  1. I added vanilla flavor, splenda, and wal-mart's orange tangerine flavored drink enhancer (the knockoff for the MIO brands). You can find it in the juice section near the crystal lite powders. It's actually quite excellent for a change. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Orange-Tangerine-Drink-Enhancer-1.62-fl-oz/35105361
  2. ...dunno. Just wondering. If estrogen is what's causing these issues, then why not take hormone-based birth control?
  3. I edited the original post to include a link to the wal-mart item.
  4. And somewhere else I read that the rapid weight loss releases the estrogen (stored in the fat cells) into the bloodstream, and then out. As it journeys out of you (because you don't need as much anymore), they cause highs and lows.
  5. Made an appointment with OB-GYN!
  6. I couldn't even get vitamin D covered before the surgery.
  7. Dear God, Music is my livelihood. How long until my abdominal muscles return to its strengths? Sincerely, Me

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!

Those damn moods.... Had my hair washed this morning by a visiting nurse. I live alone, and the doctor made the referral... nevertheless, it took a hit on my self-esteem.

    Help! - Clear Liquids Only

shake it up. Add vanilla and cinnamon. Drink clear chicken broth. Alternate. Go on netflix and DONT LEAVE!
  11. Just to show you what empowerment looks like:
  12. I'm working to refine that list. I have added two foods yesterday, and continue to experiment. I hope to put together a blog as soon as I have my brain back.
  13. Reminds me of a granny-type nightgown I found at the Wal-Mart plus section years ago. It was labeled OSFM for size. Upon further scrutiny, I saw it said "One Size Fits Most". I'll never forget that.

    Needing lots of support

You did the harder thing. Now the rest will be a piece of cake...er, protein shake :-)
  18. The only disabling condition is the human one. Thank you for understanding. As stated earlier, my autism contributed to my success, making me an excellent candidate for the surgery. My extreme discipline (which stems from a need for routine) is neurological, and not swayed by emotion. A definite win-win.

    The new me????????????

    That smile is real! Well-deserved.
  20. Wow, so it has to have the words 'Facts" on it rather than "information". Why, thank you so much! I will have to test that tomorrow first thing in the morning. I've been avoiding wal-mart because they stock their Protein products in the pharmacy section. Maybe you can find out exactly which Protein powder she was able to buy? That would be such a tremendous help for me. Thank you again!
  21. Not to incite anything here, but autism is not a condition. It is a different perspective on thoughts and information. Majority of autistics today have higher intellect than their peers, so let's look for the positive reasons why he can succeed on this surgery, rather than listen to psych's who may not understand the complex and intertwined reasons why autistics have narrow/unwise food choices.

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!

June'ers, here's a treat. I decided to compose a RNY SERIES of music to symbolize my thoughts through my journey. The first one is "Anticipation", night before RNY. (you can actually hear the colon prep kicking in!) The second one is "Acclimation", ten days post-op (today). Hope you can 'feel it'. Listen here: Anticipation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYJzrTUpxmE and Acclimation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcZzhymybkA
  23. @@Jillyr How is he doing? I am ten days post-op. My need for routine has disciplined me into a speedy recovery.

    Abdominal pain after bypass

I second that. If you cannot keep stuff done for more than a few hours, it's time for lifesaving fluids. ((hugs))
