You could also add a little bit of crumbled bacon to this and it would be good. It's a little high in fat, but if you are strictly doing low carb, it would work.

They want me to start taking 250 mg of DHEA Vitamin. I've only been able to find 50mg pills, I would have to take 5 pills a day to equal 250 mg. I already have to cut another pill into 4 pieces so I can swallow it. I think I'll search the net and see if I can find a stronger dosage. I've heard that the vitamin can help you lose weight, so I hope it does. I'm also taking Actos plus Metformin for PCOS and it is supposed to help with weight loss too. I definitely haven't been exercising enough either. Today I did an aerobics workout for 15 minutes and I plan to do the elliptical and some light weight lifting tonight. I just hope I get some energy soon! -
I was thinking........maybe it would help us stay on track if we posted what we ate and our exercise for the day. That way we are held accountable for what we do. I think after I eat dinner, I'll post what ate for the day and my exercise routine. That way, if something isn't working for us, we can suggest other options.

I know exactly what you mean about the sweet tea! I'm from South Georgia and sweet tea is BIG here. I've also been having to drink cranberry juice due to a kidney infection and it is loaded with calories and sugar. I have a couple of more days to drink it, then it's back to no calorie drinks.........basically water! I have a HealthOmeter scale that I got at walmart HealthoMeter Body Fat & Body Water Fitness Tracking Scale - Wal-Mart I love this scale, it tracks up to 4 peoples fitness goals.

Hey Hazeleyegrl! Thanks for getting this challenge started, I think it's just what I needed. Maybe after this one, we can come up with an easter related challenge. I was watching Oprah the other day, and there was a woman that lost over 200 pounds on there. She said that just kept setting mini goals through the whole process. It makes sense to me and seems so much easier than just setting one big goal. I was banded 9-20-07. I lost weight really fast in the begining, but I've hit a plateau and haven't lost hardly anything in a month! I know I really need to bump up the exercise and stop my late night snacking. Let's do this!

Fairy Facade I love edamame too! Lately I've been eating a frozen mixed vegetable steamer pack with edamame, black beans, carrots, and sugar snap peas. It is so good. Where did you order yours from?

Allykat Wow, that does seem like a good price on the fills. I've heard many people say their docs charge around $200. I'm glad your seminar went well. Did you get all your questions answers and are you ready to begin this process? -

Hey Jeannie Things are going pretty good. I definitely feel more restriction than before. The eating part is going really good, but I just can't find the energy to exercise, I have been sooo tired lately. I found out the other day, from my endocrinologist, that my DHEA hormone levels are too low. That very well could be my problem. I looked it up online and apparently it can cause severe fatigue, muscle weakness, difficulty losing weight, mood swings and depression. That's just what I need. lol -
I'm in too. I need some kind of motivation to get me going in the right direction. It's going to be hard, but we can do it!

I lost a lot of weight really fast to begin with. I probably lost over 20 lbs the first two weeks, but believe me, it has really slowed down. I've actually hit a plateau and haven't lost hardly anything in a month. It's so depressing, but hopefully it will pass soon. -
OMGosh, I have 3 shows I want to watch tonight: Biggest Loser, One Tree Hill, and AI. I only have 2 TV's that will record so it looks like I'm going to miss one of them.

Hey allykat, we certainly don't mind you joining in. It's nice to meet you. I was fortunate in that I didn't have to wait long at all. Good luck at the seminar and I hope things move quickly for you. Have you met with the doctor yet? -

I'm doing great, 4jin! I was hoping you would have heard something by now, hang in there and hopefully you will know something soon. Have you tried calling them to speed up the process a little? I don't know if it would help but it might be worth a try. I've got my fingers crossed that hear soon! -

I think a little olive oil is fine. Terri is right, don't worry so much. As long as you know you are eating the right things, you'll be fine. -

Hey Mia Congrats on not eating the cheddar biscuits, those things are so hard to resist! As far as not drinking with your meals, it's one of the hardest things for most bandster to get used to. I usually order a Water with extra lemons and I make my own lemonade using splenda. I always ask them to bring my water in a to-go cup. I mix it up and put the lid on but don't put the straw in it. I put the straw in my purse, that way I won't be tempted to take a sip while eating. I drink it 30 minutes after I finish eating. I used to carry those Salad Spritzer Dressings in my purse, they are 1 calorie per spray. I go some looks when I would pull it out of my purse, but I don't care, it doesn't bother me. I would say since you are on Sugar busters, it would be best NOT to go for the light dressing, they tend to have less fat but more sugar. For now, I would just get the regular stuff, it has less sugar and less carbs. -
I loved it in Dunn and wish we could have stayed there longer. My husband's store was closed and we had no choice but to move back to Georgia. I live in Moultrie now, I'm originally from the tiny town of Norman Park.

Losing weight.......and friends
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Faithmd, I'm sure you're friend noticed too, I mean 65 lbs is AMAZING! Jealously may not be the problem. I know I have always been self-conscious about my weight. And many times I noticed people losing weight and didn't say anything either. And it wasn't jealousy at all. I think I was just so ashamed of being fat and letting myself get that way, that I didn't want to bring it up. In my mind, I felt like they were probably thinking "Why aren't you trying to lose some weight". I hated feeling that way and it wasn't fair to the people that were losing weight. I never wanted to even discuss weight with anyone in fear that someone would say something about my weight or give me "the look" (you know, when someone looks you up and down and you can tell by their facial expressions that they are disgusted). Maybe that sounds crazy, but it's possible she just feels ashamed. I'm not saying that is an excuse, but I remember how ashamed I was about my own weight. -
Skyeblu I live in a smaller town called Dunn, I think it's about 30 minutes from Raleigh. We moved there because my husband was transfered by his company. We only lived there for about 5 months, but I really liked it there.
