  1. My doctor's office submitted my FMLA paperwork today by email, at my request so the fax didn't get in to the wrong hands, and the medical assistant copied me. The FMLA paperwork is very generic and doesn't mention the WLS, but her signature line says it in big bold letters! I'm kinda ticked off because I didn't want anyone to know what surgery I was having. My HR person has to keep it a secret, correct? She can't tell anyone? She is friends with my boss and I'm afraid she'll say something she shouldn't.
  2. I am scheduled to have surgery on Sept. 24th. My husband is still waiting on approval, which should come in by Monday. We're thinking it might be a good idea to do the procedure the same day that way we can follow the pre and post op diets together and take the time off together and whine about the pain together. But, I'm a little nervous about doing it the same day, because I had laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis years ago and I really needed help for a few days to move around. I was in a lot of pain. It was an outpatient procedure, so I went home the same day, which probably is why. He's 6'5" and 400 lbs. I can't help him sit up from bed, especially if I'm still in pain. We don't have any family near us, so we're kinda on our own, Has anyone had this done with a spouse at the same time? Or, did you really rely on your spouse to help you the first several days?
