    50 lbs Down!!!!

I am so excited :whoo:.........today I am officially 50 lbs down. I have been close to it for a while and today it finally happened. I still have a really long way to go, but I am just amazed at how much my lifestyle has changed since being banded.

    Any Medical Transcriptionists Out There????

Thanks for the info Jachut. This is something I have been wanting to do for years, even before I was a SAHM. I love being a mom, but I feel like that is all I am, just a mom. So I would love to be able to do both from home. Thanks again.

    For those who have PCOS

I'm not on the pill either.......but I told the doctor that we were using another form of birth control and she said that it was okay. I'm going to have to be really careful. I do want to have another baby, but not until I get to my goal weight. I was on bed rest for most of my pregnancy due to my weight causing swelling and high blood pressure. I just want to be healthier next time.

Feel food going through your band?

Sometimes, if I eat too fast, I can feel the same sensation but it goes away pretty quickly. I just have to remember to slow down. Maybe I'm imagining things too, but I swear sometimes I can hear things passing through the band LOL.
  7. I've had mine just over 2 months and I love it!!!! No complications so far.

    For those who have PCOS

Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure if it will help me, but I am willing to give it a try, at least until I can afford to have the laser hair removal. How long has it been since you had the laser hair removal and have you stayed hair-free, for the most part? Will you have to go back every other year for the rest of your life?

    Newbie from Georgia

Hey Renewedhope. How's the new baby? I have a 10cc band, my first fill was 2ccs and I had no restriction either. My second fill was another 2ccs and I had pretty good restriction for about a week. Now I'm back to being able to eat anything too. It's been really hard to stay on top of this, but I'm just trying to hold out and do the best I can until I get to my "sweet spot". SugarBusters is a really good diet. I did it for my pre-op diet and I lost 16 lbs in about 3 weeks. Good luck and don't be discouraged. Once you get some decent restriction, things will be a lot easier.

    HEY Y'all!-Fellow Cysters(PCOS) 911!!

Hey Apples! Congrats on your surgery coming up. I have PCOS as well and the band has really helped me. I don't think that Gastric Bypass is any better than the band for people with PCOS, IMO. Chickie may be able to tell you more about PCOS and losing weight with the band. (I hope you don't mind me sharing this, Chickie). She posted on the PCOS thread that since losing the weight, a lot of her PCOS symptoms have subsided or gotten better. Look at her results........ nothing short of amazing! So, I believe that women with PCOS can lose weight with the band just as well as Bypass patients. Good luck and I wish you well.

    Bad day

I know how you feel. I used to work at a bank and people freak out if you can't do every little thing they want. I was so surprised that people could be so arrogant and rude. That is why I will never work at a bank again. Hope you find a new job soon.

    For those who have PCOS

Hey Jfran! I'm glad to hear that you did see an improvement. I would never know, by looking at your most recent photo, that you ever had a hair problem or skin problem. Your complexion looks so good. I was also worried about losing the hair on my head. So far (knock on wood), I haven't had any hair thinning. I have very thick, dark hair and I hope it stays that way. Thanks again and congrats on your weight loss!

    For those who have PCOS

Hey Laurend! The Endo did not want to put me on BC because I have been having a regular period since losing weight. The acne isn't nearly as bad as the facial hair. So I am hoping this medicine will at least minimize some of the hair or make it a little more bearable. My facial hair sounds exactly like yours. I have fair skin and very dark, course hair or chin-pubes if you will. Thanks for the tip on Proactive. I have seen the commercials on TV and heard that it works, so it's nice to hear from someone that confirms it. I think I may give it a try. I will eventually get the laser hair removal done, but I can't afford it right now. Thanks for the info.

    For those who have PCOS

Thanks for all the info. I hope this medicine will at least make the hair growth bearable. It's so frustrating and embarrassing. I think the weight loss will help more than anything. Thanks again.

    For those who have PCOS

Hi everyone! I went to an endocrinologist today and just wanted to tell how it went. Of course, they want to do a bunch of blood work. I'm not looking forward to that. Anyway, she prescribed me Spironolactone for my hair growth and acne. I found this on the web: What treatments are available for polycystic ovarian syndrome? For acne or excess hair growth, a Water pill (diuretic) called spironolactone may be prescribed to help reverse these problems. The use of spironolactone requires occasional monitoring of blood tests because of its potential effect on the blood potassium levels and kidney function. My question is, has anyone ever used this pill and has it helped with the acne and hair growth? Thanks.
