    Not yet banded...i'm too confused.

Okay that is what I will be doing! Thanks! At work, in our policy coverage, it does state it covers wls and some of the criteria is listed. I'm sure there is more to it than that though since that is just an overview. I wasn't sure if I should wait to reach out to an actual center that I will be getting my band until I know if I need the whole 6 mo diet or anything like that. So insurance and center, then if the medical diet is needed, the doctors...correct?!?
  2. No i have no. I haven't even started the process yet. I finally got insurance, so i'm going to start in Jan. Good job! I can't even imagine how wonderful that would feel. Keep me updated. It's wonderful to hear stuff like this, especially from younger people, ya know?!?

  3. Hi! I saw you on here and saw you're post op and possibly in Colorado? just wondering how you're doing and how the process is going for you?

    The run around.

At this time I do not have insurance and I called to speak with someone with the Realize band and they told me to shop around for insurance and ask if they cover Bariatric. Well, the few companies that she did would tell me no. After telling them I saw online that they did they would say well how much do you weigh (which i don't really feel comfortable telling someone who just said they don't cover it). Finally, the only person that I could get an answer out of was a guy from Aetna and he said they do not cover it in an individual plan, only group. My work offers insurance once a year and I was not around for the enrollment date. I'm unsure of where to go or what to even do to start the process. I have no support from anyone, but I'm ready to move ahead. I need to do this now, for myself. Any help is appreciated.
