You could always play the dirty diaper game! Here's how to play it: Fold small white napkins or squares of fabric into little diapers and fasten with a diaper pin. Place an opened candy kiss in one of them. Give them to guests as they arrive at the party. Warn them that one may be a dirty diaper and they'll get to change it when everybody has arrived. Have everyone open their diapers together at some point during the party and the one with the kiss wins a door prize.

Thanks darr! I've heard many bandsters say that they feel more restriction during their TOM. It's hasn't effected me that way yet, but it does for many. That could definitely be why you feel more restricted. Also, I think the band just has a mind of it's own sometimes, lol! Occasionally I'll have more restriction for a couple of days and then it's back to the way it was.

When we decide on a date, I'll post an invitation on this thread for everyone to see. I'll also try to PM everyone, just in case someone doesn't see it on here. -
That's great Renewed! I'll update your stats. Congratulations on being so close to onderland, I'm excited for you. How are you doing since your fill? You are obviously doing good on the weight loss, but are you still too tight?

allykat, It really all depends on how much swelling your stomach has after the surgery. Some people have no problem sipping after surgery. I must have had a lot of swelling because I could barely sip without having severe pain. You do have to be careful with dehydration. I was nauseated for a solid week after surgery, and I'm pretty sure it was due to dehydration. Terry told me to just take a small sip every 15 minutes. Hopefully you will be able to drink more than that, lol! I think it was at week 3, that I was able to drink "normal" with the exception of gulping, of course. If you are feeling a lot of pressure when drinking after surgery, just slow down and take small sips. You probably won't be able to get in the recommended 64oz. right away, you'll have to build up to it. Don't worry too much, it will all be okay. I hope this helps. -

Yes, I've been meaning to sit down and figure out a date. I just checked out the calendar, what about March 13th (it's on a Thursday)? Let me know what you guys think. -
Down another pound today, YAY! I'm officially half way there! How's everyone else doing?

oooooh, I might have to give it a try.........sounds pretty good, except the bubble gum flavor, yuck. I sometimes like to drink skim milk and this might be a good way to flavor it up. Thanks for sharing.

Looking at your ticker, it looks like you have done a great job. If you are feeling hungry, maybe it's time for another fill? I know that some of the saline can evaporate over time, so maybe you need to be topped off a bit. I did the low carb thing for a while, mainly because I was afraid of losing my hair. Well, I'm losing it anyway, so I've decided to start adding in some veggies and fruits. I still stay away from bread, because I don't think I could handle it right now. I try to eat between 800-1000 calories a day. What about exercise, are you getting in enough? I have no right to tell anyone to exercise, because I haven't been doing any lately, but for now, I am still losing, thank goodness. Maybe you could try to bump it up a little, at least until you pass your plateau? When were you banded? -

Oh, Renewed.......I know that makes you feel so good! I don't blame you for cying....I almost cried too, it's soooo sweet. You must be doing an awesome job at getting healthy if your 9 year old son is noticing all your hard work. I feel exactly the same way you do, I can't wait to get to goal and can't even imagine what life is going to be like. That's a great NSV for you, WTG and thanks for sharing! -

Hello Terryo! I have PCOS too! I have been banded since Sept and have lost 69lbs so far. I am noticing my skin is starting to sag some, but I agree with Losingjusme, I'd rather it sag than be filled with fat. IMO, sagging skin is inevitable for most people who are obese. I chose Lap-band for safety reasons. I just didn't want to take the risks that come with Gastric Bypass. Granted, there are risks with any type of surgery, but I just didn't feel comfortable with the risks of GB. The #1 reason I chose lap-band was because it is reversible if need be. With GB, once you've been re-routed, you can't go back to the way you were before. My advice to you would be to do as much research as possible about both operations and do what you feel is right for you. Good luck to you in whatever decision you make!

Mia, congrats on the NSV! It feels good, doesn't it! I went to church this morning in a pair of dress pants that were pretty much falling off of me. I'll be glad when I get to goal, clothes are so expensive. Anyways, I'd rather wear my pants that are falling off of me than be as big as I was pre-band. I am so grateful for the band. I hope this next fill does the trick for you. It gets so much easier once you have decent restriction. I have had to use a lot of willpower up until my last fill. I've had 5 fills and I think I may at my "sweet spot" (fingers crossed it stays that way). The first fill did absolutely nothing for me. As for the others, I did feel some restriction but it would go away after a week or so. -

Hey everyone! I haven't been on LBT until this evening. My son was up just about all night. He's not sick or anything, but I think he had a bad dream and it just scared the mess out of him. So we went to church this morning, then came home and took a nap for a few hours. You know, the weirdest things are happening to me. I thought for sure I had a kidney or urinary tract infection. I don't mean to be graphic but, there was blood when I wiped after urinating and the area was swollen and hurting. Well, today if feels completely normal and no more blood. I don't know what's going on with me, but I'm glad to be feeling better. Brina: I know you are nervous, excited, anxious, scared, etc., but it will be over before you know it. I laughed at your post because I clean when I am nervous or angry about something (I do some of my best cleaning when DH and I have an argument, lol). Try to get some sleep tonight, you've got a big day ahead of you tomorrow. Please let us know how everything went as soon as you feel like posting. Your in my prayers tonight! -

Thanks Lattedah! I'm sure you are going to do very well with your weightloss. When are you getting banded? Thank you Gloucester. You know, around my eyes is one of the places I've noticed the most change in. When I used to smile, you could barely see my eyes. Thanks again. Tulipstar, you are looking fabulous! I can really tell a difference, keep this up and you'll be a goal before you know it!

Spaghetti Squash Pesto Casserole
georgia girl replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well, we had it for dinner tonight and it was really good. I think I like it a little better with the squash and pesto mixed together. My husband even liked it....... and he is ONE PICKY EATER, LOL! FairlyFacade, I thought adding garlic would be too overwhelming, but now I don't think it would be. I think next time I make it, I'll sautee some onions and garlic to mix with the squash and pesto. Thanks again for the tip! -
Thanks, I really appreciate it!

I hope it's not too! Yes, that is a picture I snapped the other night for the hair thread in the twenties forum. I've lost about 10 lbs since the previous picture I had taken, so I thought I would update the avatar too!
