    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Day 12 post op. The puree diet is still very much an adventure. They want me to eat 2 - 4 ounces 6 times a day. That's 1/4 - 1/2 cups. Cottage cheese no problem. Tuna salad big problem. It is true that you don't know what food your changed stomach is going to tolerate. The hardest part is trying to get the hydration in - I was thrilled to find out that sugar free Popsicle and jello count towards water totals. Had no issues with boiled eggs - pureed of course - was concerned because I read alot of posts saying that people had issues with eggs. Also when I couldn't find how to puree hot dogs I went to a speech therapy web site and they had tons of suggestions for all kinds of meats. Hope everyone is doing well!!

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Surgery was June 5th in another city so I had to stay in a hotel overnight. My daughter and brother were with me. Pain meds mixed with anesthesia left over kept me very pain free. The ride home was not fun for the new stomach. Since then I am still doing the liquid diet until my follow up on Thursday and then hopefully i am moving to puree. Can only handle one protein drink a day so far = that and water. The surgery only took 24 minutes! Dr. Curry rocks and my nurse Megan was very attentive and made sure every one understood the after care instructions. Since I have been home I go for frequent walks with my son - just up the road a ways but it helps with any discomfort. Most of my pain/ache is on the left abdomen and my sternum - not like heartburn though - more like pressure, I have already picked five puree recipes to start my new adventure.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Hi Everyone. Surgery date is June 5th. Been on the pre-op diet for two weeks now and have less than two to go. I am reading everything I can so I can try and get everything I need for the first two weeks in the house before I have the surgery. I am very nervous and very excited.

    June 2014 Sleevers

I am getting sleeved on June 5th. Been on a liquid diet for two weeks and have two weeks to go. Miss chewing. Never realized how much I would miss the actual mechanics of chewing.

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

I am scheduled for June 5th also. I get nervous on and off. Pre diet is not very pleasant but I want the surgery to be without any complications so I have been super compliant. My food cravings have lessened and I am no longer dreaming of cooking like the first week. I'm with journeylite and they gave me the foods I have to eat up until the day of surgery so I didn't have to put much thought into it - which is a good thing.
