1000 calories and still not losing!! help!
georgia girl replied to short c's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've noticed that I go through spurts of losing and not losing. I went 2 weeks without losing a single pound and then boom.....3 or 4 pounds come off. Maybe you've just hit a small plateau (spelling?). -
Are fills painful? Banded 2 weeks ago!
georgia girl replied to Nick the Nurse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first fill hurt really bad. She gave me the lidocaine but I don't think she gave me enough because it stung sooo bad.... I have an appt Thursday, and hopefully another fill. Just hope it's not as bad as the first. -

What does support look like?
georgia girl replied to Kimber's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Kimber. I was fortunate to have my husband for a whole week. We planned it around his vacation. If you're spending one night in the hospital, you will probably be okay the next night. That being said, everyone is different and has different experiences. It might be a good idea to have someone on stand-by in case you do need someone. I wish you good luck with your surgery and take care. -

Hey Jeannie! I don't recall taking a pill right before surgery. I did have a nausea braclet on my wrist when I woke up. It almost looks like a watch. Its sends a little shock through your body and you can adjust the amount of shock according to how nauseated you are. I really don't know why I was so nauseated. The more I moved around, the more nauseated I would get. They prescribed me some Phenergan supositories that seemed to work sometimes. I've never been put to sleep prior to being banded so it could have been due to that. The nurse at Dr. B's seemed to think it was because I was dehydrated. Anyway, maybe you won't have to go through that. Don't be nervous, you're going to do great. I wish you luck on your big day. God bless. -
Congratulations Debbie! Good luck on your surgery!

Need a kick in the pants!
georgia girl replied to ladybug97's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
:whip: This is as close to a kick in the pants as I could find. LOL. I know it's hard to change old eating habits, but you just need to get back on track. It is a sacrifice that will be well worth it in the end. It would be a shame if this 6 month insurance waiting period was all for nothing. Does your nutritionist have you on a specific diet plan or did they tell you to lose it however you wanted to? If not, you might want to consider cutting out carbs since you don't have very long until your next appt. Eating low carb can make pounds come off rather quickly. Good luck and I hope you are able to lose the weight in time. -
Hello....I was banded 9-20-07 and I was very nervous too. The pain wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck on your lap band journey!

georgia girl replied to taffiegirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the AP small (10cc) band. I've had one fill of 2cc and I have no restriction either. I go back Thursday, so I will let you know if fill #2 does the trick. -

Hi Smsmithart! I know how you feel. I have to deal with moodiness and fatigue all the time. I do think it has gotten a little better since being banded and look forward to getting even better as the weight comes off. Good luck and hope you are able to get banded soon! PS- You should check out the PCOS thread in General lap band discussion. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f17/those-who-have-pcos-44999/ -
Welcome to LBT! I was banded in September also. Good luck and Congrats on the weight loss!

Good luck! Hope you get approved! :bounce: -
Thanks Chickie! I'm not a huge meat fan either, especially since I am finding it harder to go down. I usually get frustrated with the meat and end up finding something else to eat. Thanks for answering all my questions.
-
Hey renewedhope! I'm so sorry most of your family is sick. I hope they get better soon. I was thinking about you the other day, wondering how things were going for you. I feel like I am eating more than I should too. I go for an appt on Thursday and I hope to get another fill. Again, I hope your family is better soon.
-
Hi Chickie, I am curious about vegetarianism. Do you eat any meat? If not, what do you eat for Protein? What do you do when you eat out? Sorry for all the questions but I am willing to do just about anything that will help with the weight loss and you are living proof that someone with PCOS can do it. Thanks in advance!

Surgeon tried to change my mind to RNY
georgia girl replied to abutterfly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I know a couple of people, one in particular, that had the bypass, and over years she has gained everything back, plus some. The lap band is something that can stay with you for life and that was the main reason I chose lap band. I have about 180 lbs to lose (maybe more?) and so far I've had very good results. Good luck with your WLS journey! -

Jeannie, I can't believe your surgery is almost here. I just know you're going to have a great experience. Dr. Bagnato is wonderful and so was the staff at Palmyra. In regards to your question, I was feeling pretty good on day 5. I had quite a bit of nausea and I'm not sure if it was due to dehydration or being put to sleep. Hopefully you won't have that problem. Good luck and I will be praying for you. -
Hi jfran! Just wanted to tell you that you look GREAT! Whatever you're doing is working. Good luck with everything!
