Anyone getting November surgery? I'm trying to decide still between band and sleeve and leaning towards sleeve! I'm scared to permanently remove part of my body and wonder in the long run if it might be a problem. BASICALLY CAN YOU LIVE TO A RIPE OLD AGE WITH 80 % of your Tummy gone??

Sleeve Leaks ... Any fatalities reported?

Don't mean to be a downer , I think the Sleeve is amazing but I am terrified of leaks... I'm baffled that they can happen years later!!! Has anyone died from this!?? -
Is the sleeve safe long term?

Thanks everyone I appreciate you all being so sweet , caring and understanding,, I rubbed some people the wrong way with some questions already but ... Well I had a thought.. Why are lots of peoples Tummy's so Sensitive post op? I understand you just had surgery .. I hear some people say they can't "tolerate " things like salad and eggs and chicken months out so they done eat it..Isn't the surgery supposed to make your tummy SMALLER but NOT DIFFERENT?? Just asking and please don't bash me I am only curious I'm not being negative! Im most likely having the sleeve done and it was confusing how some people are do sensitive now! Any answers are greatly appreciated ! -
After reading complications people are going through years later with the SLEEVE... I'm too scared now to do it!

Thanks so much hopeful one! I see more good than bad with the sleeve and I pray for you all is perfect as I'm sure it will go for you! I just am the kind of person who asks tons of questions and some people may be annoyed but oh well lol I'm a nice person with a big heart and never meant to scare anyone.. I have children and need to be here for them .. Right now I'm an extremely healthy chubby girl , not on any meds and I have no illnesses but not sure how long this will last so yes I am here to ask opinions and I appreciate people like you ! -
Sleeve Leaks ... Any fatalities reported?

Again, I'm not bashing the Sleeve, I think it's a wonderful tool. That said I have read tons of complications now happening and since it's not backed by years of long term research I will ask and I have a right to ask as many questions I feel fit. It seems the complication subject is very touchy with people .. I want the sleeve , I'm not some jerk trying to scare people! I know there's risks with any surgery. I know people may not want to think about what I'm saying and I'm not here to tell people don't get the sleeve. I just have a lot of questions and sorry if some people don't like me for it! I am now researching why people have LEAKS YEARS OUT, Not just a few weeks out like most people think. Sorry if I came across like a paranoid freak but it's my body and my life here. -

Thanks, i am a big girl, I don't need " hand holding" I just want facts.. This may not be for me and I get that, I however I think it's good to ask as many questions to everyone, not just the surgeons, but to real people who live with complications. I have my surgeons appointment in a few weeks and obviously will ask him tons of questions. I'm just torn and trying to get advice and decide on what's right for me. I've been heavy my whole life, I would live the Sleeve... I'm not bashing it just need to ask opinions and I will make my choice when I'm ready! Thanks for that input though. -

On track for November Surgery
1cutechubbychiq replied to DaronB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Daron, I had my 2nd pop visit today too!! My health is perfect I just need to lose weight. I'm 242 lbs at 5 foot 2 and I have a baby I run after and I'm tired of being tired! My seminar is next Thursday and my doc told me today she rather I don't get the band and go for sleeve and that's what I am doing! Not because of her but because of all the problems I'm reading about! I met a girl today at the doc who has the band and hates it she told me DO NOT GET THE BAND lol and she is getting sleeve soon! I need a change in my life, for 25 years I'm overweight and I'm done. I'm willing to give things up and eat right and this is the time! Let me know how your doing! I meet with my surgeon after the seminar then make appointments from there I was told.. Sleep study!? I hope I don't have to do that lol -
