    Achey under right rib cage

Glad to hear it's probably not gallbladder...could be the port site healing. I was told if my left side is painful to call...they never said anything about the right. Just got a little worried when I googled it and found a bunch of gallstone symptoms, and how it happens after WLS. Last thing I want is another surgery right now! I should just stay away from google, lol!

    Owww

Mine wasn't peaceful either...my own moaning from pain woke me up. I was pretty out of it, though...gotta love morphine!
  3. Bluesister, I have my first fill on the 9th too! Not sure if I need one, though. My surgeon put 5cc in my band during surgery...it seems to be working. Crystal, you poor thing!! I had one stuck episode on day 5 with Protein shake...it was so painful, it felt like a heart attack...I can't imagine going that long feeling that way :-(. I was almost swollen shut. I wouldn't feel bad about having Fluid out...let the surgeon do what's best. I really hope they sort it out and you feel better. *hugs*.
  4. You are in size 12 already?! Wowzers! Congrats! I'm still wearing the same size...just looser. I am looking forward to being cleared for all exercise...one more week! Walking in this heat gets old. I have equipment and classes I would rather use inside :-).
  5. Your calories sound low...if they are too low your metabolism will slow down thinking you are starving...it will hold on to fat, water, etc. I bet once you start getting more down, you will shed pounds :-). I didn't get a lot down at first either.

    coffee?

I drink 1-2 cups every morning..it helps loosen the band a bit, yet takes away my appetite...so win-win!

    Owww

1st week is the worst...It does get better...hang in there, relax, walk once an hour (its painful, but makes the pain go away faster), put the heating pad on..its hardest the first few days. I sucked on hard candy for the throat...took gas X, pain meds, walked, and applied heat to the stomach and sholder...I slept in the recliner for 1 week. Focusing on a good show took my mind off of the pain for a bit. You will make it :-)
  8. 23 pounds down, and feeling good so far! Aches every now and then, but nothing horrible. My rings are loose on my fingers..clothes are loose. About to start normal food in a couple days...I am actually bored of mushies, so I can't wait! I can eat about 1 cup- 1 1/2 cups of food at a sitting, and that is it. Averaging 900-1000 calories a day and satisfied (which is what my surgeon wanted). So far its going really well! The toughest part was the pre-diet and the week after surgery.
  9. I haven't told people either...saying:" I'm trying to stick to low carb diet" has worked for me.

    Onederland !

How exciting! Congrats! We have similar stats...gives me hope I can do it too :-)

    UNEVEN BOOBS

I've asked for a check, but my insurance refuses until I'm 40. Ridiculous. I've never felt any oddities...other than being slightly uneven.

    Oatmeal

I'm on mushies...so I have oatmeal mixed with protein powder....I get my protein and stay satiated. It's actually quite good and filling.
  13. I want to start blogging, but considering I haven't really told family or friends about my surgery...I feel odd blogging about it. At the same time, I want to share my experiences with like minded people...and help others along this journey. Plus, I feel it will keep me accountable. Those of you with blogs...is it worth it?
  14. I also miss Chinese buffets! Eating popcorn at the movies will be missed as well. I can still gulp water, but can only eat a cup of food. Guess I'm lucky? I am finding ice cold drinks hard to drink...more due to temp and it making me feel tight. I was also a gamer! Kinda bored with what's out there now, which is probably a good thing. Lol
  15. I almost forgot to tell you, ladies...take your rings off prior to going in for surgery. They never told me to until I was laying there with my hospital gown on...just before I was to be wheeled in, I had to grease up my fingers and work hard to pull then off (my fingers were swollen by then from the IV fluids, and just fat fingers in general). Lol! Luckily my hubby was right there to hold them for me.
  16. Get a heating pad if you don't already have one :-) The day of, you will probably be nervous, but its easy peasy. You will hurt a bit at first, but it only lasts about a week. Walk every hour like Weevie says. You will probably be the most swollen on days 4, 5 or 6. So just be careful of swallowing the protein shakes on those days...(something I wish my surgeon told me before hand). You will do great!
  17. I cant follow my own advice and stay off the scale...but I lost another pound,so I'll take it!

I'm not used to losing weight at all, let alone this quickly...so the excitement keeps me coming back. Ha! I need to stop, though...because I know there will be stalls.

I keep saying after surgery I will stay away from the scale. I have my doubts though. =)

Junebug, way to go! I am having the same issue darn it! I keep telling people and myself to not be a slave to the scale, and I am not going to weigh until my 6 week appt/first fill. I weighed this morning too...down 9 lbs since surgery (2.5 lbs since last week when I weighed...DON'T JUDGE!!!) Hahahaha!

Blogs...do they make you more successful?

Good luck, @@4me4them ! You are making the first steps to a new you! The first steps can be frustrating....a lot of appointments, but it's worth it :-).

Blogs...do they make you more successful?

I started one on blogger, just not published yet. I'll share it with you all once I do :-). I struggle with telling people close to me because of the negative comments they have already made about this kind of surgery. It really sucks there is a stigma attached to it, when it helps so many!

    Surgery tom

Good luck! You will do great!
  21. Mine are all right below my breast area.
  22. I could shower from day 1...but had no bandages. Instead I have 3 incisions that appeared glued together with clear glue like covering. It kept them dry. I was instructed no bath or hot tub for 1st week.

    Gas pains worse with everything

The meds will get you through the worst of it. No need to suffer if you don't have to. The first few days are the roughest. It does get better ...just hang in there

    Gas pains worse with everything

Mine was about 9 days...I just kept trying to walk it off...then turned the heating pad on the worst areas. Did you get pain meds?
