I think the hardest thing for me has been to take small bites. I've gotten used to chewing really well and not drinking with my meals, but I still take huge bites and sometimes swallow too much at one time. I'm getting better at it though. I've never PB'ed but I do feel some pain occasionally if I swallow too much.

8cc fill w/ a 10cc band...y am i still hungry???
georgia girl replied to Karen85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Karen Are you losing 1-2 lbs per week? Maybe I'm the only one, but I don't think a small peice of Protein and a cup of salad is too much, especially at dinner. I usually drink a shake for Breakfast (I am tighter in the mornings and I'm not a real big "breakfast eater" anyway), 3/4 cup of chili or a small peice of lean meat and some veggies for lunch, and I can pretty much eat whatever I want by evening. I still try to keep it fairly small, but I eat more at night than during the day. I agree with everyone about the protein. Eat that first and then move to veggies if there is room. If I were you, I wouldn't worry as much about measuring food as long as you are losing. Looks like you are doing pretty good from looking at your stats. Hope this helps and hope things get better for you. -
Is it possible to shrink your pouch if you think you've stretched it out?
georgia girl replied to dacer123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you saying that your doctor said your band is almost full? I also have a 10cc band and I have 5cc in it right now. I do have some restriction but not as much as I would like. I've heard some people say that they have about 6-7 cc in their band before they get to their "sweet spot". Have you asked your doctor about this and what did heshe say? -

Hi and welcome to the site. Your weighloss is going great! I was banded 9-20-07 and have lost 55 lbs. I've noticed it is coming off a lot slower now. How are you feeling since surgery? Keep up the good work, you are doing great!

Dazzle feeling Frazzled
georgia girl replied to Dazzle's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Dazzle, What kind of pre-op diet are you on? In all honesty, mine wasn't that bad. I was on the sugar busters diet for 2 weeks. I was very fortunate not to have to do a liquid diet. Hang in there, I know it is rough right now, but just think about how much healthier you will be. Good luck with your surgery and let us know how it goes. -

Do you know if you'll have to do a pre-op diet yet or will you be able have the surgery pretty soon after approval? -

With all the bickering about Christmas and the reason for the season...

Awe, it's okay......we still love ya! If truth be known, I can be a little ditsy sometimes too. LOL -
No worries, the majority of customers were very satisfied. 80% gave high praises. It's just like any other product, there are always going to be some flukes in the bunch.

Yes, the magic bullet is wonderful, it works so much better than any other blender I've ever owned. I just ordered the Bella Cucina from Macy's for my sister. It seems very similar to the MB and it's on sale for $19.99. I'm all about saving money and this is a great deal.
-
Wow, if I were you, I would order now. It seems to be very similar to the magic bullet. That's a great deal! Thanks for the info.

I've tried the south beach and the kashi bars, I like both of them. Also, GNC has a good Protein powder. It's called Pro Performance ( I bought the chocolate caramel and mixed it with skim milk). For some reason, it wasn't as lumpy as some of the others I tried.
-
At first it did a little, but now that I know how to use it, it's all good. What is the name of the blender that is similar to the magic bullet and where do you get it? I was thinking of getting one for my sister (she's getting married) but if there is one that is similar and cost less, I'd rather get that one.

I have the Magic Bullet and it is wonderful. You can get it at Wal-Mart for $54.97. It's a little pricey, but so worth it.

What a difference a few pounds can make...
georgia girl replied to ebar822's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded in September and I seem to lose in spurts. I can stay the same for a few weeks.... then BAM, I drop 5 or 6 pounds. I still lose this way, even though I am on solids. I know I'm not in starvation mode. I think people just lose at different rate and in different ways. Congratulations on the weight loss. It really does make a difference in the way we feel. Good luck to you! -
Has your significant other lost weight with you?
georgia girl replied to NukeChik's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No, mine hasn't lost any. I'm trying to encourage him to. We were both very thin when we met, I think he only weighed 145 lbs. Over the years his weight has risen up to 240 lbs. He probably needs to lose about 60-70lbs. He looked really healthy when he weighed about 175. I'm hoping he will try to lose some weight. It's all about being healthy for me. Hopefully he will jump on board soon. -
Albany GA bandsters - speak up...

The Sugar Busters Diet wasn't that bad for me either. I still ate bread, just made sure it was whole grain bread. Like nip50 said, just stay away frome the white stuff. Good luck! -
I have always wanted to audition too! I agree, it is a popularity contest. Maybe when I get to goal I'll have the guts to audition......probably not, but hey, a girl can dream.

Yes, I had the lovely experience of mother nature during surgery. They would not allow me to wear a pad or a tampon in surgery. They put something underneath me, so it wasn't really a big deal, just a little aggravating.

Tell me about that 1st full day you were home
georgia girl replied to gingerbug's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stayed in the bed. Hubby took off for a couple of weeks and was able to take care of my son. I had pretty bad nausea for 5 days, I think I was dehydrated. Walking will be good for you, if you are able. Good luck to you. -
I tried the Pumpkin Chili recipe.....OMG, it was so good! I was a little skeptical of it, but it was wonderful. This will be the only chili recipe I use from now on!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. This year was much better for me. I have to say........... I LOVE my band. I pretty much ate the things I would normally eat, just much smaller portions. I just had my 3rd fill last Thursday, and it made all the difference. How did your Christmas go?

Awwww, that's so sweet. What kind of dog did you get?
