And to answer your other question, my surgeon was Sina Matin and I had surgery at Baylor Grapevine. It's a great program.

Hi there! I have not signed into LapBand Talk in months, so I just got your message. Turns out I got approved with no problem too and had surgery on 9-28-09. Doing great, slow weight loss, just now beginning to get some restriction. I don't do lapbandtalk much anymore, enjoying blogging and other band bloggers instead. You have had great success and are an inspiration!

Hi. No, not banded until possibly mid-March. My last consultation is on January 21st. Trying to work on portion control now so it's not a shock to my body. LOL! I'm also trying to wrap my head around the pre-op and post-op liquid phases...whoah! All in all, I'm excited and inching toward getting ready for this change. I'm ready to use this tool to help get my health back in order.
Off to make my protein shake now. I try to have one of those a couple of mornings a week to get me going! Blessings to your day and thanks for being an inspiration on this journey!

Hi Kenzie! I did Lockheed insurance and it was Aetna. I had no problem getting approved. I did call the insurance daily once my Dr. submitted my forms. Sometimes "Nicely" nagging helps! I found that my information was sent to the wrong department and Aetna was very nice correcting it immedately. It could have taken weeks for them to realize it on thier own! As much as I hated waiting the 3-4 months.... I was better educated and have had much better success than my friend who self paid. I can't tell you how much I hated waiting... but I am glad I did. Christmas update! I ate a little of everything i love and I have not gained a pound!!! Ususally I am up 15 pounds since Thanksgiving. The band Works!! I love it!! I was wearing 22/24 jeans and I got a pair of Levi 8's for Christmas... that is ridiculous!

Hi there. I am beginning to realize that this 3 months is really a blessing. I think by the time surgery rolls around I will be mentally and physically ready. Did I read that you have insurance through Lockheed Martin? Mine is through there (Aetna). Did you have any problems with approval? My documented BMI is 43 and I have been just over 40 for the past 2 years so I am hoping there will not be any issues with approval. I went to my first support meeting at Baylor and it was good (I am beginning to realize that the Baylor program is great). Do you know if there are any groups that are just for band patients? Thanks for sharing. I know have others experience will really come in handy!
