We could wait until April? March is actually going to be a really busy month for me. My sister is getting married at the beach at the end of March and we have a lot to do before then, so I'm thinking we should wait until April. I think after spring break, things may calm down a little. What do you guys think? -
Hey Jeannie! I really do want to eventually get it cut that way. I'm just not ready to do it yet. I would love to see pictures of your "new do"!

This does sound like fun! The only possible problem with drinking wine is that the "mom to be" might feel a little left out since she can't drink. I don't know her, so I couldn't say for sure..........just a thought. Green, you seem like one fun lady!!!!

Mia, you're doing great! Congrats on your weight loss! I updated your stats. How are you doing since your fill? Do you think you have more restriction?

Hi Zetajenn5! I'm from Moultrie, Ga. It's nice to meet you!

Hey everyone, this is great! Now we have a place to come and discuss PCOS related issues. Thanks Alex! Some of our topics can get a little graphic, lol! I'm excited about this!

Oh, that's okay, I'm just now reading them both, lol. My hubby is 5'11" and weighs 229. He was 234 when he started dieting, but 240 was his highest. He tends to gain only in his stomach and some in his face. The rest of him isn't big at all, just the belly, lol. I read somewhere one time that it was a lot more dangerous for someone to gain fat only in the belly than someone who gains all over, mostly because the stomach is where all the organs are and too much fat in that area could cause many problems. Idk if that's true or not really. I'll hopefully weigh less than him soon. I weighed 258 this morning, so 29 more pounds before I catch him, if he doesn't lose more in the meantime. That will be a huge NSV for me because I've never weighed less than him. When we started dating, we both weighed 140lbs. He was soooooo skinny, really too skinny. 175 was a good weight for him. I looked pretty thin at 140lbs. I've always been athletic and played a lot of sports, so most of my weight came from muscle. I'm shooting for 150, maybe that's unrealistic, I don't know, but I'm darn sure gonna try to get there, lol.

Renewed, it really doesn't matter what you call me either, most call me georgia, but whichever. For some reason it's easier for me to call people by their screen names, maybe because it's a bigger font and more noticeable. I know what you mean about the scales, it seems like I'm getting addicted to weighing, wow....that sounds weird to say! I usually weigh every morning and sometimes I weigh at night just to see what the difference is. Lately I've been losing about a pound a day. It worries me because last time that happened, I ended up plateauing for about a month. I think this last fill has helped a lot, and I hope it lasts. I've noticed in the past couple of days I've started getting a little more hungry, but it's manageable. I'm just trying to make the best possible food choices that I can. Dh has been doing pretty good too, he lost 5 lbs. I am so proud of him.

That's awesome Mia! Congratulations! I don't know how much the scales are that you are wanting to buy, I'm thinking it may be pretty expensive if it is like the one at the OTC. I bought a scale from walmart before being banded and it is wonderful. It cost about $40.00 and it is right on with the one at the OTC. You can do all sorts of neat programming to store your info and progress. Here's the link if you want to check it out: HealthoMeter Body Fat & Body Water Fitness Tracking Scale - Wal-Mart -
Angie4b1g How many recipes do you have and how many do you need? I've sent quite a few and probably can come up with more but I wasn't sure if I was sending too many! Just let me know if I am, thanks for all your hard work in putting this together!

I made a similar recipe for lunch today and thought I would share, it was very tasty. Ingredients -1 Roma tomato -salt & pepper to taste -2 wedges of light laughing cow garlic & herb cheese (you could probably get away with using just one wedge, but I love, love, love cheese!) -Balsamic Breeze salad spritzers (practically no calories packed with flavor) Preheat oven to 350. Rinse tomato and dry. Slice tomato into about 1/4 inch slices. Place them on a baking sheet lined with foil. Spray each tomato slice with the Balsamic spritzer (about 2 sprays per slice). Sprinkle with salt & pepper. Spread a thick layer of cheese over each slice with a butter knife and bake for about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!

I made this for dinner tonight and it was soooo good! 6 or 7 Roma tomatoes Sun Dried Tomato vinaigrette or Italian dressing (I used the vinaigrette) Parmesan cheese Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Slice the tomatoes about 1/4 inch thick and line on cookie sheet in a single layer. Baste each tomato generously with the vinaigrette and sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on each one. Bake for about 15 minutes. You could also put a little fresh chopped basil on top! If you love tomatoes, you will love this recipe!!!

I am definitely going to have it done. My mom has offered to pay to have it done as a gift when I reach my goal. I'm trying to get there as fast as I can, lol! I have to shave everyday and it gets so old. I'm so glad to hear that it's working well for you. I can't wait to not have to shave everyday!

Nice to meet you Canaryqueen! Sorry you are having a rough time right now. I've actually notice my symptoms are finally starting to get a little better. I think a big reason is because I went to an Endo and she started me on Actos Metformin and also she found out that I had another hormone problem that has nothing to do with PCOS, so I'm on medication for that too! What kind of doctor are you using? I totally recommend going to an Endo, if you haven't already. My Endo ran a slew of tests on me and things are finally getting a little better. My excess hair has not improved, but I'm starting to get some energy back and my depression has gotten soooo much better. I didn't tell the doctors that I was depressed (probably not a good idea) and I have never taken any medication for depression. But I'm finally feeling better and I couldn't be happier right now. I hope things get better for you soon and good luck!

I've been trying new things too! I'm definitely trying to eat something green at least once a day, I strive for more but some days I don't make it. I've been eating spinach, green Beans, sweet peas, edamame, green grapes, green apples, and pesto (which is something new for me but I can't eat a lot of it because it is high in calories). Oh, and I was down another pound today, YAY! I know spaghetti squash isn't green, but I've been eating a lot of that too. My initial goal was to not only eat green foods for this month, but to eat healthier foods in general. I'm definitely trying new things and I have been pleasantly surprised so far. I'm still trying to Go Green for the environment too: still using more natural light during the day, washing with cold Water, etc. We started using cloth napkins instead of paper towels. It's really fun trying to come with new ways to go green. Anyone else want to share how they are "going green" and "eating green"?

My sister is a midwife and back when she was an RN in labor & delivery, she told me that this one lady had twins and she named them Lemonjello and Orangejello. They were pronounced Le-MON-gel-lo and O-RON-gel-lo. That cracked me up.

Mia and Brina, I can totally relate. For the past 8 or 9 years, I have been morbidly obese. I have never had a problem losing weight, my problem was keeping it off. I was an ALL or nothing type of person. I was very successful once at losing weight, I stuck to the diet to a T for about 6 months.......and then it happened. I remember the day like it was yesterday. My husband and I had just finished playing a game of tennis and it was my TOM, so of course I was craving. We drove to Dairy Queen and I ordered a medium health bar blizzard. After I ate it, I was soooo mad at myself. So what did I do? I gave up completely. I felt like I had failed miserably. Not only did I gain back the 50lbs I worked so hard to lose, I gained another 40. It's always been All or nothing with me and I could never break that cycle, until now. After I was banded, I began to lose weight pretty quickly. As soon as I could eat "real" food again, I fell off the wagon more than once. I got very discouraged at one point, because each time I would get a fill, I had this wonderful restriction for about a week and then..........it was gone. It was as if I didn't even have a band. I went on willpower for a long time and I wasn't by any means perfect all the time. I don't know how to explain it, but somewhere down the road, I changed. I still have weeks that I don't make the best food choices, but I've learned how to pick myself up and start again. I am NOT an all or nothing person anymore. I stopped relying completely on the band and slowly began changing my eating habits. I think you'll find that as you go through this journey, a lot of things are going to change for you. I've taught myself not to harbor those "feelings of failure" anymore. I can honestly say that my lifestyle has changed because of this. It does get a lot easier when you have good restriction. But, until then, you will have good days and bad, but just remember not to focus only on the bad food choices you make, focus on how much progress you have already made and strive to do even better. One thing that has really helped me, is setting some sort of mini goal for myself. In the Sept. 2007 Bandster thread, we have mini goals that usually last about a month long and they have been a Godsend for me. Find something to get involved in that will keep you motivated. There are lots of goal oriented threads on this site, take advantage of it and start changing your habits now. If you are focusing on a small goal, the end goal won't seem so overwhelming. It's the small steps that get us where we eventually want to be. Sorry to be so long-winded but I truly understand how you feel, because I've been there. Hang in there girls, and keep those positive thoughts flowing. -

No more pain right now, thank goodness! I'm not exactly sure what was going on, but I feel great right now and I hope it stays that way, lol. I'm sure if it's gallbladder, it will come back. I ended up cancelling my appointment because all the symptoms went away.........decided I would wait it out a bit. Other than the back pain and soreness, are you doing okay? -
Here's some of mine: 1. My eyes don't shut when I smile anymore 2. I can see my cheek bones 3. I've went from a size 30 to a size 22. 4. I can get up and down with no problem 5. I've had to restock on underwear TWICE because they were falling off, lol! 6. I am able to fit in clothes that I haven't been able to wear in years. 7. I can play with my 2 year old son more. 8. People are really starting to notice my weight loss. 9. I sleep without my CPAP machine now!

What is your Fill Level in a 10 cc AP Band?
georgia girl replied to Motocrossgirly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had 5 fills with a total of 6.5ccs in my band. I have pretty good restriction right now.
