    Week 6: May 27-31st Sleevers

Hi everyone it's been awhile since I've been in here. I am going well SW 208 CW 148. 8 lbs to my goal dr says 135 would be ok too. I am finding myself ALOT colder than I used to be. ( no more flubber, I guess lol) cleaning out closest of size 12 pants now a size 10. Constipation is a battle dir to our diets with more Protein. Fruit will help I do the squeezable fruit packets they are a great size for us. On another blog I am a member of smooth move herbal tea was suggested. I tried that and it worked fine. I take the occasional stool softener too. I really see a difference when I add fruit and increase fluids. I still think in my mind I am fat. Maybe that will always be the case. As far as exercise goes I try to get 10,000 steps in daily and go to the occasional kick boxing class. As far a sex drive mine has stayed about the same. I just seem TIRED ALL THE TIME. Not sure if it my traditional seasonal depression due to no sun or what? Or the newer job working three nights a week. Hope this finds everyone well Including and updated pic from Christmas. Happy new year everyone!

I have yet to vomit. Thank goodness! I rarely vomited prior to surgery even when really sick. Dietician and I had lots of discussions about learning where you're "soft" stop eating is.. Mine is a tightness I get in very upper stomach area. I try to eat slow so I can recognize that stop.

Eating around 1000-1100 calories 70-90 grams protein. Have found if u don't get at least 1000 calories in its slower to lose at least for me. I do scrambled eggs with cheese in am, around mid morning Greek yogurt, lunch deli meat with cheese lettuce wrap or tuna. Protein bar or shake late afternoon and dinner chicken steak or other protein again. Very minimal carbs veggies and fruit. Eat protein first!! Remember chew chew chew! Have found if too carb rich it upsets my stomach.

Nurse since 2003 mostly cardiac units. Was sleeved 5/27 and I am doing great! Tips: hydration very important , then protein. I feel better if I get 70 or more grams of protein in daily. This requires eating multiple times a day. Snacks are most consist of protein. SW 208 and I am now 166. Off one BP med and the other has been cut in half. Off cholesterol med too! Been traveling since 2 weeks post op off and on. My job is mostly health information technology. So that why I could get back to work quick. Protein shakes are almost available everywhere I travel. I also travel with my protein bars and powder. So glad I had this done

My taste buds have changed and no longer does popcorn taste good. I am finding joy in eating by finding health yogurt dips for veggies, different flavors of hummus, different spreads for deli meat like Dijon mustard, spicy mustard etc. just watch the calories! I eat small meals throughout day. eggs with cheese in am with a little Tabassco the green sauce. Mid morning Protein bar , cottage cheese or yougurt. Then lunch and another protein snack at 2-3 then dinner. Explore different dips, sauces, spreads and we even got lemon and lime olive oil for sautéing shrimp or grilling chicken. Hope this helps!

No beeping. They took out a portion of your stomach and left nothing metal inside. Don't even believe if u had lap band you would beep. So no worries!

Glad to see everyone is doing so well here. Been awhile since I checked in SW 208 current weight 168.3. Really helps to walk at least 3 miles daily. Went a week where I gained picked up the walking and the weight loss started again.

My dr said no lifting greater than 15 lbs. for a couple weeks. I still had a sore spot on abdomen so I was extra careful. I would recommend and abdominal binder so help support you abdomen and then use all your resources to help yourself with patients. But binder was very helpful!

I had 3 months with nutritionist for insurance but I saw surgeon first. Weight was done at each Dr visit and nutritionist visit. Some insurance require a certain BMI to be meet before approval. I had a 35 BMI but because I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol and string family history diabetes insurance approved. I had to NOT lose weight during three months nutritionist visit. I know sounds crazy but insurance may have not approved if I dropped below 35 BMI. Ask a lot of questions we are all different. Good luck! Us nurses are a tough breed I am sure you will do fine.
