Endoscopic Over stitch RNY Revison
Tori Joseph posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hello everyone! how are you? I had my endoscopic over stich RNY Revision on 10/15/2019. I weighed 290lbs on the day of procedure and I now weigh 277lbs. I'm on 6 weeks of liquids (shakes) and then afterwards I can progress onto soft foods, etc. has anyone else had this procedure done as well? If so how's it going for you? any updates? -

It's been 4 months and I'm feeling great. so far I've lost 65lbs went from a size 3x to now XL/1x and I'm able to tolerate everything. I don't dump, have nausea or any of that stuff. I've been very very careful with my eating and chewing. however I am experiencing hair loss which I know a lot of rnys have to go through. it started around my 3 month post op but I think it has slowed down (I hope). life has been pretty normal.. I have more confidence now.. and actually feel good about myself. before this I was in a very dark place but things are going ok now. a little about my diet I have Protein throughout the day such as fish, chicken, Beans, etc along with my veggies. that's basically the only way I eat of course and I absolutely love it! no rice, no Pasta, bread, etc.. which I find is so great. I love this diet and will always follow it for the rest of my life. I l have no interest in those old carby foods.. anyways.. I'm really looking forward and can't wait to see myself on my 1 year surgiversary. I hope everyone is doing well and good luck to those now starting/already on their journey wishing everyone the best new year filled with great health and success. take care all ♥

Hello everyone,I'm 2 weeks and a couple days out. I'm feeling fine.. no pain or anything. but I'm on puree stage and my taste buds have changed a lot..just like they said it would. but it sucks..foods I liked before make me feel like gagging now when I think of it. like I tried salmon the other day something I really loved and I think it's gross now.. yesterday tried chicken and it's the same. I'm really hating this because I need to have my Protein and I really don't want anything going wrong. I also tried some peas and it taste gross as well. also every time I attempt to eat something I feel lots of gas inside of me and I keep burping. I miss liking the foods I use to and it tasting the way it's suppose to. sigh seems nothing taste good anymore. I don't know what to eat.. only 1 Protein shake is allowed in puree stage since they want us to progress slowly onto solids without liquids. so I don't know.. did anyone's taste come back? or does it stay like this forever? :l don't know what to do.. and I really hope the gas stops when eating it's really damn annoying.. also I've been having dry mouth when I wake up which I've never had before..like it's soo dry.. and I drink Water every day I make sure of it.. so yeah these are just some things that's been happening to me..and honestly I don't like it hope it gets better.. :/

My surgery was on the 27th. and the first 1-2 days was kinda rough from all the painful soreness and gas inside of me from surgery.but it has gotten better every day. I'm feeling great.. soreness is fading nicely, I feel like the gas is almost out of me, no bowel obstructions, i'm going to the bathroom fine. I'm feeling almost quite normal again. I'm on Clear liquids and it's going down nicely. I do miss chewing and taste of food though. but I just remind myself this isn't forever only temporary. I'm looking forward to pureed stage when these 2 weeks are up. so I can have some nice tuna and scrambled eggs..all the nice healthly stuff. anywayss just wanted to do update on everything..oh and as for surgery that was some experience for me.. never had any type of surgery before.. I was very nervous but when the moment came I walked into surgery room braver than ever. didn't even know when I fell asleep and it felt like it was over before I even knew it. only problem was gas and soreness when I woke up which is normal. but everything is going great. and I'm really excited for my new healthy lifestyle. good luck to everyone undergoing and who is already post up! woo oh also my migraines went bye bye my constant hunger always triggered them every single day. so two main problems have been solved. now just waiting for my third..which is losing weight and getting to nice healthly bmi. !

thanks so much!! and not sure if gas x helps. but nice hot herbal teas will be your best friend! I've been drinking green tea or even lipton. any nice hot herbal tea in general helps to get the gas out of you. it must only be decaf though (instructed by doctors and nutritionist for our safety of ulcers that can be caused by caffeine). works great for me it will have you burping it all out for sure haha. also must always be hot to get the job done if it gets too cold doesn't work much oh and same goes for your broth it helps also cause it's nice and hot . good luck to you!!

Can't decided if I want RNY or Sleeve..
Tori Joseph posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey all, I'm scheduled for RNY on the 16th of this month. and I'm still not sure if I want RNY or if I should go for the Sleeve instead. I did read that sleeve for some can give same results as bypass with fewer complications but long term success is unknown. I'm just sooo confused. I'm really scared of the complications that come with the bypass. but at the same time I'm willing to risk it cause I want something that has higher success rate and most likely to work without having revision. Anyone else going through this? I need help making my decision... I have about 170lbs to lose can the Sleeve help me lose that much? or should I lean towards the bypass? which is more appropriate? I'm 20 yrs old, 5'8, weighing about 318-320lbs I also have bad skin conditions from being obese so I want to have surety that Sleeve can help me lose enough weight as I need to so I can be relieved from the painful things I'm going through. -
