I had RNY done 7/2014, hernia repair 9/2014, and then a revision to SIPS 3/2015. (I had a very large marginal ulcer that would not heal) I have always suffered with acid reflux/gerd. With the RNY I had no issues with it. I am currently 2 months post op of SIPS. My acid reflux has gotten horrible. I've tried 80mg of Prilosec and 60mg of Dexilant. I have been on Prilosec since 2007. One morning I spit up bile and a dab of blood. It was soo painful. I have never done that before. So I had a scope done this week. The GI doctor found my esophagus and sleeve is red and irritated. He took a biopsy as well. He suggested to keep taking my meds and to eat smaller meals through out the day. (I've been doing this) The GI doctor said that my test results will be back in 10 days and to come back in 2 weeks for a follow up. He never said if I had bile reflux. It always seems to be something... Is there a fix if I do have bile reflux???? Nicole

I'm doing ok. I still have acid reflux and I'm taking 80mg of prilosec daily. I hope the more I heal the better it gets. Waking up with acid in the throat sucks!

I'm having a revision from RNY to SIPS or SADI-S I think it's called. I'm having complications with hernias and ulcers with the RNY. Surgery is schedule for Monday 3/16/15. It's quite difficult to find others whom have also had the surgery.

Dr Enochs is also my doctor I am having SIPS or SADI-S Monday 3/16/2015 I had RNY 7/11/2014 So this will be a revision for me. I am currently down almost 97lbs so far with the RNY, but I am having complications with ulcers and hernias. How are you doing Mojo56?

im having a revision from rny bypass to sips on monday 3/16/2015 my dr just started doing this type of wls last october. im only 8 months post op from rny. i have had some issues with hernias and ulcers. sips seems to be the solution. how have you been since surgery? was the healing process terrible? i am a mom of 3 little ones. i hope not to be out of commission too long.

I have been diagnosed with a marginal ulcer. This is the second ulcer I have gotten. This one is real large. The GI Dr said it's due to a large gastric pouch. He says it's releasing a lot of acid. I've been on Prilosec 40mg since my second surgery (2nd hernia repair) which took place 2 months after my RNY. I have also used Carafate and now taking 2 different antibiotics. I am now being referred to another bariatric specialist. Surgery (revision) seems to be the only fix at the moment. Has anyone else experienced this???
