Several years ago (I think it was in 2003), I lost about 50 lbs on a low carb diet and I started having a regular cycle. We tried for about 2 years after the weight loss and finally in 2005 I became pregnant. I now have a healthy boy that is 20 months old. Even though I wasn't banded yet, the 50 lb weight loss helped tremendously. I plan on trying to have another baby after I get to my goal weight. I wish you the best of luck!

I was worried about the weight loss too. In my mind, I thought that either I wouldn't lose or it would be very slow (I'm not a very patient person). So far I have had good results. My doctor assured me as well that the band would benefit me better than anything else could. Hope you meet your goal by Thanksgiving. You can do it.

Well, whatever they do, I hope something will work. My regular Gyno has done nothing for me. It's weird but the birth control didn't help much and the glucophage gave me headaches. I got feed up with it and just stopped taking everything, so I've been going untreated for quite a while now (I know, I know). Maybe this doctor will be able to help me.

The promotional coupon code for the Actitrainer is FM07111. The lady I spoke to said that today at 5:00pm was the deadline to use the code. It only takes $10.00 off the price, but every little bit counts.

I am so glad to hear from someone who has lost all of their weight and how it has improved the symptoms. I lost some weight a few years ago and began having a regular cylcle but I stil deal with the mood swings, hair growth, hot flashes and skin breakouts. I go to an endocrinologist at the end of this month so hopefully she will be able to help with some of the symptoms. It's encouraging to know that it can get better.

Hi gweniper! They did an ultrasound on me and I didn't have any cysts. It was confusing but apparently you can have PCOS without having cysts. PCOS probably showed up in your blood work too.

I know what you mean. I've had one fill and no restriction right now. Looking forward to fill #2 on Thursday.

Colsie, I believe jelbel was referring to the above statement.

Hey Laurend! Thanks for your reply. Looks like your weight loss is going great. Mine came off really fast at first and now it has slowed down quite a bit. Hey, I'm just happy I'm not gaining for once in my life LOL!

It really is a great workout. I was surprised at how many muscles I used. My abs are so sore (sounds crazy, I know, but it's true). It kinda feels like I did about 200 situps. Each day I'm able to do a little more. Like you, I like to shock the body by switching it up.

Intro, waiting for surgery
georgia girl replied to vzghj3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Vzghj3! Welcome! I was not comfortable with the mortality rate attached to the Bypass. The lap band was much less invasive and I have had such a great experience so far. I also wanted something that could help me for life and I know a few people that have had the bypass and they did really great but gained all the weight back over several years. The lap band just made sense to me. Good luck on your weight loss journey! -
On the way for my Dad And me!
georgia girl replied to Chienne's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Chienne! Welcome to LBT! It's so great that you and your dad are going through this together. The support here is great, but it would be so wonderful to have someone to share the experience with in RL. Congratulaions to both of you and good luck! -
Two days away from banding...
georgia girl replied to asillygirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Sillygirl (love the SN)! Welcome to LBT! Congrats on your surgery. Most doctors have different post-op instructions, so what are your post-op instructions? I had to do Clear liquids for a week so I bought lots of Jello, popsicles, broth(which I could not drink-hate the taste), low sugar apple juice and bottled Water. Congrats again and good luck on your surgery tomorrow! -

Dr. Marina Kurian - Just Set -- NYU w/ Dr. Kurian!
georgia girl replied to comepickmeup's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Welcome Comepickmeup! I too have PCOS. Even though I'm still fairly new to the lap band, I can tell you first hand that weight loss has helped me with PCOS already. I lost about 50 lbs a few years ago and since then I have had a regular cycle every month and I have a son that is 20 months old. So if 50lbs can do that, imagine what 100+ pounds can do. I hope your insurance comes through for you, but if it doesn't, this will be well worth the price. Good luck and God bless! -
Hi Amy and welcome!:bounce: Congratulations on your surgery Tuesday! This site does have a lot of awesome info. Congrats again and good luck on Tuesday!

7 months and discouraged
georgia girl replied to kellyjayne's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Kellyjayne! I am a night owl. I have trouble with wanting to eat at night. Before I got banded I would snack a lot late at night. Lately when I feel like I want to eat junk at night, I make myself some Chai tea with skim milk and splenda. It also calms my sweet tooth. Like Sue, I also try to plan meals ahead of time. I also do a lot of freezing so I can just pop it in the microwave when I'm on the go. Good luck! -
I'm interested as well. Right now I am leaning towards the Actitrainer because of the price difference, but would like to know the details of both devices.
-
I called the Actitrainer phone number on the website and left them a message asking them if they could give me the promotional code, so I am waiting on them to call me back (it will probable be Monday) but I will let everyone know when I hear.
