Has anyone been able to drink diet colas and still lose weight with their band ? I gave them up and was so miserable, that i couldnt take it anymore, I only like caffiene free Diet Dr Peppers, I dont want to mess up my band and can make the food changes if i can just have my drinks. So if anyone else is still drinking them and is still able to lose with the band, please share so i wont feel so discouraged with myself. THanks !! :cry

Hello, I am a RN, been a nurse for 16 years, love working in labor and delivery, taught childbirth and lactation classes. Am volunteering at a crisis pregnacy center too. Just banded on 12-14, trying to adjust. This is a whole new game. Linda

Hello, Will u please tell me how to get my ticker on here ? I went to the site and made my ticker, but cant find a way to get it on here. Thanks -
Hello, Glad your surgery went well. I agree that nurse shouldnt be working with band patients, i cant imagine telling a patient all that right before surgery. I am a RN too and also a OB nurse. I am waiting for a surgery date for the band and am hoping it will be soon. Would love to keep in touch with u and maybe we can help each other, with support if nothing else. I think i would tell the doctor about that nurse, i hate to cause trouble, but if she continues to do that , especially with patients that arent all that informed, she may really mess someone up. Anyways, keep hanging in there. Let me know how much u lose. Where do u live ? Is the liquid diet hard to follow ? Are u hungry? I dread waiting until i get fills to get restiction, because if u are hungry and having to force yourself to stick to the post op diet for weeks, it is just like dieting without the band, and i am no good at dieting on my own, which of course , is why i need the band. So i am afraid i wont do good with that. Write when u can. Linda In West Tn.

POLL Should I have them redone to make them perfect... Breast pictures
TNNurse Linda replied to princess_n_thep's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think u looked good before, i would be happy to have mine look that good, and i am not queer, u asked for honest opinions and i am giving mine . I am married and love men, not women, not in that way !!! I do think what matters most is for u to be happy, if u spent that much money and arent going to be happy, then go back and complain, and get someone else to redo them. Linda -
Anyone have to have surgery rescheduled due to liver?
TNNurse Linda replied to mandi78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have a hard time believing that if our livers are too fatty and huge , that they can be shrinked down in 2 weeks time. It just seems it would take longer. I am a nurse and although this isnt my speciality, i have never heard of such before. I just wonder if it is just a scare tactic to get people started on the diet , so it will be easier for us to stick to it afterwards. Any knowledgeable medical people out there , please let us know if this is so . Thanks :help: -

Memphis is about two and a half hours away from me. I need to find some good choc. protein drinks that actually taste good. Although the best thing i could ever do is get off choc. all together, but not likely to happen . I have a " Body by Chocalate " unfortunetely. Keep me posted of how u r doing. Who is going to do your surgery ?

Here is the truth about the band
TNNurse Linda replied to alysedg23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any suggestions of good tasting chocalate or strawberry shakes or bars would be appreciated. Thats the only kind i like. I am also a diet dr pepper addict and it will be hard to give it up, especially since it isnt fattening anyways. I hate water , so their will be lots of changes for me. I hope i can make them all. -

Here is the truth about the band
TNNurse Linda replied to alysedg23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What keeps people from eating bread with the band ? I noticed alot of people say that, just wondering does it make u sick or what ? -
Thanks , I appreciate all the advise i can get. Looks like u have done great !!

If U dont have restriction until u start getting fills, and have to starve after surgery on clear liquids, then mushy etc , and relie on will power, then I think this will be horrible. If i could make myself go on a liquid diet, etc on my own, i wouldnt need the band. And once u got use to not eating, u wouldnt be that hungry. THis really concerns me. Any advise apprceciated. Is the band really worth it ? Does it help or is it a mind game ? THanks<:help:

Hello , I live in Tn, 3 hours away from Nasville and am waiting on my surgery date. I would love to talk with u, especially since u have already been banded to see how things really are. Once i get banded , we could be here for each other and help each other out. Are u still hungry ? i am so afraid i will go thru all of this and still be hungry and not lose the weight. I need to lose about 140lbs. I am a chocaholic and a snacker and everyone says that i should go with the bypass because of that, but not willing to take the risks of that surgery. Look forward to hearing from u.
