was more of a "cook-in". A few of the men grilled the hamburgers outside, but we ate inside. It's actually pretty cold tonight. Probably not as cold as you're use to, but cold for south Georgia, lol. Kristen, congrats on your 5K time. That's almost the exact same time I had on my first one. Great job!! Lyn, sorry about your treadmill. I know that was frustrating for you. Hope you find the missing piece soon, or are able to get a new one. Kathy, I love this time of year too! I love just driving around looking at all the pretty Christmas lights. I love seeing all my family and friends, and going to Christmas parties. I love just taking the time to stop and celebrate Jesus' birth. What a wonderful time!! Have fun making gingerbread cookies!! I am very proud of myself. I stayed on track all day today....barely had any carbs. I probably won't run until Monday, but I am feeling much better than I was. I think I have a "lack of sugar" headache. The first couple of days of doing low carb is always rough. Anyway, I'm soooo glad I am back on track!! It's long over due. Hope you all have a wonderful day tomorrow!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Great goal list Lyn!! My original plan was to get back on track Tuesday because I have a church supper tonight and a Christmas party Monday night....but I've decided I'm not going to wait. I'm starting today. I'm going to watch my carbs and as soon as I am feeling up to it, I'm going to be running again. So far today I've had a Atkins shake and 4 meatballs. At the church cookout I'll just eat a hamburger patty and leave the bread off. I'm so sick of being in this rut!! I'm over it and moving on!! So....I made my major goal of losing 100 lbs, but I still have such a long way to go. I've made a new list, so here are my new goals... 1. Hit ONEderland!! 2. Shop in regular sized stores (I'm in a size 18 now, so I'm almost there!) 3. Get to a healthy BMI. 4. Run a 5K in less than 30 minutes. Hope all my LITE buddies have a wonderful weekend!!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Hello everyone! I haven't been posting much because I'm still sick. Can't seem to get over this cold. I'm not going to be able to run the 5k tomorrow :tongue2: Kathy, you are right. I was soooo motivated to begin with and especially when I started the C25K program. Now that I have ran my 5k, I find myself falling back into old habits. I know what I need to do.....focus on low carb and exercise, but I just can't seem to get my head back in it. We have all accomplished soooo much. I will work on my list over the weekend too. Renewed, have fun on your weekend hunting trip!! Sugarbean, congrats on making it to Onederland!! Great job!!

    Cheesy Tuna

This is a new creation I came up with. I am trying to spice up my low carb foods a little. This recipe reminds me of Tuna Helper without the noodles. Ingredients: 1 small can of tuna in Water, drained well 1 Tbsp. sour cream 2 Tbsp. milk 1/4 cup shredded cheese (whatever kind you prefer) Put milk, sour cream, and shredded cheese in a small microwavable bowl and microwave for about 1 to 1&1/2 minutes. Stir until creamy. If it's too thick add a splash more milk, if it's too thin add a little more cheese. Mix in tuna well and enjoy!

I sure did hate seeing Renee go home. She looked great though! I hope Michelle blows them all out of the water next week. And what a twist about America getting to decide who will be the last finalist. I just hope Michelle is in the finale. Bye bye Vicky!!!!

Unfortunately, my plan to get back on track has been delayed. I'm right there with you Beanie. I feel pretty crappy. It's a flu-like cold I guess. Anyway, I haven't done too bad with food, but I don't feel like exercising. I'm not sure if I'll be able to run the 5K on Saturday. Feel better Beanie.

    Dr. John Bagnato - Meetings

Hi Carroll and welcome!! We have monthly support group meetings at Palmyra. I've been to 2 of them and the last one was really good. It's always helpful to hear from others that are going through the same things. I'm not sure when the December meeting is. It usually has the date of the meetings in the email newsletter. Do you get the monthy newsletter? If not, call Terri at Dr. Bagnato's office and give her your email address and she will make sure you get it. Hope to see you at the next meeting!!

Whoooo Hooooo Kathy!! Congrats on making it to Onederland!! Well, I have had a busy weekend!! I've been Christmas shopping and trying to get my house decorated. I'm with you Renewed! I'm hitting it hard in the morning (or today rather, lol). I'm gonna try to keep my carbs low for a while and see if I can drop some weight. I'm gonna start running again tomorrow too. I haven't ran in quite a few days. I'm running in a 5K Saturday and I'm sooooo not ready for it. My time will probably be worse that my first 5k, lol. Anyway, I'm ready to get back on track and drop some weight before Christmas. Happy Monday all!!!

Congrats Red!! I remember thinking I would never finish that 20 minute straight run, but when I did....boy was it amazing!! Good luck, you can do it!! Gypsy, we all try to keep each other in line here, but I think there's always room for improvement. We'll be glad to be your training buddies. Are you going to do the C25K or something else? Good luck to you at whatever you do. Renewed~ Yes, I'm in. I may start on Friday though. I sure don't want the holiday food kicking my butt! I am going to watch my carbs and run...A LOT!! I'm ready to see my scale move closer to Onederland!! I'm sick of being in the 200's. I'm sure I will not be able to stick to low carb on Thursday (since we have 3 different places to eat at!), but I'm going to try not to do too terribly. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

    Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Welcome Beanie!! You will love running. I never thought I would be able to run. I love it!! Good luck to you and keep us updated on your progress. I have been doing pretty good lately. I've been running for the past few days. Also, I am ashamed to admit that I had gained 10 lbs before my fill last week. I've started watching my carbs again and I've already dropped 5 of those pounds. I hope to be back at my ticker weight soon. This isn't really a good time to start watching carbs, with the holidays and all, but it seems like it's the only way I can lose. I think has to do with PCOS. Carbs are the devil!! Anyway, I am going to try to stick to my plan through Thanksgiving...we'll see!! It's gonna be hard not to eat any sweets.

Openly Disgusting - Why Lose Weight?

Totally agree with this one. I used to sweat ALL the time...it was soooo embarrassing. It's funny because now I stay cold all the time. Never thought that would happen, lol. I certainly don't miss always being the biggest person in the room. My confidence is soooo much better now. Another thing....it used to be a real struggle to get up off the couch. It was embarrassing, especially at social functions. It's so nice to be able to get up with no problem now.
  25. Ya'll look absolutely fabulous!! Looks like ya'll were having a blast!!
