Heehee! I don't even bother wearing high heals...I'm clumbsy enough in flats, lol. BTW, black is cool!
-
Thanks. I may have to give it a try!

Hey Lyn! It's been so long! I'm glad you love your job! Sorry about your ankle though. I hope you heal quickly. Take it easy and don't worry about your stamina. If I remember correctly, you did really well with the c25k. I'm sure you be running like a pro again in no time. Good to hear from you! I have some good news...my back is beginning to feel better! YAY!!! I guess my hip was the problem and hopefully he fixed it. I feel A LOT better than I did when I woke up this morning. I'm hoping to be active again in couple of days!!

I don't know if Jillian is gay or straight and I really don't care. It's her business. But just because Daniel says she's gay, doesn't mean she is...at least to me it doesn't. Who cares...she ROCKS! I'd love to have her body btw! For ONCE, I was proud of Ron. I still don't like him, but I commend him for finishing the marathon and pushing through the pain. Gotta give him props for that. I thought about voting for Ron, just so Tara or Helen win, but I just couldn't do it. Althought I don't care for Mike all that much either, he deserves to be in the finale. I'm still hoping Tara wins! She did so good in the marathon.

I had the same problem when I started. I couldn't finish the first day of c25k...I just kept at it until I got through it. You may need to repeat days and weeks like I did. I didn't move on until I was ready. It took me a little longer than most, but eventually I got there. You can do it!! Just keep at it!!

Sorry Carol. I hope everything is okay with your band. I wish I had better news to report about my back, but it's still killing me. I thought it was a lot better yesterday after leaving the chiropractor, but it got worse and worse as the day went on. I'm still hoping it will straighten out soon. I miss running already. Seems like every time I get back on track something gets in the way. Anyway, fingers crossed it gets better soon.

Hey Oregondaisy! Do you mix the protein powder with milk or water? Just wondering because I'm trying to watch my carbs and didn't know if it is good with water...

Just got back from the chiropractor and I am already feeling a little better. I told him that my lower (really low) back was hurting, a little to the left of my spine. He checked my hips and said that my hip was out of line, causing one leg to be slightly shorter than the other. He said something we did Friday may have triggered it. I think it's fixed now and hopefully I will be pain free in couple of days!
-
Suzanne...great job! Good luck Saturday! Not sure I told ya'll, but Friday I went to the chiropractor about my neck. He thinks my neck problem is muscle related rather than a spinal injury. Well, my neck is getting better each day, but I think he may have done something to my back with all the popping he did. My lower back is killing me! I've had some pain shooting down my leg too. Maybe a nerve or something? I'm going back again today and hopefully he can fix my back. Wish me luck!

Yikes....sorry Kathy! Glad you didn't do any major damage. Hope you don't get too sore. Good for you on finishing your run! Thanks for feel better wishes! Hope you feel better too!

I am having to take the weekend off from running. I have been lifting weights the past couple of week and I think I pulled a muscle between my neck and right shoulder blade. Yesterday I couldn't move my neck and it hurt to even breathe! Today is much better but I'm still in pain. I hope by Monday I can at least run even if I have to hold back on the weight lifting. Everyone is still doing great!!

DEgirl...Wow! You look great! You are so small now!
-
Welcome Luv2scuba! Carol...that's great! I think you'll be ready in plenty of time. I'm sure you will do great! I had another great run tonight! I did a 20 minute straight run and then did high(er) speed intervals the rest of the time. I am feeling soooo much better than I did a week ago. Keep up the great work guys!

Question: Do you mix the grapes with the jello powder or a pack of pre-made jello? And how many grapes do you use? I need a healthy snack that will conquer my sweet craving. Okay...my problem is sweets, pure and simple. It's always been my problem, and unfortunately...sweets go right down. It's a constant struggle with me. Add that to late night snacking and it's a real problem. Let's tackle these problems together and see if we can get a handle on them! -
Do you need to lose those pounds you've gained?
georgia girl replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey mamato! Being sick is part of what has gotten me off track the last few months. It's hard to start up again after that. Good for you! Setting goals is an awesome way to keep motivation. I started running again too. I'm not following the c25k program, just doing my own thing. I've started incorporating sprints into my runs and it's really fun! I also joined up on another Nike+ challenge, so my competitive nature has already kicked in! My new goal is getting to ONEDERLAND. I'm going to keep the exercise going strong and work really hard on eating better. I did pass up brownies yesterday and I was proud of myself for that! -
I had a great run again today. I did a short straight run and then did sprints again. This time I started out going for 45 sec at 8 mph. I did quite a few like that, then bumped it down to 45 sec at 7 mph. I'm finally starting to feel like myself again!

Hi everyone! Man, I wish I had seen this thread a few months ago, lol. A little background on myself...I had my surgery in Sept 2007 and on my Bandiversary I had lost a total of 100 lbs...went from 330 to 230. That's the first goal I had set for myself and I was STOKED that I was able to accomplish it! At my lowest I was 221 lbs. Well, I've been too scared to weight, so I don't know exactly how much I have gained, but I'm guessing somewhere between 10-15 pounds. For the past few days I have done really well. I've been eating better and I started running again. I feel soooo much better. My lapband doctor has been monitoring my Fluid because I keep losing some. IF I have a leak, it's a pretty slow one. But none the less, I am still able to eat a lot of food. I've never gotten to my sweet spot. My fills usually last a week or two, then it's back to eating like a pig. Low carb usually works best for me, but it is soooo hard to stick to. I have PCOS, so insulin resistance plays a factor in all this too. I know what part of my problem is. I have a perfectionist gene, lol. I do so well for a while, then I eat one little thing wrong and in my mind, I have failed. So I say, "why bother with the rest of the day since I've already screwed it up". It's a never ending battle. If I get sick or something gets in the way of exercising it totally throws me off. It's like, if I don't do everything to a "T", I'm a failure. Sorry for rambling on so long. I hope I can keep up what I have been doing and not fall of the wagon again. I'm glad I have somewhere to come and vent without getting blasted and told to "just do it". Thanks for listening! Congratulations on every one's progress! It's really inspiring! -
Thanks for setting it up Kathy! I need the motivation, lol. Good for you! Keep us posted on your training. Good luck with it! Glad you can still run! Hope the pain eases off for you.

Hey girlie! By looking at your avatar, I'd say you look pretty darn good!! I'm doing pretty good. I've been stuck for a while now and I'm just trying to get past it. Still have a long way to go, so hopefully I will get past this soon. Thanks for checking on me. How have you been doing?

Nike+ challenges are running challenges on the nike website. You have to have an ipod nano and the nike+ sports kit. There's a sensor that goes in your shoe and a chip that plugs into your ipod. It records your run info and then you download it to the nike+ website. The challenges are just competitions between people...like "who can run the most miles in a month, or two months, etc". It's good motivation.

Yes, last year we got to vote. I can't remember all the details though. I just remember voting for Ed because I didn't wan't Heba to be in the finale...

I just got back home from the gym and had a great run today! I decided to change things up a bit though. I watch The Biggest Loser and had always wanted to do the fast sprints like they do. They jump on and go really fast for about 30 seconds and jump off. Well, I ran 10 minutes straight, then did fast sprints for 30 seconds at a speed of 8.0 (really fast for me, lol). I walked about 60 to 90 seconds in between. It was really fun! Are there any nike+ challenges going on right now? Congrats Whosya on the frosty feeling challenge!!!

I am not going to miss Kristen at all. Her "coward" speech, which she has given twice, really annoyed me. Wake up...IT'S A GAME! Honestly, the only person I care about staying is Tara. The rest can go for all I care. In the beginning, I kinda liked Mike. I'm not big fan of his anymore though. I actually think Mike is a lot more like his dad than people think...he just hides it better. Of course he's not near as bad as daddy dearest, but I definitely see a lot of Ron in Mike. How could he not be? Look who raised him! Ron is probably the contestant I dislike the most, of every season. Ron and Vickie (from last season) are right there together IMO. Can't stand them!

CONGRATS Whosya!!! You have come such a long a way! I'm so very proud of you! Great time too! You are rockin' it man!!
