  1. That must only be an option for pc's. I don't see that on my phone. Thank you!
  2. I have 4 toddlers so I don't get to go to the movies often but my husband and I used to make popcorn at home on the stove and watch movies on the weekends. I'm just wondering when I might get to do that again.
  3. My starting weight was 301. Thanks for the ideas! I have a big round face and a big belly. I'll just be glad when I only have one chin.
  4. Thanks for the replies. I never eat the microwave stuff. Only pop it on the stove and add butter spray. I'm going to check out the January thread. Thanks for the advice. You guys are awesome and so friendly!

Pain level at 1 week out?

I had similar pain when turning or lying a certain way in bed. But if your pain persists outside of bed you need to call your dr.

    So Much On My Mind......

For me, the first week sucked but I'm on day 16 and I feel great! I have more energy and sleep better than I have in years!
  7. How do you add a profile pic? Can it be done by phone?
  8. I'm 5'5. I was 301 pre op. I'm 16 days post op and I now weigh 277.2 as of this morning.

    Hair....

Make sure you're getting 70-100 grams of protein daily. Your body can only absorb 25 grams of protein in one sitting. This is where many people fail in getting enough protein. They think if they drink two bottles of protein drinks that have 60 grams each that they are getting their protein in. NOT TRUE! The second most common symptom of protein deficiency is hair loss. Also, my hair dresser swears by the vitamin, Biotin to strengthen hair. It can be found at any drug store.
  10. Today, as per my instructions, I was allowed baked or mashed potatoes and soft cooked veggies. Wow. I don't know what in the cat hair happened but I could only eat 4 small bites of a plain, baked potato for lunch and all I could eat for dinner was three, count em, three, baby carrots. So, I think things are working right now. I talked to my NUT and she said I'm right where I should be but not to eat an entire can of beans again. Not a problem!
  11. I finally got the go ahead to eat beans. I chewed them very, very well and I was able to eat the entire can of black beans. That makes me a little nervous and I'm wondering if that's normal.
  12. I made the call in January, filled out a mountain of paperwork, had my first appointment in February where they did all the blood work and explained the process. My surgeon did a scope April 1st, I got cardiac clearance at the end of April, then consult with Dr Weiss at the first of May where he gave me a surgery date of May 21st. My total out of pocket was $750 but after co-pays for the scope, cardiac clearance and other appointments I only had to pay $157.82.
  13. My mistake was not in what I ate but the quantity. I am eating according to the guide book given to me.
  14. My directions are not the same as yours. According to my surgeons guidelines, right now it is okay for me to eat beans, soft cooked veggies, soft fruits, baked or mashed potatoes.
  15. I had it done with Dr Weiss here in Lexington, KY. He's been doing this for 12 years and has never lost a patient. Only had one leak out of 4 thousand patients.
  16. I think I got it down because the beans had a lot of liquid that I ate like soup along with the beans As well as drinking water while eating. Thanks to you good people, I've learned how and how much to eat. I'm very thankful for you guys.
  17. Beans was on my list but not an amount. As well as soft cooked veggies and eggs and soft fruits from a can. But from on I'm just going to eat very small portions. I shouldn't have eaten a whole can for sure. But that's why I had to get this surgery in the first place. I have a drug problem called food.
  18. I love diet Mountain Dew more than food. Lol It's like crack to me. Which is why I can never have it again, sigh/swoon.
  19. It's been quite the journey but I love them all. They wouldn't know how to live without each other. My bio kids are 3 and 4 and my adopted (soon to be) kids are almost 2 and 4. Two boys, two girls, then my first born who is 16. I'm thankful to have the toddlers as a distraction. Otherwise, I would be worrying myself into the ground over my 16 year old who is now driving. Lol
  20. Thank you so much for the reply. I feel fine today but my lesson is learned. I'm back to protein shakes and soup today.
  21. Thank you so much. I appreciate all of you replying to me. I obviously need help and I'm thankful for you all. Truly.
  22. Haha yes, it makes life interesting to say the least. Two of them are my bio kids and two I am adopting. They were abused and I stepped in and took them. Seven months of court later and I have permanent custody :-)
  23. That was never even mentioned to me about drinking.
