female only How do you stay dri down under when exercising?
rivergirl14 posted a topic in The Gals' Room
Ladies, please talk to me about how you stay fresh and dry down there while exercising? I cannot find dri fit panities anywhere in the area I live in for my size . 2X still. (18-20). Curse Academy Sports. Practically the only sports store in town. They sell nothing above an XL. How are fat girls supposed to get in shape? I have a huge resentment, but that's another thread. I really hate feeling all sweaty down there. I am using powder but afraid that is not best for that area? And that area gets a little itchy when sweaty for a lengthy of time. It is very humid where I live. I love to walk, but all that moisture and itchyness are deterrants at times. Desitin, vasoline? Ideas? What do you do? Grin and bare it? Suggestions? -
Good to know. I have some papaya tabs I got at GNC. Bought to aid in digestion bc a friend told me they helped her. I haven't taken tho.

Happy to report it's going better. Maybe the fitbit had to sync with me. Lol

I agree. I'm doing SO much better since I started logging my food and activity on my fitness pal. It is great for awareness and motivation. -
Does anyone have this? I just bought today at Academy Sports. I was kinda looking for a fitbit or something pretty close. This says it is supposed to sync with mapmyfitness app or walkmyfitness...but I can't seem to get it to. Just curious if anyone has one of these. It was a lot less than fitbit. About $39.99. They did not have the fitbit so I thought I'd try this. I am anxious for something that will sync automatically; for ease and simplicity. Have you heard of it or used it? Thanks!

Thanks a mil. It has gone a lot better today. I've gotten over 10 tho steps. I got in a 3.5 mile walk this morn but also I've been "spring cleaning" all day and so on my feet most if it. I'm very satisfied with how it has synced today. It is quite the motivator. I agree!!!!

Thanks kitt. I'm really trying to understand it. And it is clipped to my bra. Maybe I will try moving it but honestly thst is the most convenient place. Do u wear yours all day? I did a big walk this morning and am now cleaning house. I'm curious as to how it's gonna all play out at the end of the day. Thanks for the help. I'm gonna keep trying it out.

For example. I just walked 3.5 mikes at a moderate 3.3 pace and it only gave me 152 calories for it on MFP. That cannot be right. Fitbit site says I burned 857 cals on thst walk. So why does MFP only recognize it as 152?
-
I am trying to get used to it. It is syncing with MFP but it doesn't give me the credit (it seems) for the calories I burned. Not as much as I think it should. And then MFP doesn't put on my news feed thst I exercises at all, like it did when I manually logged exercise with my pedometer. Or like it does when I use map my fitness. I have to admit I like the posting of my exercise and the accolades, thumbs up from others. So it is disappointing thst it doesn't show up. Idk. Then yesterdsy when I manually logged 30 min of house cleaning, gardening like u can do on MFP it took away the fitbit calories burned altogether. Ack. For me, has been a bit frustrating.

I did get a fitbit but am not sure it is working for me the way I wanted it to or thought it would. It is great for recording to (syncing) to the fitbit site. I'm confused about how it syncs with MFP, which is what I wanted it for. Quite frankly I'm pretty frustrated. But I'm gonna give it more time. I've only had it 2 days. There are many things I like about it.

Feeling disappointed. The fitbit is not syncing right with mfp. I am frustrated. :-( (and trying not to eat over it)

I purchased a fitbit one today. I like it so far, but I am not sure I have synced with mfp. Which is the biggest reason I wanted it. Hmmm...will try it for a few days more and see how it goes. I really want it to work they way I have heard it does. :-)

I just joined the fitbit group. Not a sleeve gal, lapband tho. But I just picked up a fitbit today. Hope it works for me.

kool, thanks! I am not findiing I like this fitbit all that well. It is ok; I meant to say it is not working well with mfp. And that is the reason I got it. Hmmmmmmm

I just bought the fitbit one today. Excited about it. If anyone wants to add me as a friend, my email for it is dllb372@gmail.com. Still learning about it. Gonna give it a try tonight.

Excellent idea! Which usually works. But, and a big one, I stupidly brought home marshmallows thst were left over from a church event thinking I'd be ok with them in the house. I'm not ok with them in the house. They went into the sugar free hot chocolate and also in my hands and in my mouth. Too many times. Ack! I just can't be trusted when it comes to sugar. If I doubted it before I know it now. Feeling very thankful I have somewhere to be the real self with. Thanks! -

And I'll just go on the record and say I'm struggling tonight and have been doing some comfort/stress eating all day. And even with the band you can do that with slider foods. I've gotten into sugar today and that just starts a vicious cycle. I feel bad and think I'm getting a cold. I just wanna sink into the sweets and feel better. Anyone know about that? Cuz I'm thinking I'm not alone here. It happens. Many of us are not normal eaters. Normal eaters don't turn to food when stressed about an upcoming event or when they don't feel well. Share it or wear it. So, I'm putting the food down and sharing it tonight. No shame here. I'm done with that. Too many years of it and just caused me to eat more. Thanks for a place to be honest. Together we get better. -

There are plenty of ppl on this site like u. I was one if them 17 days ago. I came here out of the same despairation. There's a lot of support here. Keep coming back. -
Yo lapband peeps. I have a question I hope someone else has an answer to. At times, when I seems to be bloated (and I have not even eaten much at all today), my stomach protrudes and is distended. My port REALLY hurts. I am trying to get down some Water and get unbloated. Made myself a fruit and veggie smoothie for dinner. I am so uncomfortble. It's like I am carrying around a big ole watermelon in my belly and I need to hold it up to keep from hurting. Ack! This doesn't happen often, but it does from time to time. Any ideas as to why and what to do? thanks!
-
Thanks 2. Might be a really good guess. :-)

Does anyone else ever get a charlie horse around your port? Ya know, like during the night when you wake up and your calf hurts and contracts and you have to get up and stretch it out? Some call it a charlie horse. I get that around my port from time to time, that muscle contracts and hurts...really hurts. It goes away just like in my calf. But, I wondered if anyone else experienced it and what you do about it. Thanks!

How to Manage Food Addictions Over the Holidays
rivergirl14 replied to Mary Jo Rapini's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I am so glad to read this. More and more awareness is out there now about sugar addiction. It's like crack to some ppl. To me. I am sugar free as well. Since July 2013. I am a food addict and work a 12 step program. Sugar is my biggest trigger. Once I start I can't seem to stop. Very good article and thanks for writing it. I agree 100%. -
oooooo, some great new ideas for ME to try. I'm a teacher and now home for lunch for the summer. I was already getting bored with my own ideas. thanks for the shares.
