What have you been eating? Are you exercising? Is it possible that you may need a fill? Sorry for so many questions, just trying to see if I can help you figure this out.

Everyone has different tastes, but I stuck with Protein shakes and Soup on the liquid phase. Those would be pretty easy to make at work. I'm not sure what you are allowed, but on my full liquid stage, I was allowed yogurt, SF puddings, soupy grits and oatmeal, and creamed Soups. It all depends on what your surgeon allows. Good luck at work next week, hope it goes well for you.

Hi Welcome back! Glad to hear you are starting the journey. How far into the process are you? Have you met with a doctor yet? -
I know how you feel. It's when you can't eat food that you realize how "food centered" this country has become, not to mention how we have become a fast food nation. I think, for me, not eating fast food is the hardest thing. I was a fast food junkie and I'll probably always struggle with this. Hang in there, it does get better. Thing are going great for me. The weight is starting to come off a lot slower now, but I was prepared for that. So far I haven't had any complications and hopefully it will stay that way.

Dr. Garth Davis doing surgery my on 1/5 in Houston

Good luck to you, I love both him and his dad on the show. They seem to care a lot about their patients. It comes on The Learning Channel (TLC). It's a really good show. They perform gastric bypass and lapband. I don't remember when it comes on, I have my DVR set up to record the new shows. -
Hey Sharona! Congrats on starting the process of changing your life! I was banded 9-20-07 and I have Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal. I had my surgery in less than a month after beginning my process. I read all the stories of those who had to do the supervised diet and had wait for months to get surgery, and I realize how fortunate I was to have such good insurance. Good luck to you and let us know how it goes!

Hey Big-D! I'm glad your surgery went well. Band slippage is more rare than a lot of people think, but it still can happen to the best of bandsters. Just be very careful and follow your surgeons instructions, and hopefully you will heal well with no problems. Nice to meet you and good luck to you!

Hi MsTaylor! Welcome and congratulations on your weight loss :clap2: Sorry you are having a hard time with the weight loss right now. I think we will always struggle with this, or at least at some point. It really is a lifestyle change, and sometimes we will fall off the wagon. We just have to pick ourselves up and get back on. It is nice to meet you and I hope things work out for you. Good luck with the plastic surgery.

Hi Chilly! Welcome to LBT! I was banded 9-20-07 and I haven't had any problems yet. I'm still fairly new but I will answer any questions that I can. My husband really doesn't understand why I need this site, but he really doesn't understand what I'm going through. It's so good to talk with people who are going through the same things. Don't get me wrong, he is very supportive, but it is a different kind of support that I get from this site. Do you have any idea when you will be getting banded or starting a pre-op diet? Hope things work out well for you.

IG, you look great. It really makes a big difference when you put the photos together so you can see the progress. You're doing great, keep up the good work. -
This is crazy! I wonder why some require waiting before eating and others do not. I'm going to ask at my next appt because I would love to drink something before I eat. Mine said to wait 30 minutes before eating and 30-60 minutes after eating.

I got a really cute card from laurend as well. She told me that she would be visiting her parents and would not have internet access. I hope she comes back soon. I hope all the others come back as well. It's not the same without them.

Here are a few more: 1. Get to my goal weight by this time next year 2. Be more active 3. Make a budget to manage finances better 4. Finish my online courses and get my diploma 5. Keep a cleaner house "Stop biting my nails" would normally be at the top of my list, but I stopped biting them a month ago. Yay me!

Hah, that sounds familiar. It runs in my family, I think it's genetic (makes me feel better to blame it on the genes.)

This is a big problem for me. I am a night owl, I can not go to bed early. I probably need to get something from the doctor to help me go to sleep. This was my biggest problem before getting banded. I snacked all night long. Now, when I feel the need to snack at night, I make a cup of chai tea with splenda (no calories), or a cup of diet hot chocolate (only 25 calories). That seems to calm my cravings. Good luck to you and hope things get better soon.

I just want to vent frustrations
georgia girl replied to inbandpersuit's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Have you talked to your insurance company about pre-op diets? If not, give them a call and ask. I don't know what kind of insurance you have, but my insurance company answered all my questions over the phone. I was very fortunate that my insurance company did not require a pre-op diet. My surgeon required a two week diet to shrink the liver (Sugar Busters Diet). I know it's very frustrating for you right now. Hang in there and hopefully your insurance company will not require the 6 month supervised diet. Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck. -
In my case, I didn't get hungry for at least a couple of weeks, maybe longer (I can't remember exactly). I think I had a lot of swelling that took a while to go down. Some people are fast healers, and maybe your swelling went down already? Are you able to drink comfortably?

Hi Ann, I couldn't take the Glucophage either. It gave me headaches and gave me an upset stomach. Congratulations on your blood pressure. It's amazing what weight loss can do for our health. Imagine how much better we will feel when we make it to our goal weight. Nice to meet you, take it easy and good luck to you.
