Mushie Tuna Casserole 2 small cans tuna, drained well 1 can peas & carrots, drained 1 can condensed broccoli cheddar soup 1/4 cup mayo 2 eggs salt & pepper to taste (go easy on the salt) 1/2 cup cheeze it crackers, finely crushed (optional) Mix tuna, soup, mayo, eggs, peas & carrots, S & P. Pour into a casserole dish and bake @ 375 for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle crackers on top and bake 10 more minutes. I am getting tired of tuna salad so i was trying to think of more inventive ways to use tuna. I made it for dinner tonight and it was sooo good.

Thanks renewedhope! I also look forward to watching your progress. Good luck on Wednesday and let me know how you are doing. -
I don't know about everyone else but i am getting tired of the same ol' foods. Here's an alternative to tuna salad. I used to make a tilapia recipe with a cream sauce over it so I decided i would try to make a tilapia salad with it. It was pretty good. 1 frozen tilapia (Baked or cooked in skillet w/ a little EVOO) 1-2 teaspoons of mayo 1/2-3/4 teaspoon of dijon mustard A couple of pinches of dried dill weed Just flake the fish with a fork and add all other ingredient and mix together. Add salt and pepper if desired. :hungry:

Hi Minnie, I have BCBS federal insurance. I didn't have a problem with them but some people say they have. I was approved in less than 2 weeks. Congratulations and keep us posted. Good luck! -

Jeannie, Sorry you're having such a hard time with them. Is your BMI high enough? Do you have any other weight related problems? It doesn't make any sense to me. Dr. B's office handled everything for me and i didn't have to do anything. -

Jeannie, Has Dr. B already sent the paperwork to the insurance company? It only took about 1&1/2 weeks to get mine back. That's strange to me that the insurance co. says to go ahead and they will review it later...weird. Anyway, hope you get approved soon. Pamela Banded 9-20-07 -

Jeannie, I haven't had any problems with my port. You'll need to take it very easy for a couple of weeks. I tried to pick up my toddler a little too soon and i felt it pull just a little. My port incision is completely covered by my bra and it hasn't been irritated or anything. It has actually healed better than the other incisions. I think Dr. B knew what he was doing when he decided to put the port on the chest. My husband is a mail carrier in Moultrie. Which office do you work at? Pamela Banded 9-20-07
-

Hi Jeannie! :clap2:Congratulations on setting your date! I hope everything works out 4 u. Please keep in touch and let me know how everything is going. Pamela Banded 9-20-07 -
Hi Everyone! Just thought it would be interesting to get a poll started on where your surgeon placed your ports. My surgeon didn't place mine on my stomach. Mine is on the left side of my chest, above my breast. My bra strap covers it up. Just wondering about everyone else. Pamela Banded on 9-20-07

I was banded 9-20-07 and for the first few days I could only take a sip every 10-15 minutes. It really depends on how tight you are and also the swelling plays a big part. Everyone is different but i definetly could not get that much down until about a week after my surgery. So it will get better. Hang in there. Pamela

Where is your port?
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 9-20-07, so you can still see my incision right now but i don't think it will be noticable when it heals. The incision is right under where the bra strap meets the front of the bra on the left side. My bra doesn't even rub against it so it doesn't bother me at all. It has actually healed better than the other incisions. Pamela Banded 9-20-07 -
Where is your port?
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Right now, my port is totally covered by my bra. It's a lot lower than right under the collar bone. I'm with you, i would think if it was that high on the chest, it would be seen when the weight comes off. I really hope that mine stays hidden when i lose the weight. Pamela Banded 9-20-07 -

Hi Jeannie, I'm sure he won't think you're a nut. I know exactly how you feel. I was so excited but so nervous at the same time. My recovery is going great! My incisions are healing nicely. He put my port on the left side of my chest above my breast. My bra strap covers it perfectly. I'm so excited for you. Let me know how your appt. goes on Monday. Take care. Pamela Banded 9-20-07 -
I wasn't up for much of anything 4/5 days after my surgery. I was still getting nauseated at that point and a little sore. Everyone is different so i hope you are able to. Pamela Banded 9-20-07

Hi klpdbl, I am also in Albany and have just started the process with Dr bagnato. I am so glad you are happy with him. How long did it take from the time you started to finish all of your presurgery visits? I ask because I have a time frame that I am shootingfor but don't know if it is reasonable.. It looks like you weight loss is going great! __________________ Jeannie Hi Jeannie, When I made the decision to use Dr. Bagnato, I went for my pre-op appt and scheduled my surgery about 3 weeks from that day. I could have had the surgery earlier but i was trying to schedule it when my husband had some time off so he could take care of our son while i recovered. I think he requires everyone to be on the Sugarbusters diet for at least 2 weeks to shrink the liver. Congratulations on making the decision to change your life! Please keep writing and let me know how things are going. Pamela Banded 9-20-07 330/299/150 -

Thanks for all your replys! Pennie- Thanks for the encouraging words. If I had the option to stay in the hospital, I was not aware of it. But thats great that you can. I was blessed to have such a great experience with my surgery. Keep me posted! Carol- I'm only about 45 minutes from albany. I wanted to ask you if you have been banded? How Long? It's so encouraging to hear of other peoples success! Wendy- Thanks for all the great info. It's encouraging to know that some of the side effects will get better. I know this 6 month diet is going to be hard and long, but one day you'll look back and know that it was all worth it. Keep up the good work and keep me posted! You all have a great evening!
