So I blinked and I'm now only 3 days from my new tummy... so many emotions, so many thoughts. I am ready for this, almost two weeks of pre-op liquid diet done. A new life begins on the 17th, a new beginning. I find myself second guessing my decision, I have common fears of surgery and I am constantly thinking about it. I am excited and ready at the same time too. I know what I am feeling is normal, and I have noticed the excitement and readiness overcoming the fear and worry. This is it, no more work for 3 weeks... let me take this time to enjoy my mini vacation and begin my wonderful journey to a healthy me. I hope everyone is doing well!

Will I Be Approved with MI
weasle mama replied to LindaWinda's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not necessarily, you need to show them that you are at a stable point in your life to manage the mental side of losing so much weight. Any meds you're on are fine. It's a major mental journey, and they want anyone, even someone without mental illness to be prepared and not set up for failure. Good Luck! -

Getting excited and nervous.... I was bad and read the complications section and of course put me into second guessing my decision. God speed to all of us!! -
Weight gain from meds 3 yrs post op-any advice?
weasle mama replied to SBRN's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am on Welbutrin and noticed a decrease in appetite when I started, it's one of the few that don't have weight gain as a side effect. It may be worth checking out?! -

June 2014 Sleevers Check In!
weasle mama replied to SnohoGal98296's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Im a June 17th sleever. Very excited. Beginning my pre-op diet next Tuesday. I'm ready, I've lost 42 lbs so far on my own and am excited to get this tool to support me through the rest of my transformation. I plan to go to adventureland with my boys in August and ve able to fit all the rides I couldn't squeeze into last year!! :-) -
I am also a June 17th sleever! I am in Des Moines, IA and will be having it at Mercy here. I am very excited and nervous just like everyone else. I have been ready for years but with insurance mishaps I was able to until now. It's coming ladies. I have done wonderfully eating healthier and adjusting to a new eating lifestyle. I've lost 40 lbs so far just from cutting out sugar, bread, and bad carbs. I feel better, but I've done this before and then fall off the bad wagon and gain it all back. I want the surgery to help me in staying focused on my goal. I am ready... kind of wish it was sooner, but it will come quick enough. One more week until pre-op liquid diet!

Gluten Free AND Artificial Sweetener Free?
weasle mama replied to musicmama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get the Gold Standard Whey Double Rich Chocolate. There are NO sweeteners and NO gluten. My sister is gluten intolerant and has no reaction at all to it. And I have reactions to artificial sweeteners except Stevia and this has nothing in it. I like to doctor it up with a half of banana and a tsp of PB2. If you don't know what that is it is a powdered peanut butter that has only 45 calorie per 2 tbsp. Give it a try, I buy mine from Vitamin Shoppe or Amazon. Hope that helps!! Sara
