Thanks for the response, had no clue what you were talking about. First time i've ever heard of such. Good luck this go round. -

What the heck does snapping your band mean?? I've never heard of that. -
I was also at a very slow losing point. Last Dr. visit only 4 lbs. down in 6 weeks. Found the website The Daily Plate, which has very easy logging in of food consumed. I started doing it 2 weeks ago and have lost 7 lbs. in the first 9 days. I was amazed at how much calories I was consuming once I started counting them again. I guess it has just creeped back up there with my not holding myself accountable for every bite. Good luck to you and hope that you get the jump start you want. Karen

Gothcha, know what your mean about husband finding other uses for the $$. Mine certainly would be able to quickly. Enjoy your summer with your new body. Best wishes on the last 10 lbs.

jjsmiles, what is your secret?? I banded on the same day as you and have only lost almost 60 lbs. I know 60 is great, but it has not come easy at all. I'm doing water aerobics at least 5 classes a week, weight training a couple days a week. I know that I have gained alot of muscle, but the weight is just not coming off as fast as i'd like. Did you have major restriction in your band from the beginning? Any advice would be appreciated. Feel free to private message me or post your response here. Thanks in advance. Karen

coolrn, Just curious, why did you do the TT and BL before at goal?? Not that i wouldn't love to go ahead and do it myself. I am a self pay though so it may never happen for me anyway.

I have 8 cc in a 14 cc band. Some days I feel it and things get "hung up" but most times I can eat anything and everything. Have never had any difficulty getting water down. Gulping even not problem. Told my Dr. that i can't wait to not be able to eat breads. He says I will get there, but not soon enough for me. Surgery was 9/25/07. Fills every 6 weeks since then. I'm pretty much at a stand still in the weight loss dept. getting frustrated. Exercising(water aerobics, weight lifting machines) more than ever. Weight yoyoing up 2 lbs. down 2 lbs. over and over again.

Was very happy to see this topic today. Am sitting here at the computer, thinking I'm hungry. I too can eat whatever I want. Sometimes i do get "hung". But not very often and only when I let myself get too hungry and end up eating too fast. Am longing for the day when I can't eat bread like so many others have said on this forum. I have lost 57 lbs since surgery on 9/25/07. Most of that was in the first few months. I have 7cc in a 14 cc band. Will get a little more added when i go back to Dr. on 21st. Just holding on until then because I am sooo busy right now. Don't want to take the time to go. Best of luck with everyone on this site and hate that ya'll are struggling with the same thing as me, but am happy to know that I am not alone in this struggle. Keep up the support of each other. I will be checking back with this thread. -
how many cc's for restriction 14cc
kmmhmomof4 replied to Alfie's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have the 14 cc band(9/07). Fill #1= 3 cc (12/07). #2=1 cc (1/08), #3=2cc(1/08) total of 6cc. Scheduled 3/3 for fill #4. #3 does feel tight in the a.m., but as day wears on, loosens up. Still can eat pretty much anything as long as I chew enough. Still looking for the time when I CAN'T eat breads. That will be a GREAT day. -
Way to go Time4me. It sounds like it is your time to shine. Enjoy and keep up the great work.

I have now had 3 fills. #1-3cc, #2-1cc, #3-2cc in a 14 cc band. This time I really do feel it. Haven't felt much change up to this last one. Will go back in 6 weeks and get another unless this one still as effective as now. If so, I'll wait. Glad to hear from you Carol and thanks! What is you story?? Any kids, job, husband, etc...??? Me- married 21 years, 4 daughters (17,15,14,11) stay at home mom thinking about getting a job, but sometimes it gets so crazy here that i don't know if i could handle working. We will see.

Jan, me too on the PBing. Waffle did it. Strange though because I had one 2 days before and no problems. I am 2 weeks post 1st fill. I was beginning to think I need another now but not so sure now since the waffle incident. Scheduled for 2nd fill on the 31st though.

Is The Lap Band Surgery Tax Deductable as Medical?
kmmhmomof4 replied to Chiquita's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I also had to self pay. In my case, My grandmother died recently and my mom and I were left with her checking account on which both of us were listed as well as my grandmother. I am wondering how this is going to go tax wise for me. I removed the money needed for surgery from her account and put it into my personal account and wrote checks from my account. Anyone know if I am going to need to claim the money as income or is it considered mine as I was on the account?? Any advise on this would be appreciated. -
Linda, I also can eat anything so far. Will have 1st fill on 11/19. Can't wait. I am hungry alot. Also trying to keep it to the 1/2 cup amount, but very hard. Am trying to keep the breads to a minimum since from what I hear, bread is going to pretty much be out once I'm restricted.(I pray that is the case for me since bread is my weakness.) Only advise is do your best. And if it gets to bad, call up dr. and discuss with him your hunger problems. I'm assuming that since dr. says you are doing well, that means you are losing, but I know it's no fun to be hungry.
-
Thanks, NM, that was I was thinking would be the case. It only makes sense that you wouldn't want food in there filling it up. Glad appt. is early a.m. Have you had more than one fill?? I am guessing not since you got banded around the same time as me.

Went to Dr. yesterday. Am now scheduled to get first fill on 19th of November. Forgot to ask if I am supposed to show up with an empty stomach or if I can eat normally leading up to it. Any one know the answer to that?? Will call and find out, but curious what others have been told.

Am soo glad i got on here today. It sounds like lots of you feel the same way I do. Hungry. Am going back to Dr. on 11/5 To discuss need for a fill. Hope he will just go ahead and do it that day. I don't need to discuss it, I know I need one. Am a little scared of it, and know that I will be going back to scratch on diet( liquids, soft, puree, etc.) Now I have no problems with anything going down. Hope that will change after fill. I do get full fast, but hungry often. Encouraging to know that i am not unusual in this. Thanks all for sharing.

The one that i was on didn't matter what size you were because nothing held you in but the force of the ride. I know exactly what you are talking about though. At Disney 5 years and a few pounds ago, I threatened to come back and find the person at the beginning of the line if I didn't fit on the ride after he said that i would. I rode most everything there. A few tight squeezes but no Walks of shame Thank goodness. Now six flags was a different story, tried one roller coaster and walked right out the other side of it because no way was i gonna get into that seat. Didn't hang around long enough to see who all noticed. How long since you have been banded? Only a little over a month for me.

I went on one of those at a local fair that pins you up against the wall(centrifigal(spelling?)force). One month after surgary, it did not feel good. Lots of pressure on stomach.
-
Got my band on Sept. 25th. Surgary went well, home next day. It is now 3 weeks later. I am down 25 lbs. Am eating some puree some regular food. So far have had no problem getting anything down. Am eating 3-4 times a day. One being either a SF fudgecicle or SF pudding. Will probably get my first fill on Nov. 5. Do feel like I need it because I could eat more easily and am feeling hungry frequently. I am getting in my 64 oz. of water with no problem so far. Is all of this normal??? First support group next Thursday. Debating on going to it or taking kids to fair. We'll see what happens.:clap2:

I am 2 days post op. and starting to feel hungry, but having what i guess is gas pains when drinking my water. Am moving around freely with minimum pain on getting up or down. The largest incision is pretty sore, but the other 5 aren't bad at all. Is all of this normal??
