I have started something now
georgia girl replied to misspeesh95621's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome Misspeesh! I have PCOS too and I have already seen a big difference. I'm having a regular period every month, I'm not as tired, and my mood swings are a little bit better. I think it will get even bettter with time. I used to play softball as well and I really miss being active and having fun. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you! -
Congratulations!!! I know what you mean, I've been on several low carb diets in my life and I was just amazed at how many I consumed on a daily basis. Good luck with your pre-op diet and with your surgery!
-
Yes, I believe it is called the "Joy Fit Club". I actually did gain a couple of pounds in the past few weeks and just now lost them back. We all work really hard, just as hard as anyone else.
-
Congrats, Shoegirl! I was very fortunate that my insurance covered it as well. What a blessing! Good luck on your pre-op diet, it will be hard with the holiday comimg up, but just stick to it and it will be well worth it.

life is changing and, it feels good.

:welcome: Miss Maudie! When are you getting banded? Your surgeon was right to recommend this site, there is a lot of great info here. Good luck to you and I wish you the best! -
I like to sing, paint (mostly whimsical trees), take pictures, play with my son, and spend time with my family.
-
Thanks for the info. I plan on having it done someday and it's good to know that you have had success with it. If you don't mind me asking, how long ago did you have it done and how many treatments did it take?
-
Thanks. I'm glad you are doing well. I know how hectic it can be with just one small child, so I know with 2 small ones your hands are full. I'm right there with you, I don't have much restriction either. But, for the last couple of days, I've had a little more restriction. I'm not sure if it is stress making me tighter or what. I've been taking some online classes and with Christmas coming up, it's just been busy. I go back Thursday for an assessment, so hopefully I will get a fill before Christmas. I haven't lost any weight either in the last few weeks. I did buy an elliptical for myself for Christmas, maybe this will motivate me to get back on track. It was so good to hear from you. You're doing great!

band cut my stomach open too tight
georgia girl replied to TryingHard's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so sorry to hear this. I know you must be scared. I'm praying that you find a surgeon to help you and that you get well soon. -
Coastlgrl I am feeling the same way. I was doing so good and this past week I have been eating junk and not exercising. I know I need a fill as well and I go next Thursday for one. I just bought an eliptical and my husband put it together today. Hopefully this will inspire me to get back on track. Hope it gets better for you soon.

Pre-op suppository and SHORT ARMS!
georgia girl replied to divaofsongs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mona, That was the funniest post! Unfortunately, I had to use to Phenergan suppositories post-op, I was nauseated for about 5 days after surgery, even with the patch and a nausea braclet. DH had to put mine in as well..........it wasn't fun. We had trouble with the first one as well, I won't go into detail but the experience was similar to yours, except we were at home, thank goodness. -
LOL. That's a good one.

I don't have very many anymore. I used to bite my nails and pick at my skin. I only have one now thats quite obsessive. I absolutely cannot go to bed without cleaning the wax out of my ears with a Q-tip. I do it everynight. I know it's not good to put those in my ear, but I can't stop. There have been a couple of times that I forgot to do it and woke up in the night to clean them out. My DH thinks I'm loco for doing this.

Just thinking about that is making me gag! That must have very awkward...........well, that's an understatement. I think you are right not to tell your father, that's just gross.............

Apples, here is a link to sleep apnea symptoms Sleep Apnea-Symptoms
-
Apples, you have such a great attitude. I'm not sure I could be as positive as you if I had gone through that. What an inspiration you are. Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea? I was going through that a few months before I had surgery. I felt sleepy during the day and my muscles ached and I just felt exhausted all the time. My Primary Physician recommended a sleep study and sure enough, I have sleep apnea. It's something you might want to look into. Many people don't realize how dangerous it can be for your health, if left untreated (heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and more). Check it out, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Hey Steve. I'm sorry your insurance doesn't cover the surgery. I have BCBS Federal Employee Plan and luckily, they covered 90% of the procedure. You're right, it is ridiculous that they cover penile implants and not lapband surgery. Just do all the research you can about lapband and when you feel confident that your well educated, jump in. Good luck at your seminar. Here is a link to a thread about questions to ask reguarding pre-op and post-op http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f73/surgery-questions-ask-20271/ Good luck to you and I hope everything works out for you. -

That's okay, thank's anyway. I have some chai tea that I got from Winn Dixie, but I do want to look for that SF apple cidar. Is the apple cidar a liquid or a powder? And also, what brand is the cidar? If I can't find it at Wal-mart or Winn Dixie, I'll look online for some. Thanks. -
Well said, Wheets. I totally agree.

Did anyone have nausea after banding?
georgia girl replied to dna's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had terrible nausea right after surgery, for about 5 days to be exact. I never actually vomitted but came close several times. I thought it was due to the pain medication, so I stopped taking it. It continued and my doctor suggested that I could be dehydrated, because I only got nauseated when I moved around. I won't lie, it was aweful. Once my swelling went down and I was able to drink more, it got better. I haven't had any nausea since. It can be rough, but it was all worth IMO. -
