When a nutritionist asks you to eat five rather than three meals a day, how do you make sure it isn't grazing? In between drinking and eating, I am using my mouth the whole day!
-
It's been three days on this schedule now, and I am eating or drinking nonstop. To calculate five meals every three hours, 5*3=15. 15 hours of my day, I am eating every three hours. In between, I have JUST enough time to wait 30-45 minutes, twice, to drink for 90 minutes, and eat again. I'm exhausted.

Starting year two, feeling hopeless
latido replied to latido's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I increased to two Protein drinks for two weeks, but then went back to one. I have always gotten at least 60 grams daily. I drink 50-70 ounces of Water a day. I really am a 'model' patient except for the weight loss stall. -

I worked with a personal trainer for three months but I did not lose anything on the scale (but lost inches). I had since downgraded my workout because my asthma got worse. Now I just walk for thirty minutes every day, including a six minute interval training routine -

I'm ten months out, and have basically been expanding my diet with so many new discoveries. Salmon fish remains an impossibility. No matter how many ways I prepare it, and how much I drown it in salsa, it still needs to be brought back up. In trying to describe it to a friend, she kept asking, 'What-- is it an allergy? A sensitivity? " And I didn't know how to respond. In essence, my bloodstream is fine with the addition of salmon to my diet, but my POUCH is the one who is rejecting it. So then, what category does that fall under? Grouchiness? Pouch the Grouch? How do you explain that to the world?

Ha ha! Thanks, I needed that today. :-)

I'm in the identical situation. Ten months out, 80 lost, 50 more to go, 5 months stalled. I am frustrated that I can taste new things and not suffer the consequences. I am really very strict and religious with my intake, but need to boost my weight loss again. I don't want to be past the 18 months and still weigh 180! I really want to go to the 100lb mark so that I can begin to plan for skin removal surgery. I don't know how to answer any of these questions.

Its' been three months now, and the chills have mostly stopped and I'm mostly returned to "normal". I'm developing pockets of clarity and focus, but they are rare. I am a full time graduate student and lecturer, and this inability to think for more than "Should I go potty" is taking me apart. Who cares about life with hair loss when you can't think through a basic textbook?! My numbers are cutting it to normal now, and so I'm not getting any sympathy, medically, since the objectives had been met on paper. So frustrating.

San Francisco Bay Area Medi-Cal
latido replied to latido's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I thought that was funny too, lol. Well, this is helpful. Except, until my Anthem card comes in the mail (and it took 6 weeks to kick in!), I went to a private PCP locally. He wrote a referral to Summit, but they wouldn't take me. I am appalled that they wouldn't see me as a follow-up, because they wouldn't get paid. That is sick. -
I just moved to the Bay Area and am looking for a group to follow-up with since my RNY in New York. I have Medi-cal + Anthem. Where did you guys go to? The medical system seems so complicated. I found one group on Anthem's website, but when I faxed the referral and called for an appointment, they told me I have the wrong insurance. I don't know what to do!!

San Francisco Bay Area Medi-Cal
latido replied to latido's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I applied and got approved for Medi-Cal (straight/full), but then they said I had to pick a managed care plan within thirty days. I had to call Healthcare Options, and pick on eof two choices. There was Alameda Alliance, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, so I selected Anthem. That's about as much as I know from this. Meaning, when I called some offices and asked about insurance, they all said, "Yes to Blue cross, no to the one from Medi-Cal". Nobody is taking Obamacare plans or government plans. Unless I don't know where to look. I tried a referral to Summit and Sutter. Both said they won't take it. -

But that's the thing. I'm not sick at all. I have no symptoms. I'm just nauseous.
-
I am six months after gastric bypass. Occasionally, I have a stretch of a few days where I can't get anything in. The past week has been one of chronic nausea. I am so confused. I don't know why on such days I can barely get in a shale and a tea. Everything else just sickens me if I even think of scrambling an egg. I don't know what this means, and I sure hope it is hormonal. I kinda wish I can blame everything on that... but I think the pouch is simply weird, so I'm wondering about others. I'm tired of drinking tea all week.
