Just had my first fill! It wasn't bad at all. I will weigh tomorrow and see if it has had any effect. The problem with me is that I base my happiness on the number in the scale...Big Mistake! Good luck to all as we move into the third month.

Hello all! I am doing pretty good, but not having success with my scale going in the right direction. As a matter of fact since I started eating real food, I have gone backwards 4 pounds. I am ready for a fill. I am so scared I will keep going backwards and I have another 3 1/2 weeks before fill time...AHHHH! Oh, well I still am excited for a 16 pound weight loss in the 3 weeks. I wouldn't trade this adventure for the world. Keep up the good work gang! We'll get there together!

Post Op Diareha and weakness
livn4thm replied to pamajama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! You are not alone, unfortunately I was very constipated the first week but for the last week I have diarrhea everytime I eat. I am very frusterated and my doctor said it is not caused by the band (yeah right). I think everyone's body copes with the trauma of the surgery and pain meds differently. Hang in there though, after about two weeks, you will feel almost back to normal. Jen -
Lost an even 20 pounds since Pre-op started 4-3-08 and was Banded on 4-17-08.

Intense pain in left shoulder, still gas?
livn4thm replied to Dia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For the most part my pain has gone away except at night. All night my shoulder kills me unless I sit up. But, how can you sleep the rest of your life sitting up? Someone needs to find a cure for this. LOL! Sorry for the ranting. -
Intense pain in left shoulder, still gas?
livn4thm replied to Dia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on the 17th and after the first two days I didn't have anymore pain until 2 days ago. I know what you're talking about. I kept calling the 24 hour nurses because nothing was cutting the "gas" pain. I kept thinking though, this feels different. Everytime I hold my breath it goes away but when I breathe it hurts again. I really thought I was losing my mind. It almost feels like stabbing over and over again and even buring on the side of my neck. I think more needs to be looked at about this "gas" pain. If in fact it is diaphragm related, then I need something to discharge the nerve in my shoulder. I'm going to get ICY HOT!!! -
Hi Everyone, I am new to this site and was just approved for surgery on 4-17-08. It seems that since I got this news everything has gone super speed and I'm getting really nervous. This is the best thing that has happened to me in quite a while and I can't wait for a new beginning. April 17th anyone else?

I am new to this site and just wanted to introduce myself. I am working with Dr Malley out of Kansas City (anyone else use him?) and also know that I have at least 6 months before I can be approved for my band. Insurance requires once per month visits with a dietitian for 6 months prior to having approval. Let me know how you did with this situation and any advice would be great! I am excited to meet everyone and offer my support as well.
