Good evening fellow sleevers. I am writing to you from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I started the journey to bariatric surgery on December 4th 2013. My surgery date is June 9th 2014. I find it incredibly unbelievable that I have come this far and I haven't turned back. The support groups and education classes that I had to attend since December have been very helpful, but now that I'm close to my actual date I find that I look to the forums for encouragement. With that said I will start my liquid diet on June 2nd and I see my surgeon for the final time June 4th. I have been overweight my entire life. I had two successful weight loss attempts, but of course the weight came back on. During this journey I found out that I have hypothyroidism. Getting that straightened out has been wonderful. I found out that I have sleep apnea. Getting on a CPAP machine and using it regularly has also helped. I am just praying that I can get to and through the surgery and that with the help of all of you and my family I can make this my final attempt at permanent weight loss.
