Thanks, Jill. I sure will keep my November buds up to date. :tt2:

That's one of the more detailed calculators I've seen. Thanks!

Thanks for the information, viridescence! The hysterectomy was just mentioned in passing so far. I'll hopefully know more after my visit next Thursday but even then, I may need to undergo some tests before we start considering treatment. However, this is the kind of information I need to know and I'm glad to have. Thanks a bunch!

You know, it didn't occur to me about the hormonal changes actually causing a mass. At the point in the discussion that I brought it up, we were talking about possibly putting me on progesterone to kind of "clean me out" but that was before she physically saw or felt the mass. She's not an expert so I'll be interested to hear what the gynecologist thinks about it. I did mention that the medical profession doesn't know nearly as much about our bodies as we think they do! Not their fault but we're pretty complex. :tt2:

I asked my NP about that but she didn't think it was related. And she definitely saw and felt something. I took some Tylenol last night that really helped but the pain is back this morning. I guess I need to take it more regularly. It was easier to ignore when I thought it was menstrual cramps. :tt2: Thanks for the kind thoughts!

On one hand, I'll be glad to stop having periods! And surgery doesn't make me nervous, especially after my positive experience with lap-band surgery. I understand that in some cases, a hysterectomy can be done vaginally. I'll let y'all know what I find out next week and whether this is how I'll be spending Spring Break. :tt2:

Thanks, elle! I was born in Indiana so that means a lot to me! :tt2:

I think it's funny that my identical twin daughters, who never dressed alkike while they were growing up, got identical tattoos when they were about 21. For me, there's nothing I love so much that I'd want to keep it the rest of my life. But for those who like them, enjoy!

What level are all the Nov 07 bandsters at?
Longhorn replied to AndreaL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my third fill last Friday. I now have 7ccs in a 10cc band. I have really comfortable but effective restriction right now. -
I'm so sorry you're sick and hope you're feeling better soon! The flu can be so uncomfortable.

That's great! Could you share which calculator you're using? The ones I've found aren't that detailed with the categories. Thanks!

I can't believe how quickly I'm losing since this last fill! It has only been four days and I've lost 4.5 pounds! I never dreamed I could lose this quickly, especially without being hungry or uncomfortable in any way. I'm not even exercising because I just don't have time. My main issue now is making sure I eat enough, especially Protein. I'm on the go a lot so I have to rely on portable foods. I've mostly been eating Slimfast shakes and Luna bars but at only 10-11 grams of protein per serving, that's not enough, especially when I have to make myself think about eating. As I mentioned in another thread, it's time to get out the unjury unflavored Protein powder and start adding it to my foods. I know it's tough when you're not really experiencing the full benefits of the band but try to be patient and hang in there! I don't know how long this level of restriction will last but I'm enjoying it while I can!
-
Thanks, Trixie! I doubt if I'll continue to lose at this pace, since I've always been a slow loser, but I'm enjoying this while it lasts!
-
Wow, that's a big difference! Congratulations!!!
-
Thanks, ljm! I just read through a little bit of the rollercoaster you've been through lately as described in your blog. I feel for you, hon, and hope everything works out the way you want it to. Good luck!
-
But shortgal, we've lost the same amount of weight! So you've clearly had success at times when I was slow or stalling. Just hang in there and you'll probably be zipping past me again in no time!
-
Good for you! That's such a psychological boost to finally start seeing some new numbers! I tend to revisit the same numbers for awhile before I dip lower, which is why this last few days have been so amazing. I barely got to "know" 203 before I left it behind. Same band date, same age, and now, about the same weight. I'd say we're definitely band sisters! If it wasn't for that pesky six-inch difference in our heights, we'd be twins!
-
I made it! 199.4 this morning! I had to take off my flannel nightshirt, watch, and silver bracelet to make it happen but there it was! It may be gone tomorrow but it will be back and permanent soon! :biggrin2:
-
Thanks, Sades! I realize that I could revisit Twoterville -- in the past, I rarely reach a new low and stay there. Maybe this time will be different. You're so right that we get "glimpses" of how the band works along the way -- perhaps the first couple of weeks after surgery and then after some of the later fills. I know the band has been working all along because I always kept losing but very slowly. I may get back to the slow rate but this faster rate is sure fun! I hope you get there at your next fill, too, Band Sis!
-
I haven't PB'd but I have had to wait for food or liquid to clear. It has been a little uncomfortable but never painful, though a couple of times, I felt a little uneasy. I'm a big chicken so I really chew my food and immediately slow down if I get that feeling (and even if I don't!) I'm a little tighter in the morning so I'm careful with the one pill that I have to swallow (it's very small.) And I have a shake for breakfast.
-
Restriction makes all the difference in the world! I had to force myself to eat some tuna salad last night because I was way short on Protein for the day. And the reason I was short was because I just wasn't hungry all day so I had only had a Slimfast Optima shake (only 10 grams of protein), a Luna bar (11 g) and a Weight Watchers entree (11 g). It was a small can of tuna but about 32 grams of protein! I need to plan better and not be eating at 9 p.m.! But it's hard to eat when you don't feel like it, plus I need to stock up on more protein-rich foods. I'm not supposed to rely too much on Protein shakes. It's time to start using the unjury more. Dang! Why didn't I think of making some Unjury chicken broth?!! I had a fill Friday to bring me to 7ccs and I've lost 4.5 pounds since then! I never lose like this! Trust that it can go quickly once you get to the right level of restriction for you.

That's great, Linda! Isn't it amazing how quickly that happened? I hope to be right behind you!
