Getting tired of drinking liquids. I was on Clear liquids from Oct 4 until October 24th. I am now on full liquids. but can not add skim milk to shakes. tired of the same old food but still doing well. Living on premier shakes, broth, unjury chicken and unflavored sugar free Jello and popsicles. I mix the unflavored in my crystal light. I still have to be on full liquids for another 19 days. Has anyone else had to do liquids for this long? Wasn't sure if it was just my dr. I need some suggestions please. I return back to work October 31

Not sure I gave my update yesterday, feel like my memory has gone lately. lol Anyway I had my follow up apt as I had surgery on 10/14/2014. Everything is going well. Got my biopsy tumor results and it was benign. Yeahhhh Just have do a follow-up CT every 3 months to keep an eye on it. Sad news is I am on full liquids for another 3 weeks. Could really use some soft mushy foods. I have already planned my meal for Nov 14. lol I have not had any solid food since Oct 4. Every day gets better. I wont cheat even though I have 3 weeks. My mindset it is the right place. I have too many health problems for the sleeve not to work for me. I have no cravings and the smell of food does not bother me. I think what has helped me is that I have never been a big food person. I would have to remind myself to eat when my sugar gets low. But when I did eat of course it wasn't healthy stuff. Love this group and sorry if I posted something like this yesterday.

Going for my follow-up apt today Hope he takes me off clear liquids. 12 days of Clear liquids is enough. I haven't heard back on my pathology report on the gist tumor that was removed so I am scared and nervous. hoping he had the results today. He removed the tumor so worse case scenario we will have to watch to see if it comes back or aggressive approach is to go back in and do the gastric bypass.. I am ready to have soft foods. Finally getting tired of liquid's. Last day of solid food was Oct 3. I hope all our October sleeves are doing well. I thought prior to surgery that I would be on here updating the day of surgery, but as you can see that did not happen. I had surgery at 10:30 and was in my room by 2:30. Surgery took a little longer than expected because a Gist tumor was found on my stomach. dr said it wasn't in a good spot and he had thought about changing my procedure to gastric bypass instead of the sleeve, but was successful in removing the tumor so he was able to do sleeve. He believes the tumor is begin but did send it to pathology. He had to make an extra staple line to remove it since it was not in the area they were cutting out. I don't have any pain unless I move. I came home 10/16/2014. I am very glad my husband took the week off to be with me. Crushing meds. yuck I found it easier to take them with a popsicle melted to slush or adding crystal light powder to it. I am drinking slow started using a spoon at first, but now sipping through a straw. Gas pain is not too bad. I was having spasms which I thought was bad gas, but dr put me on a spasm med and it helps better than the pain bill. My followup apt is 10/23/2014. On Clear liquids until I see him. I have no craving or even care to eat. Trying to get all my fluids in. I thought it would be hard to drink, but I am not having any issues. I have not weighed myself as my scale is upstairs and I am staying downstairs right now. I did lose 13 lbs on the preop. Hope everyone that has had there surgery are feeling better each day. Today is day 7 of my preop and I woke up very hungry. Next two days I have to do clear liquid and I am not sure what I can eat/drink to keep me full. But surgery day is around the corner. Good luck to all coming up and I hope everyone that has done the surgery is feeling great today. Share your tips please.

I survived my 1st day of liquid diet 9 more to go. Vert hungry upon waking this morning. How do I add friend request. Cant seem to figure it out. Thanks for all the support and suggestions

Do I need to have someone with me when I go home after surgery? I don't want my husband to take more than one day off if needed. He doesn't really have any time off since it's a new job.

My husband will take me home. He was going to take Friday off. Just not sure if I will leave we'd or thusday. I guess I am asking should I have someone with me my first day home

Ask your dr for a sleeping aid.. it won't effect the test and you will sleep

I asked for a day off for my preop class and upper gi and they didn't want to give me time off. Asked me to post pone if I could. They are not going to be happy when I tell them I will be out two weeks. This is why I can't tell them it's for weight loss.

I haven't thought about the way I would look. I am hoping to be rid of all my health issues looking good is a bonus. Lol
