i went through BeLiteWeight , but had surgery in Detriot... its not so much the company you have to worry about... its the doctor. I hade Dr. Weiner and i loved him. Im not sure about the Mexico hospital i havent heard anything bad though. Check and research your doc online. Even try to give him a call?? Lauren

I read a thread a while ago about a shake that tastes like a reeces cup! This was before i was banded and i thought i would remember.... well NOPE! If anyone knows what im talking about could you post the link to buy them? Also, any GOOOOOOD yummy premixed shakes (still on full liquids) would be appreciated

MiniPearl- My doc said the lowest BMI you could have is 30 ( that considers you obese) to get the surgery. How tall are u? Lauren

Ok guys, i have a problem quite to the opposite... time to gross u out, but im 4 days post op i didnt have a BM until yesterday. Welllll then lets just say all hell broke loose. Now lets just say all ive got is liquids, if ya know what i mean. Well uh it wasnt concerning me too much until i started passing alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll of this wonderful gas, now some likes to slip out!!!!!!! HOW GROSSSS! i know. HELP i dont want to have to wear depends!! lol! will this pass?

I would concur to call the doc, but in the meantime if your not getting your Water in and your dehydrated my doctor told me you would feel like crap and ur about to die! lol which sounds like what your going through... if your dehydrated that could causing the weakness. Check for yellow pee! when you pee clear you know that your well hydrated!! p.s- i was banded the 11th

I have two words for u.... Vitamin E!!! this is the BEST moisturizing agent, you can buy the straight up oil, or a lotion fortified with it. If dryness is the culpret of ur ichyness this will cure it!! GOOOOD LUCK!

Hey all!! My starting BMI is 30.5, which i guess would def. qualify me as a low BMI bandster. I just got banded on the 11th of october so im still in the liquids -- YUK-- any suggestions?!?! ANYYYYWAYSSS do you guys think that weight loss will be alot harder for us because we have low BMI's?? And ill tell ya what im worried about, getting to goal. When im there im so fricken worried that my port will be like a visible bump! But i guess i have a looooong time to go before that! Lauren

Hey guys, i guess i classify as being young. Im 19! i got banded on oct 11 and i think its great. Yea the liquid diet is a bitch but i look at it as me living a healthier life from here on out!! YEAHHHHHHHHHH! lol i had to put that in. BTW 4 days post op down 15 lbs!!!! holy shnikes! i think its all water weight though... PEACE!

I was banded on the 11th, im two days post op and doing OOOKK, im in pain around my port which is below my chest (not the best spot) so sitting up is difficult. How long until i can expect some relief from pain. My doctor only has me on tylonol! And-- my 'holes' are held with gule, do you think i can shower? my doc said yes, but be careful, but im afraid they will let go! any suggestions?

I just got banded on the 11th by Dr.Wiener and he was GREAT! I dont deal with belite anymore, once i scheduled my surgery and got my dr, i talked to him. He is very informative and conforting, i plan on returning for my first fill. Belite is ok if you plan to deal with ur doc as soon as your booked. Dont expect to hear from them, really you dont need to either. Jackie, shannon and Dr.Wiener took care of all my pre-op questions .. and i plan on calling them for post op questions too!

Well joyce, i will be honest with you, im 19 and i self payed. My mom was very supportive and to behonest, i didnt tell my dad! I told him when i got home. I told him that i wasnt sure how he would react so i told him i was going to a seminar and i cam back with the surgery! when he asked why i didnt tell him i said i didnt know that he had a opening and i figured why wait?! lol. i know its lying but if this makes my quality of life alot better i would not want to wait any longer than i have to. this may sound wierd but im DYING for something sweet like sugar free pudding, im only 2 days post op so i know i have a while, but how long am i looking? mushies? Thanks! Any suggestions for my liquid sweet tooth?

Hey all .. the day finally came!! i got banded yesterday! Im on my way home now which is like an 8 hr drive, so we stopped halfway. Im REALLY sore, and i cant sit up alone, but other than that the only pain im having in in my upper stomach (below my chest). This is normal.... right? now get this, i was banded with a 10 cc band, and have 7 cc's in it already!! the surgeon said my stomach was small and it wouldnt have even stayed around my stomach without it. WOW.. well if anyone can offer me some insite as to weather my pain is normal, that would be awsome. And how long until i can sit up on my own?!?! THANKSSSS LAuren

This may seem like a crazy idea, but make a deal with someone you live with, like your DH. That he will hide the scale throughout the week and bring it out on like say, saturday morning, to weigh yourself. After that he takes it back and if you dont see it in the bathroom... out of sight out of mind!.. remeber, keep a weight chart starting from your highest weight, and date. Then if during the week you feel the need to step on the non exisistant scale take a look at your progress log to make you feel good about yourself!! Also try to focus your positives on things other than a number. For instance, not cheating on your diet all day, or week... how your clothes fit, how healthy you feel, things like that. And i know it may sound stupid but it def helps me to journal my feelings everynight and when im feeling like a failure i read back a couple weeks when i was heavier... ya know? idk it helps me.. That was basically his reasoning, he didnt want to see erosion. Im not sure if he was expecting a stomach as small as mine either, after surgery he told me he as never seem a stomach as small as mine.. wierd write?! but yea my doctor is Dr. Mathew Weiner in Detroit MI

Def talk to your doc. I wasnt that nervous before my surgery but when i was coming out of anesthesia(probably how i react to that stuff) instead of getting neauseated i got SEVERLY anxious. Like i was trying to get off of my bed and like run out of the hospital- lol- i thought they were out to get me. They gave me meds then, and in an hour or two i was better. But take it from me, you dont want that to happen after surgery, so take something before hand.

He only uses the 10 cc band, he said he doesnt use the ap band

isicomisso- Hey, im 19 and a full time student working two part time jobs, take it from me , YOU CAN DO IT IN A WEEK nooooo problem. I took off a thursday friday from, school and work and will be returning monday. Teachers are very understanding too... at least mine were! good luck let me know how it goes!

How long did it take you?

I thought it would be fun to see how many calories we try to get in during a typical day. Im personally not banded yet, but right now im shooting for like 1600, once im banded i think im setting my daily intake goal to 1000, Ill let you know soon enough tho! im getting banded on the 11th!!

Hey, i am a couple weeks out from my surgery date and getting nervous. i have all of these thoughts in my mind!!! the big one now that i REALLY need someone to answer for me is.. what the heck does the port feel like after you loose your weight? im sure i wont feel it while im overweight, but when my body gets to a normal body fat percentage will it be clearly visible under my skin?? will i ever be able to wear a bikini to the beach without people staring? i realize that i will probably feel it forever inside of me, but i dont it want to be noticable to other people. Can someone tell me if it will be??? thanks a ton, :help: Lauren
