    Share your Costco staples!

unsalted roasted cashews unsalted roasted almonds - ours no longer carries these, they have Blue Diamond smokehouse in their place Pacific Gold beef jerky Jack's Cantina salsa Pure Protein bars baby carrots fresh berries babybel guacamole Halo mandarins
  3. 7 months out and Milagro the Mexican Wonder Tummy still loves to make himself known, especially with certain foods.
  4. More than a bite or two of rice. Ow. None is better but I can nibble to taste test what I'm cooking for the rest of the family. Pasta and noodles are better but I avoid them too.
  5. I'm using future plastics as a motivator now that I've hit the blah phase of weight loss and this thread was fabulous! @@MichiganChic I'll be 50 or 51 when I have plastics done and we share pretty common pre-op stats so thanks for the inspiration!

    Biotin Bummer

I grew more hair everywhere. I had to stop taking it - just as I began to lose my hair from the surgery! But it was that or look like a Yeti and I'm already furry from PCOS.

    No! Not the booty!

I found mine halfway down my thighs. SQUATS!
  8. No problem at all swallowing Prozac here.

What to take and day of?

Like Forsythia, I felt awake and rested post-op and did work, read, and walked. Since I stayed in Mexico an extra day at the request of my concerned husband (pre-trip planning), I was glad I had a lot to do!
  10. Price wasn't a deciding factor for me and I still chose Dr. Quinones. I definitely could've paid more for an American-style hospital setting but that wasn't important, the surgeon was.
  11. I'm losing hair about the same rate as after I gave birth to my children 20+ years ago. I notice it, my stylist can kind of see it, and my husband sees extra hair in the bathroom but that's it. Biotin is a no-go for me thanks to the way it accelerated ALL hair growth (ick) so I'm just dealing with it.
  12. I still feel like a bit of a freak when I read of people being further out than I am and only being able to eat a few bites at a sitting. My loss is great, my energy is through the roof, and I'm actually taking the stairs to the 3rd floor of my hotel rather than hitting the elevator because the stairs are right there. I would've NEVER done that before surgery! Just keep remembering this is YOUR journey and it'll be different than everyone else's.

    Anyone in SC?

    Myrtle Beach for me!
  14. It was very easy for me until recently when my body smiled, said "that's enough, dear" and decided to hang onto every last ounce. That's okay, I know it's trying to keep itself (and me) from starving to death. I didn't get to hit Onederland before leaving for a conference this coming weekend which was a personal goal. It's tough, and I'm not happy, but I also wasn't willing to do anything crazy or risk injury before leaving as we'll be doing a lot of driving, sitting, and walking. When I get back though, LOOK OUT!
  15. I have mine. Another perk of surgery done in Mexico.
  16. I'm pretty comfortable traveling alone - much to my husband's dismay - and went to TJ on my own for sleeve surgery. I would not have chosen Juarez period.

    itchy skin when exercising

Yes and it was worse when I was heavier and in cold weather!
  18. MFP and the simple Fitbit Zip work for me.
  19. 10W to 9.5W. Bring on the 9's and please can I be done with wides? I doubt it as my whole bio family has wide feet, but still, a girl can dream...

    Is this a plateau?

Sounds like one and it's your body's way of protecting itself. It's pretty sure you're trying to kill it right now and it's in survival mode. KEEP ALL THE FATS! Don't forget to take measurements too. That's saved me from killing the scale a few times!

    Lump under one incision

I had a small bump under the edge of one incision. No pain, no redness, just a bump. 4 months post-op, it's gone. I did some occasional massage with coconut oil off and on once I was healed and that may/may not have helped. I'm fair skinned, 47, and scar easily. Good for you getting it checked out - better to be safe than sorry!
  23. My personal experience with Dr. Q and his staff was amazing. I'm thrilled with my decision and would make it again in a heartbeat. I traveled alone from SC (my choice, not my husband's, LOL) and never felt concerned about it. I eat clean, lots of veggies, good quality protein, fruit, and avoid as much processed food as I can though I do make conscious decisions to enjoy some other things at time. The gym at 4:30am is my friend as I know I'm actually going to make it there and I love having it to myself and the podcasts on my iPhone. The sleeve is an amazing tool and I'm so glad I chose Dr. Q to help me.
  24. The only sugar-free item I use is the Crystal Light drops for water and that's sparingly, just a couple of times a week. I'd rather have sugar than the chemicals but I'm not drinking as much now since plain water doesn't go down as easily as the flavored. I used to guzzle plain water all the time so this is a sleeve/taste change.
