  1. For those that did get to their goal weight and are now in maintenance, how much weight did you gain back from your lowest weight ever to your "maintaining" weight? (My lowest average was 118, I have been maintaining at 120-123- I follow low-carb and been trying intermitten fasting")

"My Diet is Better than Your Diet" -- random rambling...

And you know this how? (Not saying it's not true -- but I haven't seen anything about this online elsewhere.) Sometimes the rate at how much & how fast a person loses weight is a dead-give away, especially for older women this is just my opinion. Some will lose weight pretty fast on a low-carb diet but never fast like when a person has had WLS.

"My Diet is Better than Your Diet" -- random rambling...

I got caught up on all the epsisodes..warning!!...my post contains spoilers.... I was quite surprised when that lady- the pink team- wanted her player to "enjoy" a cookie after they just learned the bad effects of sugar etc., but when she started her wanting to do oil ritual once a week- I thought to myself "now that's odd"...oaky I thought worse but I will keep that to myself LOL..Glad she switched, I think she will do so much better with her new coach and plan. Also glad cLean eating Momma got kicked to the curb, she was a nut in another unique way and was not of any help for her player (green team) I am sure her plan is good just wasn't good for her player. I can't wait to see what her new plan will be.

"My Diet is Better than Your Diet" -- random rambling...

I just watched the first episode last night, I will catch up with the other shows this weekend. I wouldn't mind having some of the smoothie recipes, the kale & bananna one looks interesting. The "Wild Man" diet is almost just like Atkins 1972 version with only minor changes. I wonder to why Oprah doesn't get WLS? She could have easy gotton sleeved, never said a word then said it's was all about WW and made even more money but that could have also back-fired in some way. I do think Dolly Parton has had WLS, only my opinion.

    Made it to goal. Hurrah?

Congratulations! You look great! I guess most of us are in the same boat, as once we hit goal "now what" Well to continue to maintain or lose a lb or 2 more for me is a "goal" but my new goal is to walk/run 2 miles under a certain time limit with eventually seeing what "my" best time can be- not comparing myself to others only to improve my own time.

    Complications....so broken and sadden

When I read somewhere that all leaks eventually do heal, that gave me the hope I needed at the time I needed it. My original sleeve surgery was July 22, 2014, then on August 13, 2014 I went to surgeon for check-up, I was having gas pains but otherwise everything seemed normal. I woke up the next day in such horrible pain that I could barely walk, anyway I was admitted to hospital- had exploritory sugery later that day, I woke up with a feeding tube in my nose and a drain on left side near stomach. This hospital stay was 8 days. I had a big leak because I had multiple abcesses. I was hospitalized 6 more times, due to other complications as well-drain fell out, drain not working, new drain etc. After the fist six weeks they moved the feeding tube from my nose to my stomach area near jp drain. Eventurally I was put on a PICC line for 7- 8 weeks That darn jp drain was removed finally in February 2015, and the feeding tube was removed March 3, 2015 so yeah my ordeal did last 7 1/2 months, I was either stuck in a recliner or a hospital bed. It did take several weeks for me to get used to sleeping back in my own bed. and I must all those times that feeding tube got clogged was not fun either. Yes, I would do it all again! I am super thankful I had such a great surgeon! My next follow-up isn't until May of 2016! Oh and as to what caused those leaks, Dr didn't know but I blame a smoothie I had the Monday prior to having to much foam! Advice I had read here that I should have taken "AVOID foam at all cost" for a couple months after surgery.

How to stop losing weight without gaining it back

Proteins is what will build muscle Carbs will make you hungry It's a very slippey slope Everybody's body is different, we will all have to expeirment with what works and what don't. I hear too many horror stories of people that had the sleeve gain all their weight back plus some. So I asked one lady "how- how is that possible" she said "Large sugary coffees everyday from that famous coffee place, (not sure if I can say it) fried foods (although not much at one sitting but throughout the day) Diet cokes, donuts, cakes, Cookies, popcorn all the typical "slider" foods- never really followed the rules"

    Maintenance and bloating

Yes, -walking helps. After you eat wait the 30 minutes to an hour then sip on some cold Water. I hate that feeling so I always try to never put more in my stomach then it can hold which is a little less than 2oz about 1.5 to 1.8, I had my surgery July 22, 2014. I measure and weigh everything! Like you I am very afraid of gaining weight back, I want to call my self maintaining but I am still losing weight. The maintain lane will be much more harder then the losing lane was!!!!!!

    Mushy Help

I am not saying you to do this you must follow your gut instinct or your nut but in the very beginning a lot of "sleevers" tolerate mashed potatoes or the noodles and juice from Cambell's chicken noodle soup original- don't eat the chicken pieces just yet and try to fill up on protein shakes. They do have protein puddings and jello-s but they don't taste too good.

    Louisiana Sleevers?

I am sure whoever asked already had their surgery, but I have and used Dr. Borland- I LOVE him! I just don't see how they can get better- his staff is awesome and welcoming as well! Dr. Borland is very patient oriented and focused on his patient. Easy on the eyes too! I can eat about 8-10 tiny boiled crawfish maybe 4 large ones, our love for boiled crawfish won't go away LOL

Gastric sleeve , I'm so sick

Everytime I eat something I get nausous and I stay nausous until I can start drinking liquids again. I am so nausous now in fact, and it's been 2 hours since I ate breakfast.
  13. haha I know the struggle is real, I've had more complications from this surgery then you would want to imagine...TRUST ME you don't have a clue what can happen to you if you keep leting your head steer you in the wrong direction. I wasn't calling you sucidal but what you are doing to yourself- dare I say stupid, grow up and remembeber why you had this surgery

Losing Hope Sleeve Leak 8 mos post op

My heart and prayers go out to you! My situation was a little different, I never had a stint- I was put on a feeding tube from the get go after exploritory surgery. I eventually was put on a PICC line for 7 weeks but that wasn't until after the sugery that they cut me open and left it open so I'd heal from the inside out that was 3 1/2 months after exploritory surgery. Had JP drain a good 6 1/2-7 months. I was an NPO patient most of my ordeal which means nothing by mouth, I could have ice chips, 1/3 of a popsicle a day sometimes baby sips of Water. I was on a feeding tube 24/7 so I was never hungry. All leaks do heal and like you there were plenty of times I didn't see the light at the end of the tunnel, I thought I'd be on a feeding tube and in a recliner for the rest of my life- I even came to terms with that. Thank GOD I had one of the best surgeons (in my opinion) not only for the surgery but to fix me back to normal, he is one of the few surgeons that will fix leaks etc., I didn't have to deal with the horrible pain of stints so considering only what I went through- it was worth it to me and I would do it all over again. Please consider other options before getting by-pass. Feel free to message me and ask any questions
