Dehydration and workouts?
georgia girl replied to bigcountry's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Bigcountry! I've never had a problem either. I can pretty much drink normally as before with the exeption of gulping a whole bottle of water at once. Right after surgery is when I was very limited. I had to take small sips for a while, but once the swelling went down I was able to drink normal. -
On The Way To Being Banded For Life
georgia girl replied to BabyCat's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I lost 16 lbs pre-op and about 10 lbs the week after my surgery. I was on Clear Liquids for an entire week so I didn't have many calories that week. Since then I've lost 14 lbs. It's coming off a lot slower now. -
Congrats on the weight loss!!! That's awesome!

Buttercup, that's terrible. Hopefully when the coordinator tells the doctor your situation, he will be able to squeeze you in. I hope everything works out for you. Let us know when you hear something. -

that time of the month
georgia girl replied to blooh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have PCOS too! I started having regular cycles about a year ago. I had lost some weight and Boom, they started coming. I still deal with all the other symptoms and I am actually going to an endocrinologist at the end of the months to see if she can straighten out my hormones. I sing as well and I was able to perform 2 weeks after surgery. Good luck! -

Hi everyone! I told all of you that I had a fill on the 1st and I was feeling no restriction at all. Well today, for whatever reason, I felt it. I've heard others say that it can take a coulple of weeks to kick in. I'm not sure if it was a freak thing or if I'm feeling restriction now. At least I'm feeling something, I was beginning to wonder if it was really in there. -
I was contemplating on whether or not I should purchase to Bodybugg because it is soooo expensive. I signed up today at The Daily Plate and decided I would try this first, plus it's free.

Green Giant Healthy Weight Vegetables
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If anyone uses The Daily Plate for calorie tracking, you can find these vegetables listed under Green Giant Healthy Weight. I tried putting "vegetables" on the end and could not get it to come up. Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate -
I just discovered these and they are great! I've been having a hard time getting my vegetables in and I was grocery shopping at Wal-Mart and came across these. It's called Green Giant Healthy Weight Vegetables. It consists of sliced carrots, sugar snap peas, black beans and edamame lightly tossed with a butter sauce. It comes in a small box in the frozen section and it has 2 servings : 90 cal, 2.5g fat, 5g protein per serving. I noticed it goes down better than others I have tried and it is delicious!

losing jusme's quest to the Minnie marathon
georgia girl replied to losingjusme's topic in Fitness & Exercise
LJM, you are truly and inspiration and you have given me hope that maybe one day I can run in a marathon. Good luck, we'll be cheering for you! -
I went to the acti trainer website ActiTrainer Online Data Analysis - ActiGraph, LLC. and I was wondering if anyone knows what the promotional coupon code is. I know that the bodybugg website had one at one time and it took about $50 off of the original price. Thanks in advance!

Hello to all - singer here
georgia girl replied to pc201's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome pc201! I'm a singer too. I'm not a classical singer, but I sing at church and at community events. I love to sing and I was able to sing at church 2 weeks after my surgery. Your abdominal muscles will be sore at first, I noticed I was able to take big breaths and hold them close to my 2 week post-op. Congratulations and good luck in your lap band journey! -
:welcome: Parrot! Congrats on your upcoming surgery and Good luck!

New to the board and from Ohio!
georgia girl replied to flashkatt's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome flashkatt! I'm sorry that your FIL makes fun of you. My husbands family has never actully made fun of me, but I see the looks they give me because everyone else in their family is thin. It's hard, but we can have the last laugh. I am a stay at home mom too, and that makes it super hard because I used to graze all day so I've really started trying to keep busy all the time so I won't think about food. Good luck at the meeting! -
Welcome Eulete! Wow, your surgery will be here before you know it. You are very lucky that your insurance company pays 100%. I have good insurance too, mine paid 90% and I feel very blessed because without that I never would have been able to do it. I will pray for you as you face the liquid diet and the upcoming surgery. Good luck and take care!

The doctor I used requires everyone to go to a lap-band seminar first. I know all doctors are different, but maybe going to a seminar first (if you haven't already) would help your transition into this process. I got a lot of great info and it helped me feel more confident and comfortable talking to the doc about the procedure. Good Luck!

Wow, I think you've got Bloo beat. I would go absolutely nuts having to wait 5 months to eat solids. Good Luck! Mine was: 1 week - clear liquids 2 weeks- full liquids 3 weeks- mushy and soft food At 6 weeks post-op I started solids
