Thanks Kristen! Suzanne- Sorry about the foot! I hope the cortizone helps you so you don't have to have surgery. As much as I want to start running again, I won't be able to until I'm positive my cluster cycle is over. Certain things seem to trigger the headaches and exercise is one of them. My doctor's appt got cancelled because my doc is home with the flu, so they scheduled me to go back on Monday. Hang in there Suzanne! Here's to hoping the cortizone works!! Keep me posted on how you're doing.

Hey Suzanne. The headaches have reduced in number since starting the Prednisone. I am gradually tapering off of them, but I have a little over two more weeks left on them. I've been having them on and off every few days. I go to the doctor tomorrow, so I'll let ya'll know what happens. Unfortunately I've blown up like a whale since starting the steroids. My face and stomach is SO swollen and fat looking. I look 7 months pregnant! It's really embarrassing because people are noticing the weight gain. I guess I'm in a rut and just praying I can get out soon! Thanks for asking about me. How is your foot doing? I hope it is better.

Thanks Kristen! I miss ya'll too! I've been peaking in from time to time, checking on ya'll. As soon as I think my cycle is over, I'm going to start back running again and see what happens. I'll probably start the c25k over from the beginning since I haven't ran in a couple of months.

Thanks Gloucester! Hey mich! Thanks for the info. I think I have one of those vibrating back massagers somewhere...I'll have to try to find it. I'll check into the Omega 3 supplements too. I have read that some people believe the climate changes has A LOT to do with it. I'm glad to hear that she doesn't have to deal with them as much anymore. My oxygen was delivered yesterday and I'm sooooo glad I have it. I haven't had to use it yet. I haven't had a headache in few days now and the break has been WONDERFUL! I will report back and let you know how the oxygen works though. I hope it works as good as everyone says it does. I am sooooo ready to get off this steroid though....I'm blowing up like a balloon!! The hunger is driving me absolutely crazy! I thought my doc was exaggerating when he said it would make me hungry.....NOPE! Thanks again for all the info! I really appreciate it!

This is true for me too. I've been banded almost 2 years now and I've never been at the "sweet spot". For some reason, I just don't get the restriction that others seem to get. I've only pb'ed 2 or 3 times since being banded and that's because I was just eating too fast, not because I was too tight. Today B- bowl of special k chocolatey delight S- SBD cinnamon raisin protein bar L- 2 leftover individual mini meatloafs S- 1 pk cinnamon roll flavored oatmeal, 1 tbsp pb2 D- 1.5 c leftover hamburger casserole My pb2 came in today and I used it in the oatmeal. I thought it was really good. I may try it in a protein shake tomorrow! -
I have made these a few times and I thought it was worth sharing. I was worried that the turkey would be dry, but it wasn't at all! I think the veggies kept them nice and juicy! I have also made this with lean ground beef and it was good too! NOTE: This recipe is REALLY spicy! The second time I made it I only put ONE chipotle pepper (SEEDS REMOVED) in the meat mixture and did not put any chipotle sauce in the ketchup mixture and it was much better to me....especially since we don't drink with our meals. Ingredients For Meat Loaf: 1 small yellow onion, coarsely chopped 1 medium carrot, peeled and coarsely chopped 1 stalk of celery, coarsely chopped 2 canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce 1 (20-ounce) package JENNIE-O TURKEY STORE® lean ground turkey breast 1/2 cup quick cooking oats 2 egg whites For Topping: 1/4 cup fat free and sugar free ketchup 1 tablespoon chipotle pepper adobo sauce 1 tablespoon brown sugar substitute (such as Splenda® Brand) Cooking Directions Preheat oven to 350°F. In the work bowl of a food processor, combine onion, carrots and celery. Pulse until finely chopped. Add chipotle peppers and pulse until just combined. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey with the pepper and vegetable mixture. Add egg whites and oats; gently mix until combined. Place about 1/3 cup of the prepared meatloaf mixture into 9 wells of a standard size muffin pan that has been lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, combine all of the topping ingredients in a small bowl; set aside. Remove meat loaves from oven and spoon the topping over each meatloaf. Return meatloaf to the oven and continue to bake for an additional 5-10 minutes or until meatloaf is firm and the internal temperature registers 170°F. Let meatloaf stand for 5 minutes before serving. Makes 9 mini loaves. Shredded cabbage in meatloaf???
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not at all! I tolerate greens fine, so eating it wouldn't be a problem for me. I was just wondering how well it would bind, but I'm guessing it would do just fine. I'm sure I will change up the recipe some. For some reason I can never just go strickly by a recipe. I always add or substitue something, lol. Here's the recipe... Ingredients: 1 pound extra lean ground beef or ground turkey 2 cups shredded cabbage 1 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon celery seed 1 tablespoon dried minced onion 1 egg, beaten Preparation: First, make foil "handles." Fold a 30-inch long piece of foil in half lengthwise. Place in bottom of a slow cooker with both ends hanging over top edge of cooker. The foil strip will make it much easier to remove the meatloaf when it's done. I also put a piece of crumpled foil in the bottom to keep the meatloaf out of the fat. Combine all ingredients; working with hands until blended. Shape into round loaf. Place meat loaf on rack or crumpled foil in 3 1/2 to 5-quart crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 6 hours. -

I would, but that would be ACTUAL work, lol! You are right, it is time consuming. I used to plant to where I'd have crops ready everyday, but lately I've only been planting the ones that take 4 days to be ready, so I don't have to do it as much. -

Hey LilMiss! I've been away from LBT for a couple of months and just started posting again, but I stay on facebook! I'm totally addicted! I'll send you a request. Oh, I'm totally addicted to farmtown too! I've been going crazy because it's been down and I have crops ready to harvest. Facebook will owe me a refund if my crops die! TTYL -
I watched it. I don't normally watch reality dating shows, but I was curious to see this one. I agree that they didn't need to show the girls heights and weights. We have eyes...we know they are not size 2's. I'm not sure if I will keep watching it or not. Part of me hates the whinning about not being able to date from being fat, and part of me just wants to see how it will play out...

Thanks Carol! I've been headache free for about 3 days now and I think I will try to walk tonight. Saying I'm going to go walking sounds sooooo weird to me, lol. I do miss running and will be glad when I can start back. I'm sure I will have to start all over, but that's okay. On a good note, I'm finally getting my oxygen today! It should help greatly in aborting the headaches. Kathy- Hope you are feeling better soon. I hear ya on the money situation. It seems like we will never get ahead. Living paycheck to paycheck has become the norm for us. We've actually gotten pretty good at it, lol!
