Ive been home since Thursday. Not that much discomfort. Just taking it easy. I have alot of puffiness from IV fluids. Hopefully, it will come off soon.

My date is tomorrow as well and I have to be at the hospital at the same time as you. Good Luck to you tomorrow....

I wanted to start running too. How do i get the podcast couch to 5k? I walk 2-3 miles every other day and would like to start running to increase weightloss.

I was just wondering if anyone just does exercise at home and have lost the weight? It is getting cold here where I live and would like to start back losing the weight, but I have time constraints with school and working 2nd shift. Money is a factor as well, so I just cannot go and buy a treadmill or something.

I got the Realize band and I really like it. It took me awhile to get restriction but now I ahave 8cc in my band and now the weight is coming off.

All my information was turned in Oct 25th which was Thursday and I called my insurance company on day and they told me that I was APPROVED!!!!!!:whoo:I can not wait. They will sent me an approveal letter and now I just have to wait until the Bariatric center calls me with my date. But when I talked to my insurance company, they told me that the date of service listed on the paperwork was Dec 13th. I think this is the band date. Will post more info sooon. I am going to Dr Schram in Holland for Lap Band surgery and was wondering if any one has had their surgery with him or is scheduled to have their surgery with him? He has an office in Holand, but performs his surgeries at the Bariatirc Hosp. in Yspsanti. Mi. I just wanted to know more about his regime and what to expect for his after care instructions.:ranger: Caramel

I had internal stitches and my incisions were glued and he covered them with steri strips. Once the steri strips came off, my incisions were closed. My incisions look pretty good for being 3 weeks out. Caramel:ranger:

Hi all, Im back. I was banded on dec 12th too and came home the same day. I am a little sore and stomach is bloated. I took a shower this morning and feel a 100% better. I have not had to take that liquid Viocodin because my pain is bearable. Everytime I drink I have hiccups, like I need to burp. I have had cream of chicken Soup, Jello, tea, Water and apple juice. I have had loose stools. I amm only able to take sips because of the fullness I get when I sip. My doctor installed the new Realize band that just came out 1 month ago. I can not wait to see what happens next. I wish all you guys luck and I will talk to you guys later. Caramel

The clinic called me today and told me my date was Dec 12th. So I get banded a day earlier. I could have had the surgery sooner like the Dec 5th, but I am in school and do not want to risk messing up my grades when my class in almost finished. Caramel:ranger:

I talked to my insurance and they said that the doctor submitted the paperwork with the date of service being Dec 13th. I assume that is my band date, so that makes me too a Merry Bander. I will post if anything different. That comes right on time because I will just be fininshing up my fall semester at school. Caramel:ranger:

I posted this more than two weeks ago and noone responded, so I figure that maybe some of the new people just getting started have been to see Dr Schram in Holland or anyone that has had surgery done by him could shed some light on what his post op instructions or even what kind of band he uses? It was a form given to me by the Bariatric center that I go to.

At the bariatirc center where I go to had a from they had me fill out and I had to list all the diets that I had been onover a 3 year span, but I listed the last five years to be sure. Some of the diets that I listed were from my primary doc prescribing diet pills for me, so that counts as well.

My doctor had me on various diet pills over a long time span and then I tried Weight watchers, adkins diet, south beach diet, curves and dieting on my own and I had to write it all down in chroniligical order form most recent to past and turn it in. I will post when I get my approval! I can not wait! Caramel

what is your measurements and your BMI?

I have not been banded yet, but my sis had gastrix bypass and I was wondering if you r not allowed to ever suck through a straw again? That was one of the things they told her prior to surgery. I was curious :cry Caramel
