  1. I can honestly say that ever since I've been using the nutribullet that I've definitely seen an improvement. For example people complain about constipation so I experience it also. So I've decided to use raw cabbage banana blueberrys or mixed berries flax seed or chia seed. And now I have regularity with no issues since drinking the smoothies on a daily basis and it also counts towards Fluid intake.

    basically through trial and error I learned to listen to my body especially what i put in my sleeve. Definitely an improvement with the smoothies.

    yeah no problem with small seeds like from fruit like raspberries or strawberry's or chia seeds.
  4. Okay now I can have meals that weigh 7oz total. basically 4oz meat 3oz veggies. also i can have a snack so instead of eating a snack I have a veggie smoothie made with the nutribullet. I have to be careful not to eat any trigger foods for a snack. I listen to my body and it really depends what I put in my body as far as food is concerned. Determines what craving I will have. So I stay away from simple carbs. Only dairy carbs. for Cereal or a greek yogurt. It was suggested that I do a food journal however I eat the same foods and portions everyday every week. maybe twice a week Ill have a sandwich which consists of 2 slices whole grain bread and 5oz of deli meat mainly chicken turkey or ham. I still have my 2 cups of caffeinated coffee in the morning however I make sure I drink lots of Water during the course of the day. Oh I have special k Protein dry cereal in the morning I let the cereal soak up the milk and eat it careful not to take to much milk with the cereal.

    okay so basically what your indicating to me is that your eating more than 3 times a day. interesting. what I do is I made my own rule that I will only eat 3 meals a day. and my snack will consist of Fluid consistency because I dont want to start eating more than 3 meals because that could be a trigger for potential grazing in the future. plus my snack will count towards my total fluid intake. because for me is that I use to eat more than 3 times a day and thats what led to me being obese to begin with. But I respect another persons choices.

    so tell me if your meals are 4oz only how are you supposed to get your 70grams Protein in daily without protein shakes or supplements? because thats the goal isnt it to get your nutrition naturally? So if your meal is only meat where is the veggies? So if lets say your meal consists of 3oz meat 1 oz veggies. Breakfast is either dry cereal or 2 eggs or even a greek yogurt if you add up the protein your still not getting adequate protein intake.

    well basically I eat anywhere from 5oz to 7oz I have to make sure I get enough Protein without using Protein shakes are supplements. but yeah I can eat 7oz of food. 4oz meat 3oz veggies veggies are no big deal they are easy on the stomach.
  8. Okay I need feed back from the veterans with at least 1 year out about food portion sizes. My surgeon and I last left off that my meals should weigh 5ozs. Basically 3ozs meat 2 ozs veggies. 3 meals a day no Snacks. So can anybody let me know if this is going to be my meal plan from now on or do I increase my meal portion weight. If so can you please give me a sample portion size meal plan that others are now on.
  9. now that ive lost a substantial amount of weight my rear end hurts especially sitting long periods of time. does anybody else experience this????

    oh forgot to add that my a1c bloodwork test came back and i have a lab result of 5.1 the normal range is 4.2 - 5.9 so Im in the middle. Now the concept is can I keep it there. I will do my best to avoid screwing this up.

    Okay heres the deal I figured out that I was trying to and did twist what the surgeon recommended as weighing my meals. I finally realized that i was manipulating my food meal weight. Im supposed to eat 5 oz max per meal and I was weighing my food then I would take it off the scale then add gravy and cheese thinking how it is trivial weight added. But that is exactly the mentality that got me obese to begin with. This obesity is really the disease of more. Im thinking of attending a 12 step mutual help program called Overeaters Anonymous. It really is a mental thing. I realize that my manipulating the weight of the food was only the beginning of a much larger set of problems that need to be addressed immediately. I am not going to manipulate the rules, suggestions, guidelines or what have you. I heard of people that had the sleeve done then years later only to regain the weight.

    what im trying to understand is do I have to include the gravy and shredded cheese in the weight so for example my surgeon told me 5 oz per meal three a day no snacks so I usually weigh 3 oz of meat protein and 2 oz veggies but i do not include the gravy or cheese because i dont think it really makes a difference in space taken in the stomach once ingested. am I wrong isnt it a volume think really more so than a weight thing.
  13. I'll just have to see now that I stopped the prilosec for 2 days so far. The surgeon recommended that I stop taking them. I guess if my heartburn returns I'll have to continue taking them. what I'm also concerned about is that i've heard more than once that acid production can cause hunger. Does anybody experience increased appetite because of acid production?
  14. well so far so good no heartburn. I am happy that i dont have to wait an hour before i eat when taking prilosec. now I can eat whenever I want in the morning.
  15. Im wondering if i should eat before exercise in the morning. I mean I tried exercising without eating and have felt no ill effects doing that. wouldnt i be burning more calories if the body has no choice but to use what the body stored first.?

    just adding that when i seen the surgeon they took blood work and said they would call only if their was anything abnormal. hopefully i won't get a call. also i mentioned that my blood sugar was averaging around the low 70's in the morning, he added that my a1c should be below 5.9. however I will need to do bloodwork for at least a year every 3 months and check the a1c because it could change even if its not related to diet or exercise. so basically just like ive read on these forums that its a possibility that any test further out might indicate the need for diabetic meds again. oh well. also we discussed the hunger hormone ghrelin and the fullness hormone leptin and yes they will regenerate and will come back in time. however as long as i continue to eat and weigh my meals and not go over the hunger should be manageable. not anything like pre op.
  17. what ive noticed is even with a slower weight loss my waist is losing inches. Ive learned as my bmi gets lower the rate of weight loss decreases. I should be fitting into a 36 waist pants comfortably in one more week, they are just a little too snug yet. Im hoping I can get down to 165lbs my current weight is 198lbs. But I do remind myself that in the process of the wls and reduction of weight my blood pressure returned to normal, I dont take meds for diabetes anymore, Im hoping that I will not have sleep apnea soon. I know i still have it because i recorded myself at night sleeping to hear how i breathe and snore. the good news is that even with the recorder on voice activated only it only recorded about 1.5 hours of interrupted sleep patterns. So I believe I am getting better as far as the apnea is concerned. I do my 3 month check in this week with the nut and surgeon. then a week after them I do bloodwork with my pcp and i will find out what my a1c is also my cholesterol levels. I hope i can get off the cholesterol meds soon.
  18. Well Well Well its finally happening by next week I will officially be in Onederland. I am 200.2lbs as of this morning. Maybe in 2 weeks I will fit into my 36" waist pants that I bought. They are just too snug to wear just yet.

Hi guess what does anyone else have nightmares about eating the wrong foods sometimes I dream I ate an Italian hero from a deli and dreamed that I really enjoyed the Italian hero bread about the sandwich. Basically I have nightmares about eating fatty carbs and carbs that I can't or shouldn't eat. I swear nightmares like that are like a relapse or something it feels so real. when i wake up i realize i was only dreaming.

Ive been reading obesity books and the conclusion i have is that carbs make you fat and theres no proof that dietary fat causes heart disease. carbs increase your insulin which tells the body to store fat. a diet that is less than 30 grams of carbs daily preferably 20 grams. However, carbs are essential for the body to process protein correctly otherwise you go into whats called ketosis which is not good at all. I myself follow a low fat low carb lean protein diet. without the excess carbs the body uses the fat to use as energy which is preferable. Listen the food companies are out to make money by creating an epidemic of obese americans. theres too much money involved to correct it and it definitely is political as well. before refined products such as four and sugar like 150 years ago there was no such thing as these current diseases including heart disease and diabetes. for thousands of years people lived off a high fat meaty diet and there was none of these western diet diseases to speak of. Its up to the individual to educate themselves on obesity and the local library has all the books on it for free. the food pyramid is wrong to this current day is tells you your biggest daily intake should be carbs and its killing people.
  21. I was suffering from nightime urinating which resulted in many trips to the bathroom when I was trying to get some restful sleep. So I did some research into nightime urinating and I've decided that I will not drink any Water past 5pm every night. So this should alleviate this problem if not then I need to see the doctor. All this stemmed from worrying that I was not getting enough fluids before bed.

    I don't suggest anybody drink coffee it was suggested by my nut and surgeon to not drink coffee but I still do I did some research and I feel that it is ok for me. The main concern was that it is a diuretic and so causing dehydration. However I consume enough fluids to correct that. However like I said I do not suggest what I do for others to follow.

    Well I am now having 2 cups of coffee caffeinated a day. I just make sure I get enough fluids a day. I enjoy my coffee in the morning it def helps my exercising at the gym in the morning.

    My Waist

    Guess what I went shopping for a pair of jeans and im a 44 waist down from a 50 waist Nov 11. Im so happy. I have like 3 pairs of sweat pants and 1 pair of jeans now. I figure I should own at least one pair of jeans just in case. Well this means that soon I will have to sell all my shirts they are 4x and 3x button short sleeve collar shirts all different patterns for men even got Hawaiian floral shirts short sleeve of course a lot of summer shirts.
