Share ideas, What did you eat today ?
georgia girl replied to kimmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think that was part of my problem too yesterday. Tomorrow I am going to try to eat more solid, filling foods during the day and hope I am not starving by night. -

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've posted. I haven't been doing so hot lately. I've been dealing with a lot of pain for the past month or so. I started having these terrible one sided headaches that had me crying hysterically and pacing the floor. My first thought was....brain tumor. Thank God that was not the case! But, I have been diagnosed with cluster headaches. I didn't even know these type of headaches existed. They are very rare and they are the worst kind of headache you can have. They are unpredictable! I have anywhere between 1-6 attacks a day. I started a steroid about two weeks ago and it has given me some relief from the headaches. Lately I have been having a couple of pain free days in between attacks. I am on a high dose steroid and I just started tapering down. I have about 3 & 1/2 more weeks on the steroid. It's making me HUNGRY ALL THE TIME!!! I think I've gained close to 10 pounds since starting them. I haven't been able to exercise, because it always brings an attack on. It's sooooo frustrating! I went from running 3 miles a day to doing nothing and the weight is piling on. I know I need a fill, but the headaches are taking all my energy and I just feel so BLAH! food has become my comfort! Please pray for me. -

Today was not as good as yesterday. I am going to post anyway. I stayed hungry most of the day yesterday and today, I gave in. I have 3 & 1/2 more weeks on this steroid! Lord help me... Today: B- Atkins shake, then some Special K crackers about an hour later L- Zaxbys- Teriyaki chicken strip meal (snacked on it on and off all day) D- Chinese take out- a mini eggroll, a few wontons, and some stir-fry rice S- Slice of lemon ice box pie  Sunday is also our "eat out" day. I hope I can do better the rest of the week. -
Wow...you sound like me, lol! I am a clutz too and have fallen several times while running outside. And it never fails...I always twist my ankle when I fall. I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself too badly. Who knew running could be so dangerous? LOL. Glad you are okay. Take care of yourself!

Hi guys! It's been a while since I posted, but I'm going to start logging my food again. I need the accountability. Today... B- 1 cup watermelon chunks, light yogurt S- 100 calorie pack cocoa roasted almonds L- 1 cup special k chocolatey delight w/ 1/4 cup lowfat milk S- protein shake D- making mini meatloaves (Tara's recipe from TBL), and corn on the cob This steroid I am on is making me CRAZY HUNGRY, so if I need a snack after dinner, it will probably be 100 calorie popcorn or a protein bar. -
Thank you mich! I really appreciate that. She may not have had success with the oxygen at the hospital if the flow rate wasn't high enough. It needs to be a minimum flow rate of 15 lpm. I've read that 25 lpm works the best, but most doctors start prescribing at 15. If she starts having them again, I'd say it would be worth a try. I'd much rather use the oxygen as an abort, rather than the imitrex shots. Thanks again for the reply! Hope your mom stays pain free for a looonnngg time!

Hi mich! Thanks for sharing that. It is a really bad illness that I didn't even know existed. I have heard that lithium works well for many and also a drug called verapamil, which is a blood pressure medicine, I think. Hopefully the Prednisone will break my cycle. If not, it's on to a different med. Did your mom every try high flow oxygen therapy? I hear it works really well in aborting the headaches. My insurance has approved for me to get it, just waiting on the healthcare supply company. I'm interested in knowing about the vibrating head band. Could you find out what it's called and let me know. I'll try just about anything. Hey heartfire! Thanks for the welcome back and prayers! Sorry about your migraines. I hope your med is working well for you. I will definitely keep posting...good to hear from you!

Thanks gone 4 ever. I really appreciate the prayers. Hopefully we will find a medication that will end my cycle. Thanks again! Thanks luluc! I've missed you too! Hey Suzanne! I haven't had a chance to read all the c25k posts. I skimmed through and saw a lot of new people. I am sorry your foot is not healing right. I know what you mean about running. I miss it soooo much! I hope we can both get better so we can run again! I have really missed the support I get from all my running buddies! Here's to a great day!

Hey guys! I know I have been MIA for a while now and I have missed ya'll! I haven't been able to run in a while and I miss it soooo much. I've been having a really rough time lately. I've been diagnosed with cluster headaches. I won't go into all the details right now. I posted in the support section if anyone wants to read it. I've been trying to catch up on all the posts and I've missed A LOT! I am sooo proud of all you! Lots of new people joined since I left. Welcome all! I guess I will have to get my running fix by reading everyone else's success! Keep up the good work ya'll!

WTG Mac!! That's wonderful!!

Hey Suzanne! I can definitely tell a big difference with this fill. It is soooo nice to not feel hungry all the time! I haven't been running though. We've been struggling financially, and we've had to cut some things from our budget. Unfortunately, our gym membership is one of the things we decided to cut. It is sooooo hot outside already and it's just going to get worse. I don't like running outside when it's dark, so I will probably try running about an hour before it gets dark this week. Thanks for asking about me. How have you been doing?
-
Sorry I haven't checked in guys. I've been a little down lately. I've got some family stuff going on and I haven't been doing much of anything. I have gained quite a bit of weight. I was embarrassed to even go for a fill, that's why I put it off for so long. I finally called last week and got my fill yesterday. Fingers crossed I will see a big difference. Glad to see you are back Renewed! I've missed you!

CONGRTULATIONS!! WTG!! That is a wonderful accomplishment! I remember when I ran my first 5K nonstop...it's a great feeling. Keep up the good work!

Hello all!! I've been MIA for a few days. Had such a busy weekend. I ran today for the first time since last Thursday. The weather has been wonderful here....cloudy, cool, and breezy. I know it won't last long though. Anyway, I had a good run today. Congrats to all of you who are doing so well! Keep up the good work!
-
Renewed...just wondering how it's going? Did you get to start running again? Hope to hear from you soon.
-
LOL...hopefully I won't fall again! I actually ran outside again tonight. It was almost dark when I started running, so it wasn't that hot. I got in 2 miles before I decided to call it quits.
-
I just turn on my ipod and go. Yeah, it gets a little boring sometimes, but I just do it. I'd much rather run on the treadmill than outside in this heat. I'm looking forward to Fall and will most definitely hit the pavement then.
-
Yeah, running outside will be rare for me. It's supposed to be back up to about 86-87 tomorrow. I do not like summer...too hot for me. I'm already ready for fall.
-
WTG Carol!! The weather here was soooo nice and cool this afternoon, so I decided to run outside. I know, not the best idea considering my track record right? It went well though. I didn't fall or even stumble, lol. I forgot how different it was to run outside. Much harder with the hills. Anyway, I won't do that very often because it is usually sooooo hot here.

I really wanted Tara to win *pout*. Helen did a great job, but I have to agree....she looked too thin for her age. Tara looked so beautiful and healthy! Mike looked good too. I hope he can help his brother lose weight now...
-
HOT MAMA!!! You look GREAT! Both dresses are beautiful. You look so young and hip in the ruffly dress. Congrats on your success...you look beautiful!
-
Hey everyone! DH and I went to the gym this afternoon and I got a run in. My back is doing pretty good so far. I ran really slow and took it much easier than normal. I ran 2.2 miles....YIPEE! I'm so glad to be moving again!
-
Wow...that's GREAT Kathy!! You should put that dress back on and get hubby to snap a picture for you to post. We want to see you in that hot red dress! So glad you posted! We are in the same boat....as always, lol. I've gained quite a few pounds myself. I just can't seem to get motivated. Maybe we can help motivate each other. I'm so glad you are posting again..I've missed you! That is wonderful!! Best of luck to you! Well, my run was a no-go. I had planned on running after DH got off from work, so he could stay with my son. Well, my mom and dad called and wanted my son to spend the night with them, so we had a date night. That is rare, so we took advantage of it! I will shoot for tomorrow!

Thanks. My back actually feels really good today. I called the chiropractor today and told him how well I was doing. He said I could try running tomorrow and see how it goes. He just said to take it really slow and to stop if I was feeling any pain. I think I will lay off the sprints for a while and just jog a steady, slow pace. I'm excited to get going again.
