Ladies......I need help with the girls!
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in The Gals' Room
I can't believe I'm about to say this...........I actually bought an underwire bra tonight at Walmart. I told everyone that I hated underwire, but I guess since I've lost weight, they don't hurt so bad. It's a curvation bra size 44DD. I'm still going shopping next Wednesday for another one, but I honestly couldn't wait until then to buy one. The one I was wearing was in terrible shape, it only had one hook that wasn't broken. I'm going for a fill next Wednesday and there is a mall in that town, so keep the ideas coming. -

That's awesome BBK! We started out at almost the same weight and now I have some hope that I will make it to goal. Thanks for posting this. Do you strictly stick to doing the bike and treadmil or do you change it up? What about lifting weights? -

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to start tracking my calories again at The Daily Plate. I did a lot better when I was doing this. I just got finished doing the elliptical, it was tough since I haven't done it in a while, but I did it! -

Wow, you don't play do you? Just kidding, I know that's what I need to do. I go for an assessment next Wednesday and hopefully I will get a fill. This is about the point where I would start to stray when I did diets prior to getting banded. I can't help but think about that. I just need to get that out of my head and move on! -

I have a lot of side boob fat. The underwire seems to dig into the side fat. I'll definitely check out that new spanx bra and the enell sports bra. I need a new sports bra that will hold em down good. Thanks everyone! -

Thanks Jeannie. I'm sorry you're feeling bad, hope you get over it soon. My husband just got over a stomach virus and I feel a little uneasy today too. I hope I don't get it. Thanks for all the encouragement. You're so sweet for saying all the kind words. Thanks again. Ghost, I just saw your new avatar.........I love it. -

Okay you guys, I think we should start a local support group in Albany. I've been having a hard time and I know some you probably have as well. This website has been a Godsend to me, but I really would like to talk to people in person. I've talked with some of the other bandsters on LBT and they suggested a local support group. I'm thinking we could meet at least once a month, maybe meet at a restaurant to start off with. We may have to think about a different location once the group grows, but for now, I think that a restaurant is a good idea. (maybe a bandster friendly restaurant?) I guess I'll be kind of heading this up. Any suggestions about when and where you prefer to meet? I was thinking since some work, the evening would be good, I dunno, what do you think? -

Jeannie, you have been an inspiration to me too. You're doing great and I'm so glad I had the chance to meet you. I hope I didn't discourage you, I've been really blessed not to have any problems yet. I've just been feeling this way for about a month now and I had to get it off my chest. Maybe I'm just having a hard time recovering over the holidays, I dunno. Thanks for all your support. -

Newbie from Georgia
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
5 lbs in 4 days......that's awesome. I had sweet potatoes too. I ordered them a lot when eating out, it's a good alternative to fries and baked potatoes if they have it. It sounds like you are doing great. I used to eat in front of the TV a lot too. Now that I'm addicted to this website, I have to watch eating in front of the computer......actually, I'm eating right now :hungry:. It is best not to have any distractions like Jeannie said. I don't do it a lot, but I have to be really careful because I tend to eat more food, when I do. -

Hey Joyful and Mia! Joyful, there is a lot of information shared on this board. It's great to hear everyone's stories and share experiences. Mia, I'm just amazed at what a little weight loss can do. Your date is coming up soon. How's the pre-op diet going? -

Ghost, you are right. I do need someone to talk to about this. I talk to my husband and he is very supportive, but he doesn't really understand what I am going though. Thanks again for your support. -

Thanks for the great ideas, Sunsett. What do you guys usually do at your meetings? Do you have a certain criteria you follow? -

Thanks for the encouragement, Jeannie. I think I'll post something on the Albany Georgia Bandsters thread and ask for some ideas of when and where we can all meet. I really do need some sort of support group to keep me motivated. This site has been a Godsend, but I think talking with people in person would help us all. Thanks again. -

Jeannie She's never checked to see how much fluid is in the band. She just adds more fluid in. I think I will mention this to her and see if she can draw out the fluid and see how much is still in there. It would ease my worry if she would do this. My first fill hurt so bad. She notated that I felt pain and the next time she added more of the lidocaine and I haven't felt a thing since the first one. -
Suggestion for LapBandTalk
georgia girl replied to blahblahblah's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I think this is a wonderful idea. Some of my clothes don't fit anymore and having to buy brand new clothes all the time gets expensive. I would also love to pass mine on to someone who could get some use out of it. Great idea! -

Thank you so much ghost! Those are really good suggestions. I really do think that a small, local support group would be good, but there isn't one near me. I know there are quite a few people on LBT from my area, maybe this would be a good time to get one started. I've been following your success for quite a while and you really have been an inspiration to me. I'm glad to know that someone with such success has went though the same thing, it gives me hope. Thanks again. -
I think that is hilarious!! That one made me laugh. It sounds like a fun name to me. :heh: Fancy Mocker? Masked Songbird? Freebird? I dunno, it won't hurt my feelings if you don't like them. I'm having fun trying to create a new name for these birds. I have no life and this sort of thing excites me...........did I just say that out loud?
-
I like Spanish Mockingbird too. I know what you mean though, when you hear "the one", you will know. The Loggerhead Shrike reminds me of a penguin. It almost looks like it is wearing a tuxedo. I love it when people post about something interesting that I've never heard of. I like researching and learning about new things.

Let me know if you decide to keep it and maybe we can chat for a few minutes. My appointment is at 2:15, but she told me to be prepared to wait, so it is very possible I will still be there at 3:30. I understand that you have a long drive and if I were you, I would call and see what they say first. Do you feel any restriction? I've had 3 fill and restriction only lasts for about a week. It's so aggravating, because I usually lose about 5-6 pounds just being on the liquids for 3 days, then I find I don't have much restriction, so sometimes they won't give me a fill. -

Hey Jeannie! We don't think your a stalker, I just glad to hear from you. Do you feel any restriction from your fill? I know your on liquids right now, but I could feel some restriction even when drinking. I've had 3 fills, and I do feel restriction for about a week, and then I can eat normal again. I'm not sure, maybe I haven't gotten to a good level yet. I have 5cc in my 10cc band. Hope there's not a leak. I worry about things like that. I agree, stick with your scales. I do the same thing. Mine is a couple of pounds different from theirs. How did you like Elizabeth? I really like her and she always takes the time to answers all my questions and guide me on what foods to eat. I like Maleek (sp?) too.
