Dear FRIENDS.... I have my alarm set for Monday, August 4th at 3:15 AM EST! I have to wash with Hibiclens and leave by 4AM to be at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio by 5:30AM! My surgery is at 7:30AM EST and I will officially be sleeved. I am so blessed and excited to be part of this community and want to say THANK YOU to all of you for your posts. August 4th I am getting sleeved

Hello Friends, OK first and foremost I AM STARVING!!! I go into Cleveland Clinic on July 31 for pre surgery appointments. I have determined that is VERY IMPORTANT that you be your own advocate in the planning of your surgery. I just found out today that the hospital submitted me as out patient for my surgery. HELLO I had already called my insurance company BCBS of Illinois and received my approval code for inpatient stay. Which by the way if this was not done they would only pay 50% instead of 80% VERY IMPORTANT that you are on top of your insurance coverage and checking with your insurance company and the hospital. The Finance dept refused to call me back when I got my first denial letter from insurance company and had to handle by myself... SCRATCH THAT with Jesus help and the most incredible lady at BCBS who helped me submit my appeal and thus got it approved. I am blessed I AM SO HUNGRY and everytime I smell food I want to eat it! I am exercising, loosing weight, and preparing for my surgery. I am getting my house in order so I dont have to think about it being clean, etc. I FEEL LIKE I AM GETTING ready for a BABY to come home! You should see my house, I repainted my office and going thru my things and getting ready for a garage, ebay sale! Seriously what was I THINKING? Oh and I should mention I have a home business with Nerium International so I am working at the same time and am double blessed to be working at home during this time so I can organize everything. OK... thats all for now have to go drink a shake LOVE YOU LOTS

I am using organic non GMO raw Protein by garden of Life. I use almond milk and organic tofu some ice in my vitamin! So delicious. HELLO FRIENDS, I am having my EGD in the morning at Cleveland clinic to see if I have a Hiatal Hernia & GERD! My Dr will then give me a recommendation for Gastric Bypass or Sleeve. The Dr. Said he would repair hernia during surgery. QUESTION: For those of you that have had an EGD pre-op or post and had a Hiatel Hernia did the Dr. repair and if so did this help with GERD? FUNNY THING MY HUSBAND SAID: Ok, so let the bariatric humor begin (trust me I know it is no laughing matter, just sometimes we have to chose to laugh) So, I was taking Communion at church last night and as I got back in my seat my husband leans over and says, you realize you just had your entire dinner at communion! Dear Friends, We'll I lost 10 pounds sine my last nutrition appt and I even got my period today so I was so jazzed! FUNNY THING I thought when she gave me the goal of 254 that I had to lose the weight by the next nutrition appt and my first was on June 3rd. When she weighed me she said WOW you are 4 pounds away from your surgery goal weight! WAIT WHAT? I have been working out, eating healthy, did a detox and following all the steps I have been given. I made the decision to have the sleeve surgery! I am so excited! I have BCBS and if I get the approval in time the Doctors nurse is checking to see if I can get surgery in July! I am meeting with surgeon in a couple weeks and we are discussing the sleeve verses bypass. I am 50 years old, no other health concerns except my knees are bad from my extra weight and the obvious.. I am overweight scratch that obese : ) So for those of you who have had bypass I was wondering if you would now have considered the sleeve or visa versa. THANK YOU ahead of time as I am a newbie. QUESTION: IF YOU could tell your pre-op self ONE THING, ONE word of advise, something that you WISH SOMEONE WOULD have told you... WHAT WOULD IT BE???

I only do Non-GMO raw protein shakes and supplements. I would suggest going on Amazon and looking at Garden of Life I also take their new vitamins USDA organic Non-GMO Kind Organics they are by Garden of life also. They also have mouth spray vitamens for B-12 etc

I was thinking about the things I am most excited of doing when I achieve my goal weight. You will be surprised how simple they really are. QUESTION: WHAT THINGS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO WHEN YOU ACHIEVE your goal weight??? I will go FIRST: 1. Playing with my 11 year old daughter outside and not quitting because I am hot & uncomfortable! So excited to ride bikes with her 2. To wear short sleeve shirts and shorts in the summer and not wear long sleeves and long pants because I am embarrassed of my arms & legs ahhhhhhhh FREEDOM! 3. Go out in public and not be so concerned with what people think of my weight. Just having fun while living my life 4. So let see how this GOES as they told me not to post on social media under Sedation! I had my EGD and they took a biopsy. I do have a hiatus hernia and they found inflammation in the gastric Antrum. They said this could HAVE A bacteria and thus the biopsy. Won't hear back for 5-10 days. Ever since I have had my gull bladder out a few years ago I get serious stomach pain like my organs are in a vise! I wonder if this could be the cause of this pain. Either way I will talk to the surgeon and then we will pick sleeve or bypass and he will correct the hernia during surgery! OK NOW FOR THE FUNNY PART! I had an IV and told them I had a high gag reflex so what ever they could give me to put me out would be great! So the Dr looked at me and said with a question in her voice, so you are going to be 50??? She said your skin is beautiful and you don't look 50 at all what do you use. I explained I worked with a biotech company and we have a SkinCare product Nerium and a new Body contouring cream Nerium firm. She asked me what was in it and where she could get it. MY MIND WENT COMPLETELY BLANK!!! I remember asking her if she saw the movie Baby mamma with Tina Faye. I started quoting scenes from the movie where her seragate was getting the implantation and they had her hooked to an IV. She grabbed the IV and said, what's the street name for this I have to get more! Anyway.... I remember gagging as they put the scope in, Tina Faye and then I woke up! I CRACK MYSELF UP
