Am I selfish for wanting bypass?
latido replied to mamamia86's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
This will be the best gift you will give yourself and your family. GERD might get worse with the sleeve or band. GERD vanishes with the bypass. Your weight loss will be permanent, it's kinda hard to con your pouch. You will have no regrets. Regrets are rare, and usually only to those who are adamant about outsmarting their pouch. Well, those people should not have the surgery in the first place. If you follow the rules ad take your supplements, you will be a healthy new you so quickly. I am three months out today, and I am forever changed. -
Shredded, stir fried - I used to mix it with noodled for 'cabbage and noodles'. Now I think I'm inspired to try making some fritters.

I have dozens of 2 ounce pureed foods leftover from my pureed stages. I need to empty my freezer. I have posted about this several times but nobody seemed interested. I have all the portions clearly labeled with their Protein counts. I can't understand what I'm doing wrong because when I had the surgery, I was desperate for help and preparing my meals in advance gave me everything I needed for recovery. Looking for advice, but also for people to come take these foods from my home! Thanks. -

And went from a size 3x to a size XL. At ten weeks now, my size 14's are hanging. It's been a size every ten days. The thrift shoppe has been very kind to me. I attribute my success to meticulous documentation of my intake on an excel sheet, so I can see my patterns and match them to my progress.

You need to be able to cut it with a plastic baby spoon, or I won't be able to chew it. :-) Works for large buffets at conference. Just bring your baby spoon and let the feeding commence.

Lost 50 lbs in 7 weeks...

My spreadsheet looks a lot like this one http://proteinartist.com/60-gram-protein-menus/ but it has the added column of the calories. I also have on Sheet1 a list of all the foods I typically eat. I refer to it as my 'inventory' and instead of looking in the fridge to see what I should eat next, I go by what is mising still in my daily menu, and find a matching number (6 grams missing, 9 grams missing, etc.) on the food list. Then, I can copy/paste it straight into my menu, and the calculation is done. -

If anyone else here is surviving from food-stamps, I would appreciate your guidance (and not your judgements, please!). What kind of shakes/soups/vitamins should I stock up pre-op to prepare for post-op? Obviously, I can only purchase whatever is payable with food stamps. Thank you.

I am starting to be seen as a respectable person. Today, someone offered to help me with my stuff to my car. Then, I went to pick up my accordion from the repair shoppe, and was commissioned to write a concerto (before they even heard my work!). This stuff never happened to the plus size grannypantyflabbylady! I just think it is so sad that this is what the world cares about. I'm sure it wasn't my $3 size large t-shirt from the Salvation Army.

I tried yogurt first and was elated. I then expanded to cottage cheese, and then shredded cheese with refried Beans...

Why not? Buy the unsweetened. It's yummy and has a gram of Protein per cup.

In my three week stall, I went from a 2x to a 16.

I decided to put my items up on Ebay, because there were no local takers through craigslist. I hope these are reasonable for those who need it. http://www.ebay.com/sch/skyisfallinghenny/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

I stalled at week 2. It lasted three weeks. I finally cracked it by upping my calories. I added full fat cheese, avocado, and nut butters.
