    Popcorn Question....

Honestly, I've been too scared to try popcorn. I've read that a lot of people can't handle it and I'm too chicken to try it. I wouldn't want to even attempt eating popcorn from the movies, too much fat and calories IMHO. I know in the past, popcorn didn't fill me up at all. So if I attempted to eat until satisfied, I would probably eat it all. I think I'll just stay away from it, for now anyway.

    Why no water with meals?

2 hours seem a little too long. Most of the post that I've read about drinking post eating, is about 30 minutes to an hour. I would definitely ask about that again.

    The rollercoaster of my life

I posted this on the monthly group thread, but I'll post it here too. joho, my heart goes out to you. My pastor has MS and he has had such a hard time with this. There are days he can't even get out of bed. He is about your age too. He resigned his position at church last Sunday because he feels he can't fulfill his duties anymore. The IV steroids really set him back each time he has to go on them. I really do feel for you and I know it must be so hard for you to deal with all the pains that come with MS and try to focus on losing weight. You are doing great with the weight loss. You sound like such a trooper and to have lost 28 lbs with all you've been through is amazing. You should really be proud of yourself for all your hard work.<!-- google_ad_section_end --> You really have had a roller coaster of a ride and my thought and prayers are with you. I hope things get better for you and you feel better soon. I'm sending out prayers for you. ((HUGS)) <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

    High Fructose Corn Syrup

Hey Julie I've been craving sugar like crazy since the holidays. Tomorrow I am starting the cut sugar and carbs from my diet for a while, at least until I can shake these cravings. You're right, once I start eating these foods, I want more and more. I've been feeling so icky lately and I know it's because of my food choices.

    Questions

What size band do you have? 2 lbs a week is a normal healthy rate, most doctors want you to only lose 1-2 lbs per week. It sounds to me that you are doing really good. Talk to your fill doctor about the hunger, maybe you need another fill? Oh, I have 5cc in my 10cc band, I hope to be getting another fill on Wednesday.

Say No To Carbs 2 Day Challenge...come Join Me

I'll have to go and get some more protein shakes in the morning, I drank my last one this morning. I think I will buy the adkins shakes this time or the slim fast low carb ones.

Albany GA bandsters - speak up...

Mia I agree with Jeannie, more protein, less bread. The diet says that you can have whole grain bread, but it would serve you well to start changing some of your habits now. Also, it would help you to start taking small bites and chew really really good, if you haven't already. I also started eating my meals without drinking too. I think it really helped me in the long run. You are doing great, you should be proud of yourself. Keep up the good work!

    Heart Burn

I'm not an expert at this because I haven't experienced this, but it doesn't sound like you are too filled because you can keep food down. Maybe your doctor could recommend a heartburn medicine for you. Make sure you are eating very slowly and chewing very well. Sometimes if I eat too fast or don't chew good enough, I feel pressure in my chest, but it only last a few seconds. Are you having heartburn all the time or just when you eat or drink?

    Feeling Down

Do you have good restriction right now? Do you exercise? How many calories do you have a day? I know how you feel, I've been a little down too lately. Yesterday I started tracking my calories again at The Daily Plate and I started exercising again and I feel so much better. Sometimes we don't realize how many calories we are consuming until we write it down. They add up pretty fast. Don't be too hard on yourself. Let's figure out what the problem is and we'll go from there.

    Give me ideas

Maybe you could take one day a week, when you're not busy, and cook some healthy meals up and freeze them in individual containers, that way you could just grab them and go.

Congrats on all the NSV's Renewed! My DH is "interested" a lot now too lol. Comepickmeup- Believe me, I would be thrilled with my DD's if they sat where they are supposed too LOL. They also give me shoulder problems too. I want to be somewhere in the middle......like a nice C cup.

    Wedding Food

I think one of the biggest hits at our reception was Oriental Chicken Wings. They came from a local Chinese restaurant and were a fairly decent price. I would be careful with really bold flavors though, these wings were very mild. Like laurend said, just arrange them on a nice platter and it looks great.

    Liquid protein?

I drink a shake in the mornings only. I'm not a big breakfast eater anyway. I was using Pro Performance Whey Protein Powder (Chocolate Caramel) from GNC, then switched to Slim Fast after I started eating solids. I think I'm going to go back to using the protein powder because it has more protein and my hair has been falling out.

Also, you could print your own invitations using decorative cardstock paper. You can find very pretty designs on the net. You could cut the edges of the paper using those scissors that make patterns or you could add a little satin ribbon on the invitation as well.

    Wedding Food

Our wedding cost maybe $1500 including my dress. We were on a tight budget too and I was very fortunate that I have a huge family that was willing to help me. One of my bridesmaids knew someone that owned a nursery and let us borrow a bunch of ferns for free, can you believe that! Also at the time, my husband was a manager at a farm and country store and we borrowed a bunch of poinsettias and returned them the next day (We had a Christmas wedding). So I didn't have to pay anything for flowers and greenery. I used a decorated Christmas tree as my centerpiece for the ceremony and another tree for the reception area. Do you have a friend that could take pictures and another to video? I found a lady that was just starting out with photography, a little risky, but she did a great job and only charged me $100 for a lot of pictures that she put in a very nice photo album. Do you have a friend or family member that could make your cake and let that be your wedding gift? I made my bridesmaids bouquets with silk flowers, they turned out good and cost a lot less than real flowers. My reception was an "appetizer only" reception. My family pitched in and make all the food. We had our wedding in a church that we were members of, so there was no charge for the ceremony or the social hall area. How many guest will you have at the reception? Do you have a place in mind where you want to have the wedding and the reception?
