Did your shoe size go down?

yes my shoe size has gone down...it's crazy!! like 1/2 a size...my old shoes are loose
  3. I've already searched previous posts but wanted more feedback (recent) as well. So I went to the gym and got my body weight checked according to BMI, body fat, muscle and etc. Turns out I'm losing muscle and need to gain muscle (and obv body fat as well). So the trainer made a plan for me, basically cutting down my cardio (b/c that's all I've been doing lately). The plan is: 2x's a week cardio (I LOVE body combat and Zumba), and lifting/weights 3x's a week, with 2 days off. Has anyone started lifting and cut down cardio? I know I should have been lifting but it's kinda boring, need to get back in to the groove. Would love to hear your thoughts/experience as well. Thanks

    Muscle loss....Gym question

Thank you for writing such a long and detailed response! Yes, you do have a point. My weight has been stuck for a few weeks right now, but none of my pants fit anymore and have cut down on taking meds so it's inches (at least that's what it feels like). I didn't tell the trainer about my WLS because she started freaking out when I told her I was diabetic so I left it at that. It was a free session from the gym anyways. So do you think it would be better to do lift weights once a week and stick to cardio the rest of the time? In the past (prior to WLS), weights would make more of a difference in my body but everything is changed now. I'm going to ask my bariatric doctor his thoughts as well when I see him next time. Btw - how often do you work out?

    Eat the yolk?

Yes because of cholesterol even though it's gotten a LOT better after surgery. I have 2 eggs a day (egg whites i mean). I guess I'll have the yolk as well now I'm scared to have mayo because I threw up from it

    Insulin Pumpers having VSG?

I had a hard time with my bs going all over the place. I wore my pump for 1 day and then bs were crazy so then went to shots, but still running high. They didn't really know how to treat it to be honest. My endoc told me to cut the basal in 1/2 as well. I didn't have to do any diet before surgery so yeah. Didn't experience too many lows to be honest.

    Type 1 Diabetic and Sleeve

I'm about 2.5 months out and I'm doing really well. I didn't have too many drops but i do now b/c I'm working out daily now. I cut down on insulin and cut out victoza and only taking 1 metformin pill. It;s taking awhile to lose weight but it's def. made a difference
  17. I take those daily now...but I started Vitamins a month after surgery. The vita gummies were fine....love the taste
  18. yeah true....everything tastes diff now...a lot of food doesnt taste good anymore
  19. Honestly, my gallbladder was 10xs more worse. Correct me if im wrong, but they dont take out the rest of the stomach...they leave it in and just stitch it up where the make it smaller anyways i have diabetes as well and other issues and am healing well....i had to get up and pee a million times the first two days (couldnt control my blood sugars) so that helped a lot w/ gas...honestly it was a joke compared to my gallbladder. i would rec to it to anyone....im out 2.5 months and my incisions are still healing (slow healer)...and i havent lost a lot of weight b/c of insulin and other meds but very happy w/ my decision. GET IT!
  20. Honestly, i think i have a stomach of steel b/c im about 2.5 months out and i can have reg ice cream (kids scoop) w/ no problems. Im guessing its a slider for me bc it doesnt bother me. sugar free ice cream bothers my stomach if i have too much but can eat that too. I do crave sugar and sweets so i have sugar free choc instead. its really hard...but i make sure i work out daily and eat better...once in a while i splurge.
  21. Random question...I'm a little over 2 months out and just yesterday had a baby carrot and it got stuck in my throat. I wanted to throw up but couldnt. It was really crazy at work and everyone was panicking :/ I had carrots last week and it was fine....I figured maybe I ate too fast and then had a sip of Water on top of it b/c I couldn't stop coughing and that's why felt like throwing up. Had some carrots again today but ate slowly, same thing! How odd is that? Was having some daily and all of a sudden it's not okay to eat. I can salad just fine. Anyone else experience something similiar?

    6 week Post Op

I'm the same...2 months and 1 week out and i've lost 21 lbs....it's b/c of all my meds (diabetic) so it's not fun....it'll go away slowly....I've lost more inches bc my clothes are looser, and people are noticing as well. Just keep at it

    Bariatricpal scared me shitless

I haven't read all the posts but honestly don't get scared. I have diabetes type 1, fibro and other issues and got it done. Honestly I'm amazed that it wasn't painful. My gallbladder was 10xs worse for me. And about throwing up and etc. Only once because I ate too much. Besides that I'm eating everything normal and etc. Everyone has A diff story and their body is diff.
  25. I agree with what the the post above me said. I got my hair done a few weeks after getting the sleeve and am still shedding as I was before. Haven't hit the 3 month mark yet when you lose a ton of hair but it's bc of internal. Not what you do externally to your hair. Do it! It'll make you feel good as well
