I lost a lot of weight before my 6 week fill appointment. I'm not sure exactly how much, but it was way more than 2 pounds a week. I lost close to 15lbs the first week after surgery. She gave me my fill at my 6 week appointment. After that fill is when they really start monitoring your weight loss. There was one time when I know I needed a fill because I was going hungry, but I still worked hard to keep losing and she wouldn't give me a fill because I lost 2lbs a week. I do understand where they are coming from, they want us to lose slow and healthy. I have another appt. on Feb. 12th and I know I won't be getting a fill because I've lost too much. I'll probably end up cancelling it since it's such a long drive. I think she will give you a fill if you have been hungry. And then they will want to see you about every 2 weeks until you get good restriction.

I would love to buy whole foods, but unfortunately, we don't have any whole food markets in my town. We have a Farmer's Market, but I don't that's the same thing. They have produce and nuts, and that's about it!

Well, today I'm not feeling so well. My stomach feels very uneasy so all I've had today is Protein shakes. I'm hoping to be able to eat by dinner. You all have some great NSV's!!! I have already ditched my C-PAP machine! My husband says I don't snore anymore (although he still snores like a freight train) and I've been sleeping better. So, I guess that's an NSV for me!

Losing, it's okay........sorry it got stuck and came back up. Okay here's what I had today: B-low carb slim fast L-1 crab snack stick D-2 oz. baked tilapia Right now I'm drinking a cup of coffee with splenda and heavy cream in it. I don't know why, but I've been craving coffee all day! Losing I found these crab Snacks at my local Winn Dixie. It's made by Lois Kemp Seafood Company and their called Crab Snack Delights. It comes with 5 "peel and go" crab sticks. They're actually pretty big, and let me tell you........one of these snacks fills me up for a while. It's hard for me to get a whole one down, I'm not sure if it's the consistency of the meat or what. It has 35 cal., 0g fat, 5g carbs, and 4g Protein per stick. I was expecting the protein to be higher, not sure why it's not, but it's a good low calorie snack. It's made with crab and other seafood meats and it's fully cooked and ready to eat. I think it cost $2.99 per pack.

Bamboobabe- I use the low carb slim fast too. I really like it and it has 20 grams of Protein per can. I've been on solids for a long time and I still drink one every morning. I'm usually tighter in the mornings and it's a good source of protein. I used to use the Pro Performance Whey protein powder (chocolate caramel) from GNC and mix it with skim milk. It was pretty good, but I like the convenience of the slim fast already made up in the cans. Mia- glad to hear your spot is getting better!

I'm only down a pound, but it's my TOM, so hopefully that's why I haven't lost more. I really didn't technically start until Wednesday. I really haven't been counting the carbs either, just sticking to the food on the list. LOL. That's funny!!! I have really thick hair too and I always wait way tooo long on cutting it. It usually looks like there's enough hair on the floor to make a pretty thick wig! Maybe I'll get mine cut on Valentine's Day...... just in case I'm a little shy of meeting my goal, lol.

Mia I'm ROTFL, I think I've just gotten used to showing my girls. I've had so many doctor's appointments where they had to look at them, it doesn't even bother me anymore!

You're definitely right! I've always been able to lose weight, but I've never been able to keep it off. I've been successful at losing weight before in the past, but I always gained it all back plus more. That's why I chose the lapband.

I gave Terri a call and she said that she was going to be out of town on the 7th, so she won't be able to make it, but she definitely wants to know when the next one is. She gave me some really good ideas on how to get this started, so I'm super excited. I asked her about Dr. Bagnato maybe starting a support group at the hospital, and she said that it is something they've been working on, so maybe it will happen in the near future.
